Chapter 874: Against The Grup Of Gods
Anna Grace immediately stood up from the sofa and looked at Yuan with a smile before asking, “Do you want our help?”
“No need. I’ll take care of this myself,” Yuan replied with a smirk, adding, “You all should stay here and watch the fun through your Divine Sense.”
“Are you sure about this?” Emma asked with a worried look, stepping closer as she stared into his eyes.
“I’m completely sure.” Yuan nodded with a smile and walked outside.
Once he left the palace, he flew into the sky with a faint smile on his face, his gaze locked on the massive eagles circling above the kingdom.
Every god was watching the streets and every open space carefully. They held their weapons tightly, prepared for anything.
In the blink of an eye, Yuan appeared above them, standing in the air as he observed each god riding atop the massive eagles.
“Shall we start attacking the kingdom? We’ve already waited long enough, and that mortal still hasn’t shown his face,” one of the gods complained with impatience.
“Wait a few minutes. Don’t you think it’s strange that no one has made a move yet?” the commander said, his eyes serious.
“What strange thing are you talking about, Lord Corvan? I haven’t noticed anything odd at all,” one of the gods replied with a confused expression.
Corvan sighed softly, pointed toward the streets, and said, “Look. There isn’t a single soldier patrolling, no troops rushing out even though they know we’re here.”
“I’ve fought countless battles… and I can clearly sense that something is wrong,” he added with a solemn look.
After his words, a heavy silence fell. The air grew intense, carrying a dreadful weight that sent shivers through everyone.
“Absolutely. There is definitely something wrong… but it’s too late for you to realize that.”
Suddenly, a voice rang out from above, a voice that made their hearts pound violently, like drums inside their chests.
Everyone immediately looked up, and their eyes widened in disbelief as they saw a man standing in the sky with a calm expression.
The moment they noticed his presence, the air around them grew heavy, as if an invisible force was pressing against their lungs.
“H-How is he able to stand in the air like that??” one of the gods muttered, completely stunned.
“Is he using some kind of magical artifact to stay suspended like that?” another god whispered in confusion.
“T-This is impossible… not even the God King is capable of doing something like this…”
“Just what kind of trick is he using to stand in the air like that?!”
“I refuse to believe he’s flying! He must be using some cheap trick to fool us all!”
The gods muttered among themselves, their shocked whispers spreading through the air like wildfire, each forming a different conclusion.
However, Corvan remained composed despite the initial shock, though he couldn’t help feeling curious about how Yuan was standing in the air so effortlessly.
‘What kind of technique is he using to float like that? Could it be an ancient artifact? Something from the Blank Era we still can’t decipher?’ he wondered, his gaze firm as he examined every inch of Yuan from head to toe.
‘I wonder how long he’s been watching us from above… we didn’t sense his presence at all!’ he cried inwardly, startled by the realization.
Still, Corvan had his honor to uphold. As the commander appointed by the God King himself, he couldn’t allow the other gods to see his unrest or disappointment.
“How long have you been watching us?” Corvan asked with a calm expression, suppressing his inner turmoil as much as he could.
“Even before you arrived… the moment you approached this kingdom, I was already watching you,” Yuan replied casually, his expression firm and completely confident. “After all, you made quite the ruckus on your way here.”
“What?! That’s impossible!!” the other gods shouted, their eyes wide with disbelief.
“You’re spouting nonsense! There’s no way you were watching us the whole time!!”
“If you want to fool someone, fool those lowly mortals! We’re gods! Your ridiculous words won’t deceive us!”
The gods shouted at Yuan, utterly refusing to accept what he said. To them, it was absurd. There was no way a human could sense their arrival from such a great distance.
After all, even gods couldn’t completely see or know everything. To them, Yuan was speaking pure nonsense.
“So, what was the reason for you idiots to surround the Elven Kingdom? Why did you come here?” Yuan asked calmly, without the slightest flicker of fear.
“I’m glad you asked, otherwise I would have crippled you before dragging you back to the Palace of Divinity!” Corvan said with a wide grin as he tightened his grip on the handle of his giant axe.
“Is that so?” Yuan chuckled softly, then his expression turned cold. “So I was right all along… you fools did come for me.”
“That’s right,” another god said with an arrogant smile. “You might as well surrender willingly. If you refuse, I can’t promise you’ll remain in one piece.”
“Oh? Bold words for a mere ant like you. Tell me, where does your confidence come from?” Yuan asked, lifting his hand parallel to the ground, a faint smirk forming.
Suddenly, a small tremor spread as the space around Yuan distorted before the Empyreal Oblivion appeared in his grip.
The sheer size of the sword stunned the gods. They stared in disbelief at the massive blade, which stood as tall as Yuan himself and was just as bulky.
A burst of spiritual energy erupted from the sword, sending the giant eagles into a frenzy. They thrashed their wings wildly, trembling in terror as they sensed a danger capable of ending their lives.
