Chapter 321: Joining the drama
Though Samael was extremely angry right now, he still had a smile on his face when he looked at the person in the sky.
What could he do? The man in the sky was an SS rank hunter, two levels higher than him, and one of the most powerful beings in the world.
“Lord Elindros, my father asked me to take this boy to the family. They are also on their way here,” Samael said humbly.
“Hmm?”
The man snorted coldly, and an immense amount of pressure fell on Samael.
“You dare to refuse my order? You may return. I will talk to your father later.”
Samael fell to the ground and puked blood.
Everyone was watching this scene with trembling bodies.
Right now, they were in the presence of a supreme being who could make even Lord Samael look like a helpless child.
Samael was already losing consciousness from the pressure, but at that moment, another similar pressure arrived from afar.
“Elindros, you bastard! How dare you attack someone from the Aurelion family?” An extremely handsome middle-aged man wearing an advanced battle suit appeared in the air.
The pressure on Samael vanished instantly.
“Hmm. He dared to refuse to listen to my orders. What do you expect me to do?”
Samael stood up and bowed.
“Thank you, Grandpa.”
“Did I hear that right? Did Sir Samael just call that man Grandpa? Doesn’t that mean he is the master of the Aurelion family, Lord Alexander Aurelion?”
People began whispering among themselves, though carefully, afraid of being noticed.
“He was acting under my order. And that boy, our Aurelion family found him first. So as per the rules of the empire, we will keep him.”
But Elindros wasn’t someone who would back down that easily.
“Huh, who said your family found him first? I was present here too, you know,” Elindros said with a mocking tone.
Alexander cursed under his breath. “What a bastard.”
He was sure this old fox wasn’t here earlier. He must have been nearby, and someone must have informed him later. If he had been here from the beginning, there was no way he would have allowed Samael to contact the family.
Alexander snorted coldly.
“Everyone here saw who arrived first.”
Elindros’s mocking grin widened. Who among these people would dare to speak against him in this small city?
“Is that so? Then ask everyone. Let’s see who dares to tell the truth you’re talking about,” he said, clearly threatening them.
Alexander could only curse silently but didn’t say anything to him.
He looked at the crowd.
“I am Alexander Aurelion. If anyone can tell me the truth, I promise to protect you and your entire family and grant a lifetime’s worth of wealth. Is there anyone brave enough to speak?”
Elindros smiled faintly.
“Surely, you will protect them for the rest of their generations and all their bloodlines as well, keeping them within your family estate. Am I right?”
“Elindros, you bastard, how dare you threaten the commoners? It is strictly prohibited in the empire to do that. Do you want me to file a report?”
Alexander was desperate now. He couldn’t let an SSS rank talent slip from his hands. He would even fight Elindros if that became his last resort.
Elindros snorted coldly but didn’t reply.
On the other hand, Alex, the protagonist, was watching the whole scene with intense excitement. He didn’t care which family he ended up with.
He would be happy to go either way. He wasn’t like those protagonists who would say something like, “My destiny is in my hands, and I will carve my own path. I don’t want to join any faction,” kind of nonsense.
No way he would make enemies everywhere by saying something that ridiculous.
Someone else was also watching the scene with equal, if not greater, excitement.
“Umm, sir. I saw what happened. If you keep your word, I am willing to give an official statement.”
The entire crowd froze the moment they heard that voice.
“Who is this idiot? Actually daring to put his nose into the business of gods? Has he lost his will to live? Doesn’t he have any family or friends?”
As soon as Ethan spoke, countless reactions filled the crowd.
Alexander felt as if he had found a straw in the middle of the ocean, while Elindros felt like someone had thrown a mosquito into his food.
Everyone turned toward the direction of the voice.
They saw a young man around sixteen years old with an average appearance standing there, looking innocent and calm.
Alexander vanished from his spot and appeared beside Ethan instantly. He was afraid Elindros might take action against him if he hesitated for even a moment.
“Boy, are you telling the truth? You are willing to give your official statement?” Alexander asked with hope in his voice.
“Yes, sir. I don’t have any family or friends in the world. I don’t have any background either. So I have nothing to fear. I only have an F-grade talent, so I won’t go very far in cultivation anyway.
If you promise to keep your word, support my cultivation with resources, and protect me, I am willing to give my official statement.”
There was no way Ethan would miss the chance to join in on this drama. He had come here just to have some fun.
“I promise to keep my word, boy. I will even make you one of the Aurelions. You won’t have to worry about anything in your life,” Alexander said with a bright smile.
Elindros clenched his fist tightly. He hadn’t expected such a troublesome piece of trash to be present here.
“Boy, I have a medicine that can elevate your talent two levels higher and make it D rank. Think before you say anything,” Elindros said, playing his ultimate card.
He knew the type of poor bastards who would change their minds for just a glimpse of a treasure they had never seen before.
He started grinning again.
Alexander clenched his fists. He knew Elindros truly possessed such medicine, and if the boy changed his mind now, there would be nothing he could say.
Ethan looked at Elindros and cleared his throat.
“I am a righteous person, sir. I won’t tell lies once I decide to speak the truth. Please forgive me.”
Elindros almost lost control and wanted to slap the brat to death, but he restrained himself.
“Huh, Alexander, do you really think someone like this piece of trash has any value in the empire? Who would believe him?” Elindros said coldly.
But Alexander was looking at Ethan with deep gratitude in his eyes.
He had already decided that he would make this boy a core family member and support him in everything he needed.
He looked at Elindros and smiled mockingly. “We will see about that. You don’t have to worry.”
“But that SSS grade boy can’t go with you now until the matter is proven. I still have the right to fight for him,” Elindros said firmly.
“Let’s go to the capital together. He will stay in the Hunter Association until then. What do you say?”
Elindros snorted coldly but didn’t argue further.
“Boy, come with us,” Alexander said with a kind smile to Ethan.
“Samael, take your sister-in-law with you too. We will leave now,” he said, looking at Samael, who stood respectfully.
“Yes, Grandpa.”
