Chapter 439: Even More Wronged Than Dou E
Seeing that Feng Wu had suddenly disappeared, Bao Shengjie’s eyes widened in shock as he called out, “Brother Feng Wu!”
Leaving Hua Yuyu and the others behind, Feng Wu rushed toward the sounds of combat. As the sounds of combat grew louder, the bloody scent in the air thickened.
Not far ahead, Feng Xiyan had nearly wiped out all remaining enemies.
With only three masked men left, one of them realized that none of them would survive today. Seeing the other two nod in silent agreement, he retrieved something from the small leather pouch at his waist.
Seeing this, Feng Xiyan immediately sensed danger. Kicking off the ground, he withdrew several paces, creating distance between him and the masked men.
Gritting his teeth, the masked man shouted, “Feng Xiyan! Hand your life over!”
With that, he threw the object toward Feng Xiyan and Bai Hanyun.
Seeing the incoming black ball, Feng Xiyan channeled his internal energy to his black sword and slashed at the black ball.
The moment his sword energy collided with the black ball, it exploded.
Boom!
The moment the black ball exploded, the ground shook, shocking not only Feng Wu but also Hua Yuyu and the others waiting in the distance.
“What was that sound?” Bao Shengjie asked in shock.
Turning toward the direction where smoke rose into the sky, Hua Yuyu’s expression sank as he replied, “It’s the sound of an explosion. Since Miss Bai is not here, I’m afraid she may be in danger. We must find her as soon as possible.”
Taking out his gun, Hua Yuyu commanded, “Let’s go and check it out.”
“Yes, Captain.” The others replied in unison, then took out their weapons. With Hua Yuyu leading them, everyone hurried in the direction of the smoke.
Meanwhile, Feng Wu arrived at the scene and saw the three masked men staring at the thick smoke ahead.
“Who is there?!” one of the masked men asked vigilantly upon hearing the approaching footsteps.
He turned around and saw Feng Wu. The masked man’s eyes flickered when he saw Feng Wu’s black mask.
“It’s the Feng Clan’s shadow guard! Kill him!”
The second the masked man spoke, Feng Wu kicked the ground, leaped toward them as he drew his sword.
While Feng Wu engaged in battle with the three remaining masked men, Bai Hanyun coughed violently from the smoke.
“Cough! Cough! Cough!”
Seeing her red face from coughing, Feng Xiyan felt distressed and quickly moved her to a safe area to rest. Entering a small cave, Feng Xiyan placed Bai Hanyun on the ground and gently patted her back.
“Yun’er, are you alright?” he asked worriedly.
Bai Hanyun shook her head while trying to suppress her coughing.
Couldn’t bear to watch her suffer from the coughing, Feng Xiyan quickly took a water bag from his Qiankun Pouch. Opening the cork, he lifted it to Bai Hanyun’s lips and said, “Yun’er, drink some water to ease the coughing.”
Bai Hanyun looked at him gratefully, then took a few small sips. After drinking, her coughing stopped, and she let out a sigh of relief.
Raising her eyes to look at Feng Xiyan, Bai Hanyun asked in a hoarse voice, “Feng Xiyan, what happened just now? Who are those masked men?”
Feng Xiyan took a mouthful of water, put away the water bag, and replied, “Those are assassins sent by the Wen Clan.”
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun immediately examined Feng Xiyan and asked with worry in her voice, “Are you alright?”
Seeing how worried she was, Feng Xiyan felt warmth in his heart. Shaking his head, he gently patted her hand.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. These are just small injuries. Those assassins aren’t strong enough to kill me.”
Bai Hanyun glared at him and scolded, “What do you mean by small injuries? Don’t you know that an infection can kill you?”
Stunned for a few seconds because of her scolding, Feng Xiyan came back to his senses, then suddenly pulled Bai Hanyun into his arms.
Afraid of accidentally touching Feng Xiyan’s wounds if she struggled, Bai Hanyun didn’t dare to move and allowed him to hug her.
A few minutes later, she finally said, “Feng Xiyan, let me go. We need to treat your injuries as soon as possible.”
Although reluctant, Feng Xiyan was afraid she would get angry, so he released her.
Once freed, Bai Hanyun quickly took out a first aid kit from her Qiankun Pouch. Opening it, she calmly ordered, “Take off your clothes.”
The moment he heard this, Feng Xiyan’s ears turned red and his eyes lit up. Staring at Bai Hanyun shyly, his heartbeat quickened, and his palms grew sweaty.
Seeing that he wasn’t moving and merely staring at her, Bai Hanyun tilted her head slightly. “Why aren’t you taking off your clothes? Do you need me to help you?”
Glancing at the night sky outside, Feng Xiyan hesitated for a moment before determination flickered in his eyes. Slowly, he began removing his clothing, layer by layer.
Watching him undress like a bashful newlywed bride, Bai Hanyun was baffled. ‘What’s wrong with him? Why is he acting like this? Has he injured his head?’
Left with only his white inner garment, Feng Xiyan shyly peeked at Bai Hanyun, then took it off with trembling hands. When his upper body was finally bare before her, Feng Xiyan’s face was so red it seemed it might start bleeding.
Not daring to look at Bai Hanyun, Feng Xiyan shyly murmured, “Yun’er, I’m ready.”
Seeing his shy but eager expression, Bai Hanyun suddenly realized what Feng Xiyan was thinking. She felt exasperated and groaned inwardly.
‘Oh my God! What was he thinking?! Did he think I was going to do something shameful?! I’m just going to treat his injuries!’
Bai Hanyun felt even more wronged than Dou E, but could only hold it in. Steadying herself with a deep breath, she wet a cotton wipe with iodine and said, “If it hurts, tell me. I will be gentle.”
Seeing him nod obediently, Bai Hanyun carefully dabbed the cotton wipe on the long sword wound on his arm and began cleaning the dried blood.
While she was busy administering first aid to Feng Xiyan, Hua Yuyu and the others finally caught up with Feng Wu.