Seeing the eagles’ fear, Yuan’s smirk widened. The creatures clearly recognized the overwhelming presence of the sword, enough to terrify them to their core.
Meanwhile, the gods felt a chilling wave crawl down their spines. The moment the sword appeared in Yuan’s hand, the air trembled, followed by a suffocating, eerie silence.
“W-What kind of sword is that?! I’ve never seen anything that huge!!”
“Even though I can’t sense mana from it, it’s still scaring me!”
“Isn’t it too heavy?! How is he holding it with one hand?! A sword like that should be impossible to wield!”
“And its craftsmanship… it’s breathtaking. It looks more like a divine treasure meant for display rather than a weapon meant to kill.”
Several gods muttered in disbelief, their voices filling the air, while Corvan—the commander—stared at the sword with a grim expression.
From his experience alone, he could tell this sword had witnessed countless wars and had been drenched in endless blood.
Just looking at it made his heart throb violently, pounding in his chest as if warning him to flee.
‘Is it the sword that’s dangerous… or this man as well? I can’t tell at all…’ Corvan thought, sweat forming on his forehead as the crushing tension clawed at him.
“Since you share the same intentions as the two idiots before you… don’t blame me for wiping you all out from this world…” Yuan said coldly, and in the next instant, he vanished from where he stood.
Corvan’s expression immediately froze upon seeing Yuan vanish before his eyes in the blink of an instant. He became fully alert, relying on decades of battle experience.
However, the rest of the gods looked puzzled and stunned, assuming Yuan had fled.
“Look at that bastard. He ran away with his tail between his legs after all that arrogance!”
“Indeed. All bark and no bite! Laughable for a mere mortal!”
“Hahahaha!!”
Laughter filled the sky as most of the gods mocked Yuan for disappearing so suddenly.
“These idiots…” Corvan cursed under his breath as a sense of dread gripped his heart. He had no idea when or where Yuan would strike.
In the blink of an eye, Yuan appeared before one of the giant eagles, his sword raised high, ready to unleash a devastating attack on both the eagle and the gods standing on its back.
“It’s time to die…” Yuan said with a wide grin before a wave of Spiritual Energy erupted from his body.
“One Sword, One Strike…” Yuan whispered, and the blade instantly radiated a terrifying aura, glowing with a blinding blue light.
Corvan’s eyes widened as he realized Yuan was about to attack his squad, panic spreading across his face.
“WATCH OUT!!!” he roared, his voice cracking with desperation.
But it was too late. Yuan had already swung his sword, sending a powerful sword arc toward the squad at unimaginable speed.
“What the—” Before the gods could even react, the sword arc hit the eagle, and the gods standing on it vanished in an instant.
The massive eagle split cleanly in two, and the two gods riding it were also sliced apart. The remaining four gods tumbled from the sky along with the eagle’s remains.
The attack’s sheer force sent the sword arc flying onward until it slammed into a distant mountain, destroying nearly half of it with a deafening explosion that echoed through the entire kingdom and far beyond.
Boom!! A powerful shockwave tore through the air as the sword arc erased nearly half of the mountain in the distance.
The strength of the attack left the gods utterly stunned, their eyes widened in disbelief as they stared at the ruined mountain.
It felt like witnessing a miracle, something as impossible as a dead person returning to life.
“Aaaghh!!” The four gods screamed and began crawling on the ground as several of their bones had been broken from the powerful impact.
All of them started vomiting blood as they suffered heavy internal injuries, feeling pain they had never even imagined before.
Corvan watched the scene in utter disbelief, his eyes wide with shock and his mouth frozen open.
“W-What the hell just happened?!” one of the gods exclaimed, unable to believe what he was seeing.
“H-He… what kind of magic did he use in that attack? Why didn’t I sense any mana from it?!”
“Me too… I didn’t sense anything besides a chill down my spine… for a moment, it felt like the world stopped.”
Quickly, puzzled and disbelieving whispers spread among the gods, every one of them completely stunned by what Yuan had done.
“You bunch of fools! What are you waiting for? Kill that bastard now!!” Corvan roared at the top of his lungs, his eyes burning with rage as he glared at Yuan.
“We’re waiting for your command, Lord Corvan… you didn’t say anything, so we haven’t acted yet,” one of the gods responded in a strange tone.
“,,” Corvan was stunned by this; his mouth opened and closed, but no words came out, unable to form a response.
‘Fools! Every one of them is completely useless! Why did His Highness choose them for such an important task?!’ he cried inwardly, gritting his teeth in frustration.
“Since I have now given you the order to attack, why are you still not attacking him?! Do you want him to kill more of us?!” he shouted again, his voice filled with anger and frustration.
After taking a deep breath, he pointed his giant axe at Yuan and shouted, “Kill him!! Now!!”
