Chapter 343: Dual Cultivation!?
Temporary, this was the core issue he was facing right now; his Righteous Heart skill only granted him limited power.

And within this Buddhist Martial Arts, there lay a solution to his problem.

Yi Xin narrowed his eyes, carefully reading the text, then looked back at the monk. “Thank you, monk.”

“Hahaha, it’s no problem, benefactor.” The monk bowed his head. “With your strength, I believe you can achieve many things. This little matter is almost nothing for you.”

“No, this will truly help me a great deal.” Yi Xin read it again and again before finally closing it and returning it to the monk.

“That is just a copy of the sutra. You do not have to worry, Benefactor; it is merely a gift to you,” the monk insisted.

“Alright.” Yi Xin nodded, took back the sutra, and calmly closed his eyes to meditate once more.

The monk smiled and returned to the camp with the other monks.

Left alone, Yi Xin quietly calculated in his heart, a hint of doubt lingering. “Will I be able to do it?”

The main focus of his attention was a Martial Arts Cultivation Technique called the Divine Strengthening. It was a fairly straightforward method of using Qi to strengthen the body, but while the concept was simple, the execution was quite complex.

Yi Xin wanted to modify this Martial Arts so that he could use his Golden Strands to cultivate it.

“I must be able to do it.”

Contemplating cautiously in his heart, he immediately set to work, his mind wheezing with thoughts as he tried to adapt the technique.

Just then, he sensed another presence behind him. Yi Xin raised his brows and paused his thoughts. “I wonder why the Taoist has graced me with your presence?”

“Haha, I just saw that bald monk visit you and then return. I was curious what you gave him,” the Taoist laughed, sitting on the rock beside Yi Xin, the same one where the bald monk had been.

“You are quite direct, aren’t you?” Yi Xin raised his eyebrows at the Taoist’s laugh.

“Haha, I like to be direct,” the Taoist admitted with a grin.

“He gave me the core teachings of the Buddhist sect, as well as the Martial Arts for it,” Yi Xin spoke honestly; there was no need to hide such a simple detail.

“Ho, that bald monk is usually stinky, but against a genius, he suddenly becomes so generous?” the Taoist said with intrigue.

“He said that the Martial Arts is not given based on who you are; instead, it is given to those who have the heart for it,” Yi Xin replied without hesitation.

“That is one heck of an interesting story. I don’t believe it,” the Taoist sneered in disdain, taking out a sutra of his own and handing it to Yi Xin.

Yi Xin took it, curiosity stirring in his heart. “What is this?”

“This is the core teaching of our sect. Instead of focusing on the body, it cultivates the mind and the soul. Without a sound soul, having a strong body is useless,” the Taoist hummed with disdain. “Those monks are nothing but muscle, yet they don’t realize that without brains, the body can never prevail.”

Yi Xin unrolled the scroll and roughly skimmed its contents, his expression intrigued.

‘This Martial Arts is almost the opposite of Buddhist Martial Arts,’ he thought, reading through the scriptures.

No wonder. Although the monk and the Buddhists didn’t have an outright enmity, they still seemed to interact well with each other. The fact that they were able to set up a shelter for the weak also showed their capacity for cooperation.

“Thank you.” Yi Xin turned to the middle-aged Taoist and expressed his gratitude sincerely.

“It is no problem,” the Taoist smiled at Yi Xin. “You can have your time, Leader Yi Xin.” He stood from the stone and walked away.

Yi Xin watched his retreating figure before turning his gaze back to the two scriptures.

The Taoist Sect Martial Arts calmed the mind and focused on the growth of the soul. You might think such a practice is useless in a fight, but you would be wrong. It allows one to develop a keen sense of danger and capitalize on the slightest mistake an opponent makes.

The scripture of the Buddhist sect cultivated the body, while the scripture of the Taoist sect cultivated the soul.

“But something is still missing.” His mind ran through every Martial Arts he knew, from Gang Reyong’s to Chun Ma’s to Eryke’s.

At last, a particular technique from Gang Reyong’s collection dawned on him.

It was one of the most forbidden Martial Arts in the world, scorned by all—but in the libraries, it was preserved as one of the most valuable texts:

Dual Cultivation!

The meeting of Yin and Yang.

“Cough, cough.” Yi Xin coughed, an embarrassed expression crossing his face. “Not the Martial Arts itself, but the concept of it.”

The body could be taken as Yang and the soul as Yin. If he could combine the two Martial Arts into one and cultivate them together, it would be perfect for him, but this was no easy task.

He not only had to combine the two, but also modify them to use his Golden Strands instead of Qi, which might alter their fundamental structure entirely.

“I am sure I can do it.”

Although the Martial Arts of both sects were different, their teachings were the same: the thought of goodwill and righteousness was at the core of it all.

This was why Yi Xin believed the two Martial Arts could be combined and adapted for his Golden Strands. As for why others hadn’t done it? Because it was an impossible task, even for a Transcendent Martial Artist.

The understanding required for both Martial Arts was profound, yet for most Martial Artists, a lifetime would be spent mastering just one, let alone both.

Yi Xin only had hope because of his own skills and all the knowledge inherited from the main body and the clones.
