Chapter 168: Chapter 168: The Wrath of the Saintess of War
The focus of cosmic destiny shifted dramatically, moving far from the conquered snows of the Southern Continent to a hidden dimension known only to the most ambitious cultivators: the Tower of Primordials.

This was the place where Vahn had once risked his life and secured the Void Refining Manual; it was a nexus where ambition met ancient trials.

On the highest habitable floors of the Tower, amidst swirling, chaotic spiritual currents, a single figure moved with a chilling, ruthless proficiency. This was Aria Stormsong, the Saintess of War, her golden armor faintly scorched by the elemental tribulations of the upper levels. Her spear flashed with dazzling, destructive lightning, dispatching an ancient, ethereal guardian with a single, perfectly executed thrust.

Aria’s power was breathtaking. She had fully embraced her destiny, pushing the limits of her combat potential.

Below her, on a platform reserved for resting and recovery, the tower climbers including Grand Emperors and powerful Sect Masters from various Sects whispered in awestruck reverence.

“Did you see that last move? Saintess Aria did not just defeat the Azure Spirit King; she annihilated its very essence. Her mastery over the Lightning Dao is terrifying,” one Sect Master muttered, clutching a healing pill.

“She has reached the Tribulation Realm,” another confirmed, his voice hushed. “It is undeniable. She is only one step away from transcending mortality and becoming an Earth Immortal. It is rumored she seeks a power hidden in these upper floors to stabilize her final tribulation.”

The conversation inevitably drifted, as all conversations in the known cosmos did lately, toward the figure who had violently shaken the world’s status quo.

“Yet, even with that terrifying strength, she is not the only power rising. Have you heard the reports from the Southern Continent?”

“How could we not? The Void Emperor, Vahn Necrotis. The Emperor who conquered the whole Southern Continent in seven days! He flattened the Holy Land of Ice and imprisoned their Saintess.”

A third cultivator shuddered, recalling the terrifying descriptions. “The technology! Hundreds of flying fortresses, cannons that blast through mountains! His army wasn’t an army; it was an invading higher realm power. There is such awe and fear surrounding him. They say he is the son of the Dragon Lord himself, and his mother is a true Earth Immortal.”

“He even broke the Heavenly Gods’ seals on his wives! He is openly defying the Divine Hierarchy! He is either a madman or the architect of a new cosmic age.”

The first subject of the climbers’ conversation, Aria Stormsong, heard everything clearly. Her spiritual senses, honed by years of relentless warfare, missed nothing.

Her brows furrowed, and her purple gaze darkened with intense, undeniable anger.

Aria had embarked on this perilous journey into the Tower of Primordials for one primary reason: to gain the strength necessary to capture Vahn. She intended to drag him back to the Righteous Faction and force him to answer for the chaos he had caused. She saw him as a dangerously unhinged, powerful relic who needed to be contained.

But while she was dedicating months to solitary perfection, he was openly conquering her ally, the Holy Land of Ice—the very lands she was sworn to protect. He was not contained; he was establishing an empire and challenging the Gods themselves. Her time was wasted, and her mission was being mocked by his sheer audacity.

A slow, terrifying realization dawned on her: Vahn was no longer just the demonic King she knew. He was a force of nature.

The spiritual guardian of the current platform, a massive rock golem, began to reform after her last strike. Aria ignored it entirely. She had no time for further trials.

A cold, absolute wrath seized her. She straightened her posture, and the lightning that usually danced around her spear surged outward in a blinding, destructive storm that shattered the surrounding formation arrays.

Aria did not walk; she thundered. She launched herself not toward the next trial, but out of the tower entirely. Her exit was a violent rejection of the Tower’s stability. She tore through the protective barriers, her body acting as a living lightning rod, leaving a gaping, smoking hole in the dimension of the Tower of Primordials.

“Oh heavens!”

The cultivators below watched in absolute terror as the manifestation of her immense power was witnessed by all. She had achieved the strength she sought, and she was coming home to exact vengeance.

Meanwhile, back in the sprawling, newly consolidated Imperial City, Necrotis, Vahn was engaged in the tedious, necessary work of governance. He was going through strategic plans for integrating the newly conquered territories, appointing loyal Kings from his own people (mostly capable military commanders like Ezekiel) to replace the abolished emperors and dukes.

“We must ensure the spiritual flow is redirected to the public works, not the old noble shrines,” Vahn instructed his Imperial Advisers, standing before a vast, holographic map of the continent.

Suddenly, the atmosphere within the Imperial Palace shattered.

KRRRAAA-KOOOOM!

The sky above the Imperial City, Necrotis, was violently torn open, not by Vahn’s precise, clean Void Gates, but by a terrifying, uncontrolled calamity lightning that rent the air and split the clouds. The storm was the furious, raw manifestation of a Tribulation Realm master’s unchecked rage.

Aria Stormsong descended from the fissure like a golden comet. She landed directly in the Imperial Garden, a few hundred meters from the Throne Room, creating a massive, smoking crater. Her eyes blazed with purple lightning, fixed solely on Vahn.

The Imperial Advisers and guards immediately drew their weapons, surrounding the intruder, but Vahn waved them back with a single, calm gesture.

Vahn looked at the fierce warrior who was once his wife, noting her massive leap in power. He allowed a faint smile to touch his lips.

Aria, seeing the supreme arrogance in his calm demeanor, channeled her full, terrifying strength. Her voice, amplified by the Lightning Dao, was a domineering declaration that shook the glass panes of the palace.

“Vahn Necrotis! You’re coming with me. Now!”

Vahn simply waved his Imperial Advisers away, giving them a brief, dismissive nod.

“Leave us alone. Secure the perimeter.”

“As you wish, your imperial majesty!”

He then watched until he and Aria were the only two figures remaining in the vast, open golden field of the Imperial Garden, bathed in the deep orange light of the setting sun.

The surrounding atmosphere crackled with the potential for unparalleled devastation.

Vahn sheathed his sword, adopting a casual stance. “It’s been a long time, Aria. You certainly know how to make an entrance. But if you want to lecture me on my methods, I suggest we do it somewhere with a much sturdier ground.”
