Chapter 438: Intense Battle
Witnessing everything, Hua Yuyu and the others were shocked and stood there in silence.
Following Gui Ying’s advice, Bai Hanyun waited a moment before saying, “Looks like the space and time portal is stable.”
“Yes. All of you should go inside now. There is not much time left,” the Yang Mirror urged as he turned into golden light and returned to the red mark on Bai Hanyun’s wrist.
Turning to Feng Wu and the others, Bai Hanyun said, “I will go in first, and then you all can follow.”
Hearing this, they nodded in unison.
“Yes, Miss Bai.”
“Yes, Fairy Bai.”
After giving Feng Wu and the others one last look, Bai Hanyun took a deep breath and stepped bravely into the space and time portal.
Bai Hanyun felt dizzy the moment she stepped into the space and time portal. Before she could recover from the dizziness, she felt herself falling and heard the sound of metal colliding in the surroundings.
Clang! Clang! Whoosh!
Knowing that something was not right, Bai Hanyun anxiously called for the Yang Mirror, “Yang Mirror, where are you sending me this time?!”
While her body fell to the ground at high speed, Bai Hanyun’s dizziness finally disappeared, and she quickly opened her eyes.
“Watch out!”
Bai Hanyun opened her eyes just in time to be pulled into someone’s embrace. Just as she was about to struggle to free herself, Bai Hanyun smelled a familiar scent.
Looking up, Bai Hanyun saw a well-defined jawline and a familiar handsome face. “Feng Xiyan?”
Hearing her calling his name, Feng Xiyan glanced down at Bai Hanyun. However, before he could respond, he sensed a cold, murderous aura suddenly locked onto his back.
Circulating his internal energy, Feng Xiyan tightened his hold on Bai Hanyun’s waist, then twisted in midair, narrowly dodging the flying daggers.
Swish~! Swish~! Swish~!
Stab! Stab! Stab!
Seeing their weapons miss the target and stuck to the dead tree nearby, the pursuers behind Feng Xiyan drew more flying daggers, ready to shoot them toward Feng Xiyan again.
But before they could act, Feng Xiyan landed on a tall, dead tree. Kicking off a thick branch, he used the momentum to launch himself toward the attackers.
Seeing him approaching with terrifying speed, the pursuers’ eyes glinted coldly, and they threw their daggers.
Without changing his expression, Feng Xiyan calmly parried the daggers with his sword.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Deflected by his long sword, the flying daggers changed directions and pierced the ground and surrounding dead trees.
Stab! Stab! Stab!
Clenching his sword tighter, Feng Xiyan channeled his internal energy into his black sword. The moment the black sword glowed in blue light, he slashed horizontally.
Slash! Whoosh!
Sensing the sudden shift in the air, the leader of the masked men shouted, “Dodge!”
Immediately, the masked men dispersed, but some reacted too slowly and were struck by Feng Xiyan’s sword energy.
Slash! Slash! Slash!
“Ugh!”
“Akh!”
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Those hit by Feng Xiyan’s sword energy collapsed heavily on the ground and breathed their last.
When the leader saw that half of his men were down from a single strike from Feng Xiyan, he clenched his jaw, eyes flickering with murderous intent. Making a quick decision, he signaled the rest of his men with his left hand.
Receiving the silent order, the remaining masked men nodded simultaneously.
Noticing their exchange, Feng Xiyan’s eyes sharpened for an instant. Landing on a dead tree nearby, he lowered his voice and whispered, “Yun’er, close your eyes and hold on tight.”
Knowing he was about to launch a fierce attack, Bai Hanyun quickly shut her eyes and wrapped her arms around Feng Xiyan’s waist.
Feeling Bai Hanyun’s body press closer against him, the corner of Feng Xiyan’s lips curved up slightly.
Looking away from her, Feng Xiyan circulated her internal energy. As his murderous aura exploded outward like a storm, he kicked the branch and flew toward the masked men.
The leader’s expression sank the moment he felt the heavy pressure coming from Feng Xiyan.
“Not good! Retre—!”
Before he could finish the command, Feng Xiyan vanished from his sight and instantly appeared before him.
The leader’s eyes widened in terror as they met Feng Xiyan’s cold eyes.
Without giving him a chance to resist, Feng Xiyan flicked his wrist and beheaded the leader in one swift movement.
Slash! Sprut!
In the next second, the leader saw his own body fall to the ground as blood spurted from his severed neck. Two seconds later, the leader’s eyes lost their light, and he died with his eyes wide open.
Thud! Thud!
By the time the leader’s body hit the ground, Feng Xiyan had disappeared again.
Seeing their leader had died under Feng Xiyan’s sword, the remaining masked men knew their fate was sealed.
“Attack!!” one of them roared, and the others lunged forward.
Just when his words fell, Feng Xiyan appeared behind the masked man and slashed his neck.
“Ugh!” The masked man let out a groan as he covered the wide wounds on his neck. As the masked man’s blood stained the ground red, he saw Feng Xiyan kill two more people.
While Feng Xiyan battled the masked men, still holding Bai Hanyun securely in one arm, Feng Wu and the others suddenly appeared in the middle of the dead forest.
Opening his eyes, Feng Wu smelled a familiar scent in the air. Before he could find the source of the smell, he heard a series of faint sounds.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Hearing faint metal clashes echoing in the distance, Feng Wu scanned the area vigilantly. Didn’t see Bai Hanyun, his expression changed.
As Hua Yuyu and the rest opened their eyes, the strong iron scent hit them instantly.
Bao Shengjie noticed Feng Wu’s vigilant stance and asked, “Brother Feng Wu, what’s wrong? Where are we?”
Just when he asked this, Feng Wu suddenly looked to the left. Without answering Bao Shengjie, Feng Wu circulated his internal energy and used his lightness skill. Kicking the ground, he disappeared from there.
