Chapter 389: Progenitor of the Human race
“Nini, tell me your functions now,” Ethan asked.

“Master, at present I can contain a space comparable to the internal space of a Primordial being.

The time field can now accelerate time by one hundred thousand times.

I can also block prying perception from beings up to two realms above your current realm.”

Ethan was stunned by her words.

“Are you saying that you are now connected to my origin and can block the perception of anyone two realms higher than me? I am currently at the Emperor level, so you can already block the prying eyes of a Primordial. And if I break through to the Progenitor realm, you will be able to block the perception of a Genesis realm existence?”

“Yes, Master. That is correct. But there should be a limit, but I will need to test that limit myself.”Nini replied gently.

“Even so, that is more than enough. I will use your time field first.”

Just as Ethan was about to enter the space cube, a portal suddenly opened beneath his feet, and he fell straight into it.

He could have resisted the pull easily, but he chose not to. He wanted to see what was happening.

In the next instant, Ethan appeared inside a cave. It was not very large, narrow and silent, as if forgotten by time.

At the far end of the cave, a human figure sat cross legged.

The body was clearly dead, yet there were unmistakable traces of lingering vitality.

Ethan slowly approached the corpse.

The moment he crossed the invisible boundary about five meters away from the corpes, his body was instantly slammed into the ground.

The pressure erupting from the corpse was so terrifying that Ethan could not even begin to guess its realm.

Blood burst from his mouth, eyes, and nose.

For the first time in a long while, Ethan felt the presence of true death.

“Am I going to die like this? Like a pathetic existence, killed by nothing more than the residual pressure of a higher existential corpse?”

He refused to accept that ending.

Just as despair began to creep into his thoughts, the pressure abruptly vanished.

Ethan slowly pushed himself up. His injuries healed within moments, as if they had never existed.

Above the corpse, a soul projection slowly formed.

“Hello. Apologies for troubling you in such a crude manner. My name is Edrin Solace. It is a pleasure to meet you.”, it introduced itself softly.

Ethan was not surprised. Truly powerful beings often left fragments of their soul behind, either as guardians, messages, or remnants of will.

“I am Ethan Hunt,” he replied calmly. “May I ask why you brought me here?”

“You possess the Aura of Oblivion within your soul. I sensed it the moment you set foot on this planet.”

“The Aura of Oblivion?” Ethan frowned. “What is that?”

“Did you recently encounter a strange red eye that threatened to kill you?” the soul asked gently.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“How do you know that?”

“I experienced something similar,” Edrin said, smiling faintly.

“So you know about it as well?” Ethan asked, his expression turning cold and focused.

“Not only do I know of it, I attempted to break free from this cage long ago. That is why I was killed.”

“Which realm were you in?” Ethan asked.

“I had reached the Source Authority Realm. That is six realms above the Progenitor Realm. And even then, there exists one realm higher within this cage. The Absolute Continuum Realm.”

Ethan inhaled sharply.

“Is there truly a limit to power? Then my earlier theory was wrong. I believed power progression was infinite, but that there was no way to surpass a certain threshold.”

“Oh?” Edrin’s expression turned intrigued. “You arrived at such a theory on your own, despite being in such a low realm? You truly are an anomaly. Your conclusion was almost correct, but there is one flaw.”

“A flaw?” Ethan asked.

“There are no infinite realms. The realms are fixed.”

“The highest realm is the Absolute Continuum Realm, and only two existences occupy it. Their power continues to grow endlessly, but no one else can reach that level. They are the anchors of this cage.”

“They also serve as its executioners.”

“The red eye you encountered is known as the One Above All. He is the Absolute Continuum Being of the positive plane of existence. He has placed a death mark upon you.”, the soul said seriously.

“So no one can reach the Absolute Continuum Realm because of those two bastards, let alone surpass this cage system. Is that correct?” Ethan asked coldly.

“That is correct. I attempted it even after being warned. As a result, he killed me. However, I prepared this inheritance long before my death and severed its karma from myself.”

“You said you tried. That means you had a clear path,” Ethan said. “What was it?”

“If you listen to me, you will inherit my karma in addition to your own,” Edrin replied. “Do you still wish to hear it?”

“Yes,” Ethan answered without hesitation.

“Very well.”

Edrin gestured for Ethan to sit. Both of them sat cross legged, facing one another.

“To escape this cage, two conditions must be fulfilled. First, you must create a law that exists outside the three thousand laws. Second, you must create your own race.”

“After countless years of research, I came to understand that the three thousand laws were each created by three thousand different entities.”

“I believe those entities exist outside this cage.”

“Each of them possesses their own race. This conclusion came from observing every race within the cage.”

“There are approximately two thousand nine hundred original races here. All other races are derivatives of them.”

“I believe the remaining one hundred exist elsewhere, beyond my perception.”

“Each original race embodies a singular law.”

“That is why I created the human race. A race capable of holding any law.”

“My intention was to later integrate my own law into them once it was complete.”

“But I failed.”

“I was never able to create my own law. My continuous attempts angered the One Above All, and he executed me.”

“That is why the human race is despised by all creation. They are monitored constantly due to their boundless potential.”

Edrin fell silent.

Ethan stood frozen, his mind shaking.

He was standing before the progenitor of the human race.

“So I need to create my own race, one that bears only my law,” Ethan said slowly.

“This is only my theory,” Edrin replied. “But based on their reactions, it should be correct.”

“However, creating a race alone proves nothing. That race must rival the original races. Every member of those races is born above the Primordial Realm.”

Ethan felt dizzy.

He was still only an Emperor.

Suddenly, a memory surfaced.

The girl who had attacked him.

She claimed to be from the Genesis Vampire Race.

That should be an original race.

Their law was likely the Law of Blood.

“You are thinking of creating a race,” Edrin said softly. “Why not go further?”

“Become the progenitor of the entire human race and elevate it into an origin race.”

“I know you possess far greater potential than I ever did.”
