Chapter 347: The Horror Of Unknown!?
The sky grew cloudy, and the rumble of thunder echoed through the place, as if the entirety of heaven itself was roaring.

Eryke stood frozen, his figure completely halted, every fiber of his being seemingly turned to stone.

The Aura Sword in his hand rapidly withered, and in the next moment, it vanished.

The giant Sword Will began to hum with a strange tune as the sheath expanded to match its size. Suddenly, the Sword Will soared into the sky, with the sheath right below it, both spiraling upward in wide circles.

At last, the Sword Will slid into the scabbard.

A deep hum rang out, vibrating and echoing throughout the land.

Eryke’s muscles twitched as clarity gradually returned to his eyes, yet even so, he remained still.

Inside his mind, countless thoughts surged, his entire comprehension of the Sword unraveling at once. His vision grew hazy, and in the next moment, he found himself in a dark place.

“Where am I?” he muttered with a frown, scanning his surroundings.

There was nothing but endless darkness. He tried to use his hivemind to snap out of the illusion, but this was reality.

“Just where in the hell am I?” He looked around in confusion and waited patiently, but nothing happened, only deepening his unease.

Strangely, his heart began to palpitate, and an ominous feeling rose within him.

“W… what is going on?” He sensed no presence, so where was it coming from?

Eryke felt a deep unease in his chest. The most terrifying thing was not a powerful foe, but an enemy shrouded in mystery.

If he knew who or what he was facing, then no matter how strong it was, he would not feel fear. But an enemy unknown, even weaker than him, was far more terrifying.

The horror of the unknown was always greater!

“Ho.” Eryke took a deep gulp of air, keeping calm even amidst the danger he felt. Closing his eyes, he stood perfectly still.

The palpitations in his chest faded, and his ears twitched as strange rhythms echoed around him.

He recognized them deep in his mind: sword rhythms.

Each frequency of vibration carried meaning, teaching him something new about the sword.

What startled him was not the presence of danger, but the realization that these were the sounds he had been hearing all along.

But he immediately capitalized on this boon, gradually committing the rhythm to heart while staying alert for any hint of danger around him.

To his absolute surprise, Eryke realized this was a profoundly deep swordplay, and with each rhythm, he grew stronger and stronger.

It wasn’t visible now, but his giant Sword Will was steadily growing, expanding toward its absolute limits.

If this continued, he couldn’t even imagine how powerful his Sword Will would become once he mastered it all.

And to his immense relief, though a faint sense of danger lingered, the more he comprehended the sword, the more that threat seemed to fade away.

Eryke wholeheartedly absorbed it all, devouring the knowledge like a voracious beast. He felt as though he were a disciple, learning under an unknown master.

An hour passed before everything faded away, leaving him disappointed. If it had continued, his Sword Will might have grown larger than an entire planet, he felt little doubt about that in his heart.

Slowly, he opened his eyes with calm composure and glanced around.

“Hmm?” He raised his brows in sheer puzzlement. The sword rhythm had ended, the darkness had lifted, and now he found himself standing in a white room.

“What the hell is this place?”

The place felt as if he had been pulled straight out of darkness. His pupils narrowed as they locked onto a strange statue before him.

It was life-sized, a man in a simple robe, a scabbard strapped to his waist, and his sword raised high toward the sky.

Just gazing at it, Eryke felt himself slipping into a trance. His entire comprehension of the Sword seemed to be challenged by the mere presence of the statue.

His steps faltered, growing unsteady, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.

“This… it hurts…” he murmured, rubbing his forehead.

Trembling, Eryke stood up from the ground and cautiously glanced at the statue again. He felt as if something was missing, though he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

“Why does this statue feel alive? No… it’s not alive, the sword feels alive.” He rubbed his eyes, unsure if he was imagining things, yet the sensation was undeniable. It refused to fade.

Fortunately, nothing harmed him, and he gradually calmed his breathing. At the same time, he sensed that he had somehow forged a connection with this place.

“Exit,” he murmured. Swish—his figure vanished, and he found himself back in the real world once more.

Three people were already staring at him, worry etched across their faces.

“What happened to you?” Geneva asked first.

“Nothing,” Eryke replied, shaking his head. “I feel like I might have discovered something.” He wore an expression of profound mystery.

That statue, he could feel it clearly, was a Heavenly Martial Artist, or perhaps even higher. His understanding of the Sword had already surpassed that of any Transcendent Martial Artist, yet the statue radiated a power far beyond his comprehension.

Before it, Eryke felt as though he were a mere ant staring up at a colossal elephant.

It was crystal clear to him that whatever it was, it far exceeded his current level. His Sword Will emerged from his body, now sheathed neatly in a scabbard.

“This… looks interesting.” His eyes flashed with curiosity.

“What are you thinking about, Eryke?” Geneva asked, worried.

“It’s nothing.” Shaking his head, Eryke turned toward Ma Zhilan. “Let’s leave this place.” Then he faced the two again. “I’ll send you to the Sound Sect first, where you’ll be safe for now.”

“Okay.”

The two nodded. Geneva hesitated, and Eryke immediately noticed. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“I… I think I can level up,” she admitted.
