Chapter 876: Corvan’s Despair
The ground was covered in blood, dead bodies lying everywhere. Every corpse had a horrifying expression on its face—eyes wide open, as if their final moments were filled with unbearable shock.

Corvan stood up from the ground, coughing harshly as his trembling legs struggled to support his own weight.

He looked at the bodies of his fallen comrades with a somber expression, tears streaming down his cheeks as he slowly approached each lifeless form.

Seeing the terror etched on their faces left him traumatized. He knew those expressions would haunt him for the rest of his life.

His lips quivered, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to break down openly. Still, he couldn’t hold back the tears as he suddenly dropped to his knees before the bodies.

“Please… forgive me for bringing you all here just to die. That was never my intention,” he said, his voice trembling with guilt.

And he continued, “We greatly underestimated our enemy… he is far stronger than we imagined. We are not beings who can fight a monster like him… it’s far too late for regret now.”

“I regret my arrogance… I regret ever coming here and dragging all of you into this, only for that monster to slaughter you. As your leader, this is all my fault.” He apologized, struggling to contain the tears that kept falling.

Wiping his eyes, he stood up and began storing each of the dead bodies inside his Magic Pouch, placing them one by one with a shaking hand.

Once he finished, he dragged his weakened legs toward the kingdom’s exit. The giant eagles were all slaughtered by Yuan, leaving him no way to fly out of this place.

He now had no choice but to rely on his own feet to escape the kingdom and contact the High Heaven for retrieval.

Once he crossed the border of the Elven Kingdom, Corvan immediately used his Magic Transmission Device to contact someone from the High Heaven.

—

Meanwhile, Yuan arrived back at the Elven Palace, where Anna Grace and the others were still seated in the living area.

“Did I make you wait long?” Yuan asked with a gentle smile as he walked into the room, his gaze sweeping over each of his wives.

“Not at all, Darling.” Anna Grace gave him a soft smile and patted the space beside her, gesturing for him to sit. “But tell me… is it really a good idea to let that fool walk away alive?”

“I don’t think it will cause any trouble. Since I’ve fought a high-ranking god now, I understand what they’re truly capable of.” Yuan replied confidently as he sat beside her.

“Is that so…? Hearing that makes me feel at ease.” Kitsura breathed out softly with a small smile, her posture as graceful and alluring as ever.

“Those so-called gods are far too arrogant for their own good. But this time, they provoked the wrong person.” Angela added with a smile.

“Indeed. They have now learned their lesson… but the hard way,” Vanessa added while nodding her head.

“I doubt they’ll let this matter go. They aren’t the type to back off when their reputation is at stake,” Valeria said with a calm expression, crossing her arms as she leaned against the sofa.

By now, the news of a group of gods being slaughtered inside the Elven Kingdom had spread far and wide across the entire continent.

After all, this kind of event travels faster than normal rumors, since gods—beings capable of wielding pure Mana—being killed is virtually unheard of.

And now, the sudden deaths of such beings occurring inside the Elven Kingdom was something many people could not accept so easily.

Upon hearing the shocking news, people across the continent were utterly flabbergasted. The same question echoed in everyone’s minds—how could anyone kill a god?

And not just one, but multiple gods.

Some people insisted it had to be a massive lie. Yet others swore they had seen gods flying toward the Elven Kingdom on giant eagles.

Many confirmed witnessing the gods heading toward the kingdom atop their massive eagles.

Even so, people found it nearly impossible to believe that so many gods were killed there. Most mortals lived and died without ever seeing a god with their own eyes—yet someone had managed to slay several on their own.

This news swept across the continent like a storm. Everyone was desperate to know who this mysterious figure was—the one capable of killing gods from ancient legends.

Many tribes began searching for information about the man who slaughtered the gods, hoping to persuade him to mate with their young women so they could produce a powerful warrior for their tribes.

—

A giant eagle descended from the High Heavens after detecting Corvan’s distress signal, and a rescue team of gods immediately headed toward the Elven Kingdom.

“The distress signal came from that direction. Lord Corvan must be somewhere over there,” one of the gods said, pointing toward the distant horizon.

“Indeed,” another god replied with a serious expression. “The signal definitely originated from that area. I wonder what happened to him, calling us so urgently and suddenly.”

“Could it really be that the enemy he faced was so powerful that he had no choice but to retreat?”

“That’s extremely unlikely. Lord Corvan is one of the strongest Divine Knights of the High Heaven. There is no way he could lose to a mere mortal.”

“Well, let’s just focus on reaching Lord Corvan as soon as possible. We’ll understand the situation once we meet him.”

“Agreed.” The other god nodded with a serious look on his face.

