Chapter 453: You Wish!
While Feng Xiyan was deep in thought, a servant arrived. Bowing to the three of them, he reported, “Young Master, a young lady requests an audience. Here is her visiting card.”

He then handed a small red booklet to Feng Xiyan.

Opening the visiting card, Feng Xiyan skimmed its contents before handing it to Bai Hanyun.

“Let her wait in the guest hall,” he ordered.

“Yes, Young Master.”

Lin Ruichuan cast a glance at Feng Xiyan after the servant left.

When Feng Xiyan received him previously, he was led to the main hall. But today, Feng Xiyan ordered Lin Weiwen to be led to the guest hall.

The meaning was unmistakable. Feng Xiyan had no intention of joining the third branch to act against him and his family.

‘Father was right. This younger cousin of mine is worth befriending.’

Standing up, Feng Xiyan reached out to Bai Hanyun. “Yun’er, let’s go meet Miss Lin.”

Intrigued after listening to their conversation, Bai Hanyun placed her hand into his warm palm. “Alright.”

As the two walked away hand in hand, Lin Ruichuan followed calmly behind them.

Meanwhile, the servant brought Lin Weiwen and her maidservant to the guest hall.

Gesturing politely, the servant said, “Young Lady, please wait here. The Young Master will arrive shortly.”

Lin Weiwen nodded and waited until the servant left before choosing the first seat below the main seat.

Scanning the spacious guest hall, she thought, ‘Every item displayed here is incredibly valuable. No wonder Father told me to get close to this distant cousin. If we can obtain the things left behind by my paternal aunt, we will gain an advantage over my Eldest Paternal Uncle.’

Standing beside her, the maidservant admired the valuables displayed around the room with bright eyes.

Lowering her voice, she said, “Third Young Lady, look at these things. If you can win over Great General Feng, the other young ladies will never dare look down on you again.”

At those words, Lin Weiwen’s mind went back to the day before she left for Xiqiang City.

That day, her paternal cousins had laughed at her. They said she was throwing herself at humiliation uninvited, and that her third branch was shamelessly trying to curry favor with the first branch.

Remembering the humiliation, Lin Weiwen clenched her handkerchief until her fingers turned white.

Outside, the servant stationed at the courtyard entrance saw Feng Xiyan approaching with Bai Hanyun and Lin Ruichuan. Bowing respectfully, he greeted them, “Young Master, Miss Bai, Young Master Lin.”

Feng Xiyan nodded in response and walked inside.

Hearing faint voices outside, Lin Weiwen quickly adjusted her expression, suppressing her emotions.

By the time Feng Xiyan and the others stepped into the guest hall, her expression had returned to calm.

However, when she turned and saw Feng Xiyan, she froze, instantly forgetting her mission. ‘Is this my distant cousin? He’s so handsome and gallant…’

Walking beside Feng Xiyan, Bai Hanyun noticed the admiration in Lin Weiwen’s gaze. She rolled her eyes inwardly and thought unhappily, ‘Too handsome is really such a trouble.’

Unaware that his good looks were considered a nuisance by Bai Hanyun, Feng Xiyan calmly took the main seat, then pulled her to sit beside him.

Only then did Lin Weiwen finally notice Bai Hanyun. Her brows furrowed as she scanned Bai Hanyun up and down, hostility flashing in her eyes.

Sensing the unfriendly gaze, Bai Hanyun nudged Feng Xiyan. “I don’t like her,” she said unhappily.

Feng Xiyan turned to her, then followed her line of sight toward Lin Weiwen.

Startled by Feng Xiyan’s sudden attention, Lin Weiwen reacted a beat too late to hide her hostility.

Feng Xiyan’s expression instantly sank when he saw that. Leaning closer to Bai Hanyun, he whispered softly, “Don’t be angry. I will teach her a lesson for you.”

Bai Hanyun glanced at his handsome face and replied in a lower voice, “I think being your fiancée draws too much hatred from other women. Find a chance to announce that we are just ordinary friends.”

Rubbing her chin, she added in her heart, ‘I still have a lot of important things to do. Getting dragged into his romantic entanglements is too troublesome and will hinder me. It’s better to resolve this matter before it causes me more trouble later.’

Feng Xiyan’s expression darkened at her words. Gritting his teeth, he thought with determination, ‘You wish! I will never let you go!’

Upset that Lin Weiwen’s arrival had made Bai Hanyun question their relationship again, Feng Xiyan looked at Lin Weiwen with an icy gaze.

“Miss Lin, what brings you here from Lin Nan Province?” he asked coldly.

Lin Weiwen trembled under his cold stare and didn’t react to Feng Xiyan’s question.

Seeing her master frozen in shock, the maidservant bent forward and whispered urgently, “Third Young Lady, Great General Feng is speaking to you.”

Hearing this, Lin Weiwen came back to her senses. She then forced a smile and stood up.

Slightly bending her knees, she offered a graceful salute. “Greetings, Elder Cousin. Thank you for sparing time to meet Wen Wen today.”

Lin Weiwen lifted her eyes shyly and continued, “My father heard that Elder Brother had arrived in Xiqiang City and worried that he might not be taking proper care of himself, so my father sent me to accompany my Elder Brother.”

After saying that, she glanced at her maidservant. At her signal, the maidservant stepped forward, holding an exquisite wooden box.

Gesturing to it, Lin Weiwen added, “This is a small token from my father. Please don’t disdain it, Elder Cousin.”

Expecting praise, she lifted her gaze, only to see Feng Xiyan watching her with cold indifference. Her brows tightened at this sight.

‘Why is he looking at me like that?’ She then glanced at Bai Hanyun and thought unhappily, ‘Did this woman say something to turn him against me?’

Receiving her hostile gaze, Bai Hanyun snorted and glared back at Lin Weiwen. ‘What are you looking at? Never seen someone as powerful as your grandaunt?’
