Chapter 278: A simple date
Ethan said, “I said you looked like someone very close to me. So when I saw how panicked you were back then, I couldn’t help but get worried about you.

So I started following you. When I saw you had nowhere to go and collapsed in the street, I wanted to bring you into a hotel, but you were sleepily talking about not getting caught by the palace.

So I didn’t take you to any hotel in the Moon Kingdom. Instead, I took you out of the kingdom and brought you here, to the Dungeon City.”

Rose’s eyes were wide open.

“How long have I been sleeping?” she asked.

“You were sleeping like a log for 15 hours,” Ethan gave her a look.

“Are you lying? How is this possible? I know Dungeon City is far, far away from the kingdom. How can you bring me here in such a short period of time?”

Ethan rolled his eyes. “I wonder how I did it.”

She wanted to ask many other questions, but she suddenly felt extreme hunger once her fear was gone. Ethan brought many delicious foods for her. The aroma almost made her drool.

She was constantly looking at the food, and drool finally came out from her mouth.

But she was hesitating to ask for food.

“Umm! Mister, you see, I… umm…”

Ethan gave her a light smile. “Do you want to eat before freshening up or after?”

“Is there a bath here?” she asked excitedly. She had never been in a hotel before.

“Of course there is. I bought some clothes and other materials for you too.”

He gave her a bag full of products he had bought on his way.

Ethan bought clothes according to the other Rose’s choice because he didn’t know her preference.

“You sure are thoughtful, mister. Thank you.”

“My name is Ethan. You can call me that.”

“Ummm… okay, Ethan. I’ll take a bath first.”

“Okay, I’ll leave the food here. Call me if you need anything else. I’m staying in the room beside you.”

Ethan left the room.

Rose watched him go.

“This man doesn’t give me a single ounce of threat. What is going on? Even my father had a threatening aura in him, but this man doesn’t.”

Rose had a secret. She could sense threat from others since the age of ten. Based on the intensity of the threat, she had avoided many calamities until now.

But she didn’t feel any of that sinister aura from Ethan. He was like a garden of beautiful flowers, full of fragrance to her. She felt very comfortable around that man.

If she knew the man she had seen in her dreams for five constant years was actually the man in front of her, she would surely jump into his embrace.

Rose went to take a bath. After taking the bath, she wore the clothes Ethan had bought for her.

The clothes were very beautiful.

“So his choice in female clothes is also not bad. I really want to know how he looks like.”

She sat on the bed and ate the food with great satisfaction. In fact, this was the most satisfying meal she ever had.

Those men who always showed great respect to her mother started to look at her like wolves looking at meat.

She fled from the palace at the risk of losing her life, but still, it was better than living in that hell.

She didn’t know when, but all the food was finished before she even realized it.

After the meal, Rose wiped her tears and washed her face again.

Then she came out of the room.

She wanted to call Ethan but was hesitating.

Just then, the door of the room opened, and Ethan came out.

“Have you finished your meal?”

Rose was caught off guard by the sudden opening of the door and almost fell down.

But Ethan caught her with a swift motion.

“Are you alright?” Ethan asked, worry in his voice.

He thought Rose was still feeling weak. But Rose’s face turned red instantly, and she stood quickly.

“I am alright, and I have eaten the food. Thank you. The meal was very delicious.”

Ethan smiled. “Good to hear that. Would you like to tour the city? It is quite famous and has many good places to visit.”

Rose’s eyes immediately lit up.

“Really?”

“Yes. Let’s go then.”

He started walking ahead. Rose followed him from behind.

Ethan took Rose to visit many good places throughout the day.

She was having the best day of her life. Her smile never disappeared from her face the whole time. Every little thing made her excited.

Ethan was also enjoying the tour. He took some pictures of Rose from different moments of the journey, where she looked so happy, like a little kid.

In the evening, they went to a fancy restaurant for dinner.

After ordering the food, Ethan looked at Rose.

“Rose, would you like to go to the Hunter Guild and undergo the awakening process? Who knows, maybe you have a talent?”

The day was like a dream to Rose. She had read books where people went to different places, and she always dreamed about that. Now she was living her dream.

Suddenly, she heard Ethan’s voice and came out of her blissful thoughts.

“Can I?” Rose asked, with excitement, surprise, hope, and anticipation in her voice.

“Of course you can. You can do anything you want. No one will be able to harm a single hair of yours. That’s my word,” Ethan calmly replied.

“Okay, it’s a promise then,” Rose smiled again.

Ethan could swear that he could spend eternity just by looking at that smile.

The food was served, and they had a hearty meal together.

While they were eating, Ethan suddenly felt another karmic connection coming toward the restaurant. It was Rose’s brother, whom he had seen before.

“I almost forgot her brother was present here. I don’t want to ruin her mood.”

Ethan looked at the prince from afar, and the prince instantly fell to the ground after losing consciousness.

His subordinates panicked. Why would the prince suddenly collapse?

“I think all those battles took a toll on His Highness’s body. He needed rest but overlooked that. We are the worst type of subordinates,” the leader of the guard suddenly said.

The guards got water for him in a hurry and carried him to a nearby hospital.
