Chapter 349: Ethan took action again
The space was cracking. It was not because the entity was releasing any aura or anything. It was just cracking because the space of this area could not handle the pressure of his mere presence.
In front of Ragnarok, in front of everyone, an entity appeared.
Instantly, everyone who came with Edmond knelt down.
The man stepped through the shattered space, his presence so godly it felt like watching the birth of a new dimensional world.
He was wearing a white robe. His eyes were completely white and his skin was not human skin. It looked like the skin was made of jade.
He had three horns on his head. He was not a human or a demon. He was something else.
“I asked you to stop, did I not?” a calm and quiet voice came out from the mouth of that man. But it felt like a horn of apocalypse in Ragnarok’s ears. Instantly, his brain almost became a mesh.
His presence was so domineering it felt like the entire creation was moving around him.
“What is one of them doing here?” Ragnarok felt his legs shaking. He had seen Ethan’s power, so he was not as afraid as that time, but he was still shaken to his core.
Because the entity that came here was not a sector lord or an overlord.
It was a sovereign. It was an entity who was above everyone and only under the monarchs.
Under a sovereign, countless overlords worked and under an overlord, countless sector lords worked.
Suddenly, an energy entered Ragnarok’s body.
It was almost peeling all his secrets.
“Oh? An ancient demon possessed the body of a sector lord? How did you do it?” There was an amusing tone in his voice.
He could see that this demon had possessed this body with someone’s help, but he could not see the face of that person.
“How can this be? Who can escape from my gaze except the supreme monarchs? A monarch helped him? That is impossible.” The entity was in deep thought.
“Tell me, demon, who was behind you? If you tell me, I will spare your life.”
Ragnarok did not say anything. He was enduring the pain. He had an absolute loyalty toward Ethan.
“Fuck off, you damn bastard. I am not afraid of you.”
Ragnarok roared at the entity. He knew his master would save him at the last point.
“Oh? A pesky bug like you is cursing me? Where are you getting your courage from? You do know that I can cease your death and make you fall into eternal torture, right?” He still did not get angry.
Ragnarok stopped talking after that.
But suddenly, the sovereign’s eyes landed on the almost fractured Origin Dimension and a secret realm inside it.
That realm attracted his attention because he could not see inside the realm.
His mental domain could not enter that realm. Something was blocking his sense.
Instantly, he became excited.
He was sure that a monarch would not come here. That meant there might be a treasure capable enough to block his sense.
“I am so damn lucky. I was just bored, that is why I decided to come here, but I did not think that a treasure of that level would appear here.”
Ragnarok saw his greedy gaze toward the direction where Ethan was watching the drama outside like he was in a cinema hall. He was eating popcorns too.
“A seventieth dimensional being? Why is he looking here?” Ethan was frustrated. His plan again foiled up. He just wanted to use Ragnarok and gain some cultivation resources and then leave here. But now this unknown entity appeared here out of nowhere.
The sovereign started tearing apart the Origin Dimension.
His aura surged.
The graveyard realm where Ethan was started to tear apart slowly. But Ethan’s presence made it impenetrable.
The sovereign’s eyes narrowed.
“So. A hidden realm, and one shielded by dimensional layers I do not recognize.”
He lifted his hand.
A supreme power gushed out from his body.
The secret realm’s outer shell cracked.
Ragnarok gritted his teeth. The presence was too suffocating. Just being near this being felt like sinking into a black hole.
The sovereign’s voice deepened.
“I will tear apart every layer of this secret realm and drag out its master by force.”
He raised his hand higher.
Reality bent to break.
And then, everything stopped.
Every atom. Every breath. Every law. Every dimension.
It was as if a new law had been written:
You will freeze.
The sovereign’s expression shifted for the first time.
“…What?”
A soft footstep echoed across the collapsing dimension.
Then another.
Then the secret realm split with elegance, with indifference, with the ease of a bored god opening a curtain.
A young man walked out.
His steps were too calm, too quiet. There was not a single ounce of aura around him.
He stepped onto the broken void as if it were a marble floor.
Ethan had decided to activate his full power again. This bastard was getting on his nerve now.
He was not radiating any power. He did not glow like a cosmic being. He did not summon storms or bend realities.
He simply was walking on the void.
And that alone suffocated the world.
Ragnarok collapsed to one knee, a pure overwhelming reverence coming to his eyes.
The sovereign was staring at him. And for the first time, shock and raw unfiltered fear rippled through his ancient face.
The aura he felt…
The depth…
The silence…
This man was like he was above everything he had ever seen.
He was not a monarch.
This was something that would even make the monarchs kneel.
The sovereign, ruler of millions of overlords and sector lords, felt his throat tighten.
“You…” he whispered. “What… what are you?”
Ethan looked at him with a mild expression, like someone appraising a slightly amusing insect.
“You came here to kill my subordinate,” Ethan said. “Why?”
The sovereign felt his soul shiver.
“I… I misunderstood…”
“That much is obvious.”
The sovereign swallowed. His legs started trembling. His godly aura vanished at that point. He was like a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
He wanted to kneel.
He forced himself not to. Sovereigns do not kneel. It was forbidden. It was taboo. It was impossible.
But when Ethan took one step forward, the sovereign’s knees hit the space so hard the shockwave shattered the space of thousands of kilometres.
Ragnarok’s eyes widened in awe.
The sovereign bowed his head so low it scraped the broken fabric of space.
“Forgive me,” he whispered, voice cracking. “I did not know. I was blind. I was ignorant. Spare me, please sir.”
Ethan looked down at him, then waved dismissively.
“I do not care about you. I am only annoyed that you delayed my plans.”
The sovereign’s body shook violently.
“Y-Yes. Of course. I will erase all traces. Edmond will be declared missing. The Origin Dimension incident will be sealed. I will swear upon my existence never to speak of this.”
“You will not,” Ethan replied lightly. “Because you will forget the incident today and also forget that you had treasures on you.”
He placed a hand on the sovereign’s head.
The dimension turned white.
The sovereign felt his memories compressing, dissolving, reshaping.
His scream was silent. His soul melted under Ethan’s bare touch.
Ethan removed his hand and he was now holding all the treasures on his body. He had a creepy smile at this point.
The sovereign collapsed like a puppet cut from its strings. When he looked up again, his eyes were empty with confusion.
“How… did I get here?”
Ethan had erased everything.
He flicked his finger.
The sovereign vanished from the dimension, sent countless light years away with no memory of what transpired.
Ragnarok stared at his master in awe.
“My lord…”
Ethan looked at him, tone mildly amused.
“You almost died.”
“I… apologize.”
“Do not. You held out longer than I expected.”
Ethan turned toward the distant horizon, where remnants of the sovereign’s aura still lingered.
“Let us go. Staying here longer will attract more insects.”
Ragnarok bowed deeply. “Where to, my lord?”
Ethan smiled faintly.
