Chapter 205: A Sweet Strange Feeling
Liam floated in stillness, the cosmos sprawling around him in every direction.
For a long moment, he didn’t move. The vastness of space stretched infinitely in an eternal silence, and he found himself lost in its beauty.
Ahead of him blazed the sun, a brilliant and alive, a blazing sea of gold and white. Thanks to his enhanced sight and the Eagle Vision trait, he could see details no human eyes could, even though he couldn’t see the surface of the sun.
Mercury and Venus shimmered nearby, tiny suns of their own. When he turned, Mars burned faintly red in the dark, Jupiter loomed vast with its swirling storms, and the pale arcs of Saturn’s rings were perfectly distinct. Even Neptune was visible — dim, but there.
Liam felt a strange sensation in his chest, as he took in the view around him. It was beyond comprehension. He had seen the stars before through telescopes and high-definition images, but nothing compared to standing here and seeing it with his own eyes.
“It’s too beautiful,” he muttered.
He decided to stay for a while. He crossed his legs slowly and hovered in place, sitting in the emptiness with the ease of someone resting by a calm river, enjoying the silence of Space around him
I could stay here forever.
The thought was simple but sincere.
Part of him wanted to go further — to fly toward Mars, to drift across the frozen rings of Saturn, to stand on the red plains and look back at the sun from another world. But he knew he couldn’t. Even though his new exosuit had just shattered every boundary of human technology, he didn’t really have the time tonight to see everything it can do.
Even so, the thrill of what he had achieved filled him with pride. He had reached the edge of the world and looked beyond it. This was something no one else will be able to achieve.
He smiled faintly at that thought.
Even now, he could still feel power flowing through the armor. His natural speed had already multiplied by tenfold.
At full thrust, he had broken past 9,000 mph, yet his instincts told him there was still more hidden potential. The suit hadn’t reached its limit and neither had he, as he felt that his natural speed has increased due to how he pushed it.
He lingered in that silence for more than half an hour, watching the slow turn of the planets, the thin curve of light moving across Earth far below, and the golden blaze of the sun that gave life to everything.
When he finally decided to move, it was with reluctance.
He reappeared in his command office within the industrial base.
“Welcome back, Master,” Lucy greeted. “How was the field test?”
Liam laughed softly, still high from the experience. “Wonderful. You’ve outdone yourself again, Lucy. It’s everything I wanted and more.”
“I’m glad you love it,” Lucy smiled proudly, her eyes brightening.
She tilted her head slightly. “Would you like to keep that version, or switch to the nanite one?”
“The nanite one?”
She nodded. “Yes. Both versions function the same and are made from the same material. This,” she gestured toward the armor encasing him, “is the full mechanical exosuit. The nanite version is lighter and more adaptable for daily use, but function the same as the mechanical version.”
Liam thought for a moment, looking down at the black and gold armor that still gleamed faintly under the office light, and he asked, “Can I use both? Combine them somehow?”
Lucy’s smile widened, mischievously.
“That was the original design. The nanites can integrate with the full exosuit, complementing it perfectly. One is powerful. Both together are beyond comparison — two times stronger, faster, and infinitely more efficient.”
Liam couldn’t help but grin. “You’re brilliant.”
“Thank you, Master,” Lucy said, clearly pleased.
He exhaled softly and willed the armor to open. The plating split smoothly and folded backward like flower petals. With a soft hiss of air, he stepped out.
The armor stood behind him for a moment before retracting into its compact form — a metallic case resting quietly on the platform.
Liam walked to the desk, where the smaller suitcase waited. Inside, the compressed nanite block shimmered faintly like black glass. He picked it up. It dissolved instantly in his hand, reforming around his wrist in a seamless flow until it became a sleek black watch.
“Good design,” he murmured, admiring it.
“Both version are linked to your Lucid and they responds to your thoughts,” Lucy said proudly. “A single command and it can form or retract instantly.”
“Perfect,” Liam said, nodding.
He looked back at her. “Are you ready to start the starship project?”
“I am,” she said confidently.
“Good. From now on, you can move freely between here and the outside world. You don’t need me to open the Dimensional Space for you.”
Lucy nodded, with a bright smile on her face.
“But since I can’t take you directly to the moon, you’ll have to build a spaceship capable of doing so yourself,” Liam added.
Lucy smiled faintly. “You don’t need to worry. I’ll handle it.”
“I know you will,” Liam said, returning her smile. “Keep me updated. Once it’s ready, I’ll join you there.”
“Yes, Master.”
Liam gave one last approving nod before taking flight.
The ceiling above him split open in smooth motion, revealing the muted sky of the Dimensional Space.
He hovered there for a moment, looking down at the massive complex beneath him — an entire mechanical world of Lucy’s own creation. The sight filled him with quiet pride.
Then, turning, he accelerated toward the horizon.

The air shimmered as he flew across the plains, heading toward the Spirit Lake — the place where he had left Yanxia.
Even before he reached it, he began to feel a wave of intense heat rolling through the air, rippling across the landscape like sunlight made solid.
The temperature spiked sharply, but it didn’t harm him. If anything, it felt warm and comforting, like standing before a hearth after a long winter.
As he drew closer, the light ahead grew blinding. He slowed, hovering at a distance and what he saw made his breath catch.
In the middle of the crater where the lake once shimmered was now a blazing sphere of fire — vast and radiant, burning with golden-red flames that rose like the surface of a miniature sun.
The heat was immense, distorting the air around it. The entire area trembled under the power radiating from it.
Liam’s eyes widened as he stared at the sight.
“Yanxia…” he whispered in surprise.
The ball of fire pulsed rhythmically, each pulse sending waves of energy through the air. It was alive and breathing.
He could feel a powerful, divine presence hidden within the flame.
“System,” he said quietly. “What’s happening?”
[She is solidifying her foundation, Host. She is stabilizing the cultivation realm she was born with.]
Liam’s brow furrowed. “The realm she was born with?”
[Yes, Host. The Golden Immortal Stage.]
The words struck him like a thunderclap. He froze midair, the shock so great he almost lost his balance.
“Golden… Immortal?”
[Yes. All members of the Three-Legged Golden Crow race are born at that level. They spend decades solidifying their foundations before receiving the full inheritance stored in their bloodline. Once this process is complete, their intelligence and abilities develop further, allowing them to communicate freely and assume their human form.]
Liam was speechless. He looked again at the blazing sphere in the distance — a young creature, barely hatched, radiating enough power to melt mountains and light up the heavens.
He had known Yanxia was special — a divine beast of ancient legend — but hearing it confirmed was different. She wasn’t just powerful. She was immortal from birth.
“An immortal beast… as my companion,” he muttered, as a slow smile spread across his face
The realization filled him with a strange feeling and his excitement stirred again, the desire to cultivate burning stronger than ever. But he knew he had to wait — to prepare, to build the perfect foundation first.
For now, this was enough. He watched Yanxia’s flames flicker and dance, illuminating the crater like the dawn of a new world.
“Grow well,” he said softly.
Then, with a faint smile, Liam vanished.