And shortly after, the eagle increased its pace, reaching an incredible speed within seconds, moving so fast that a loud noise echoed as its massive body sliced through the air.

As the eagle shot forward at insane speed, the powerful gusts of wind generated by its wings could be felt by many people below as it passed over their heads.

Soon, they arrived near their destination as Corvan’s Mana signal grew stronger, and the Elven Kingdom became clearly visible to the two gods.

Looking around, they spotted Corvan standing on the ground, covered in blood, weakly waving his hand to signal them to land.

“W-What happened to Lord Corvan? And where are the rest of the members?”

“He doesn’t look well at all. Let’s land quickly and give him a powerful healing potion to stop the bleeding!” the other god shouted in panic before ordering the eagle to descend.

Once the eagle touched the ground in front of Corvan, the two gods immediately leapt off and rushed toward him, concern etched across their faces.

“L-Lord Corvan! What happened to you?! Who did this to you?!” one of them asked in a panicked voice, his tone trembling with disbelief.

The man standing before them was one of the most powerful Divine Knights, serving directly under the God King—admired by thousands of gods, desired by countless women who would fight for a chance to be with him.

Yet now, seeing that very man in such a pathetic state made their eyes widen in shock. Their expressions darkened instantly when they noticed he had no visible injuries anywhere on his body.

‘What in the world happened to him? What kind of power can make him bleed like this without leaving a single wound?’ Both gods thought the same thing as they stared at Corvan’s battered state.

Corvan didn’t speak at first. He remained silent with a dazed expression, unable to process the events that had unfolded so quickly and violently.

“Everyone is dead… everyone lost their lives because we—because I was too arrogant and greatly underestimated the enemy…” Corvan finally spoke, his voice trembling.

“Dead?!” Both gods shouted together, their faces filled with utter disbelief.

“H-How is that even possible?! There is no way so many of us couldn’t defeat a single mortal!” one of the gods yelled, refusing to believe Corvan’s words.

“Exactly! There’s no way a mortal man could defeat us—gods! We are the pinnacle of power!” the other god echoed confidently.

Corvan listened to their arrogant claims and shook his head with a heavy sigh. He couldn’t help but pity himself—for being just as arrogant, for looking down on the very man who killed all his subordinates and left him in such a hopeless state.

“Hmph! I was also arrogant just like you two when I met that man… but I’ve learned my lesson now. If you continue acting this way, you’ll understand what true despair really is…” Corvan chuckled weakly before dragging his injured legs toward the eagle and climbing on top of it.

“,,”

“What was that supposed to mean? Did he lose his mind after being beaten into this state?” one of the gods asked, confusion etched on his face.

“I have no idea,” the other god replied with a shrug before climbing onto the eagle as well.

The next second, the eagle flapped its massive wings and soared into the sky, heading toward the High Heaven—the great floating island in the distance—flying high through the clouds.

—

In the Golden Throne of the Divine Palace, the King of the Gods sat in a heavy silence. His eyes were bloodshot with rage, and the air around him crackled with oppressive tension.

Aside from a few angels standing behind him, no one else was present in the vast throne hall. The king sat alone—still, silent, but unmistakably furious.

“So many of my people died instantly… what in the world happened there?” he muttered in a low, dangerous voice, staring at the floor.

His grip tightened around the armrests of the throne, and the angels behind him trembled as waves of anger pulsed through the room.

“And they all died at the same time… killed in an instant. It makes no sense. What kind of power did that mortal use to slaughter my people?”

“What sort of ability can kill so many gods at once? Does such a thing even exist in this world?” Countless questions echoed in his mind, forcing him into deep thought.

He had studied countless ancient scriptures and fragments of old texts—whatever remained decipherable. But not a single one mentioned a power like this.

All the writings spoke endlessly about meditation. Even the ancient symbols he couldn’t decipher still referenced meditation—nothing more.

There was no mention of any force capable of fighting gods, much less butchering them like trapped animals.

Sometime later, the massive golden doors of the throne hall opened with a soft hum, followed by the sound of footsteps as two men entered confidently.

One of them pushed a wooden wheelchair, with Corvan sitting on it, staring blankly ahead. His mind replayed the scene of Yuan slaughtering the gods without even lifting a finger.

Upon reaching the throne, both gods immediately dropped to one knee and bowed their heads in deep respect.

“Your Highness, we have brought Lord Corvan to you. His condition is poor—and worsening with every passing moment,” one of them reported without daring to lift his head.

“You two may leave us,” the God King said coldly, his voice void of emotion as powerful waves of mana swept across the hall.

“W-We understand, Your Highness.” The two gods froze in fear before scrambling out of the throne hall.
