Chapter 432: His Name Is…
Gui Ying hesitated for a moment and then replied to Bai Hanyun’s question, “For the heir of my Gui Clan to become the new patriarch, they must gather the scattered power of their lineage. My grandfather and my granduncle are twin brothers.”

“Because my grandfather was chosen as the patriarch of the Gui Clan, he was required to gather the scattered power from his direct bloodline. However, my grandfather didn’t want to do that, so he begged the Yang Mirror to send my granduncle to another world instead.”

Bai Hanyun had a bad feeling after hearing this and asked cautiously, “How can your grandfather gather the scattered power?”

At the mention of this, Gui Ying’s expression darkened, and he fell silent.

Seeing his grim expression, Bai Hanyun had a guess and asked, “Is it by killing the others?”

As soon as her words fell, Gui Ying suddenly lifted his gaze to look at her. “How do you know about this?” he asked dangerously.

Met with his cold, murderous eyes, Bai Hanyun felt chills run down her spine.

Because of Gui Ying’s lazy and easygoing behavior during their interactions, Bai Hanyun had forgotten that he was someone who could make even Feng Xiyan hesitate to fight him.

Now, seeing those cold eyes devoid of emotion, Bai Hanyun realized she had made a mistake by forgetting Gui Ying’s true strength.

Before she could react, Feng Wu pulled her up from the couch and shielded her behind him.

Sensing the oppressive, murderous intent emanating from Gui Ying, Hua Yuyu and the others instinctively drew their guns, ready for battle.

Facing Gui Ying, Feng Wu blocked Bai Hanyun from Gui Ying’s sight with his body and calmly asked, “Young Master Gui, what do you think you are doing right now?”

Being questioned, Gui Ying glanced at their ready stances and sneered. “Do you think you can stop this young master if this young master wants to do something to Fairy Bai? Feng Wu, you are overestimating yourself.”

“This subordinate knows that this subordinate is not your opponent. However, my Master has ordered this subordinate to protect Fairy Bai at all costs. Young Master Gui, this subordinate will fight you if you dare lay a hand on her—even at the cost of this subordinate’s life.” Feng Wu responded calmly.

Upon hearing Feng Wu’s unyielding words, Gui Ying suddenly laughed, and his murderous intent vanished instantly.

Taking out his folding fan, Gui Ying slowly fanned himself and said, “This young master is not foolish enough to attack Fairy Bai. No matter what, she is now the master of the Yang Mirror. Even if this young master wants to kill her, this young master also needs to see if the Yang Mirror agrees or not.”

Glancing at Feng Wu, Hua Yuyu, and the others, he rolled his eyes and added, “You can all rest assured. This young master won’t do anything to Fairy Bai.”

Seeing that Gui Ying truly had no intention of harming Bai Hanyun, Feng Wu released his grip on his sword hilt, while Hua Yuyu and the others lowered their guns.

Although everyone had put away their weapons, the atmosphere in the living room still felt tense.

Bai Hanyun looked from one side to the other, then chose a seat farther away from Gui Ying.

Wanting to break the silence and tension, she said, “Gui Ying, I have read a lot of novels before, and this kind of killing to absorb someone’s power isn’t an uncommon trope in the fantasy genre. It’s easy to guess.”

Listening to her words, Gui Ying raised an eyebrow, looking intrigued. “It seems this world has something more interesting than delicious food and addictive games.”

Bai Hanyun chuckled. “Of course. There are a lot of things you don’t know about this world.”

Now that the atmosphere had returned to normal, Bai Hanyun asked, “So, the reason your grandfather sent your granduncle here was that he didn’t want to kill his twin brother?”

Gui Ying nodded. “That’s right.”

Rubbing her chin, Bai Hanyun pondered for a moment, then said, “That means… the one who needs help is your cousin?”

Gui Ying shook his head and replied, “He is not this young master’s cousin. That brat should call this young master ‘Ancestor’ when he sees me.”

Noticing Bai Hanyun’s confusion, Gui Ying had a rare moment of patience and explained, “The first time this young master’s granduncle arrived in this world should be around ten or twenty thousand years ago.”

“This young master didn’t know why, but after so many years, only one descendant remains from his bloodline.”

Pausing for a second, he frowned slightly and added, “As for the reason why there is a time difference between the two worlds, this young master doesn’t know. Perhaps only the Yang Mirror can answer that.”

Bai Hanyun listened with interest flickering in her eyes, and recalled her previous conversations with the Yang Mirror.

Rubbing her chin, she thought, ‘I remember the Yang Mirror saying he didn’t know why there was a time difference between the two worlds when he first arrived here. It seems the space and time portal really is the cause.’

Thinking about how she would use the space-time portal regularly in the future, Bai Hanyun grew worried.

‘This is not good. If the space and time portal really has a problem, then it will be dangerous for me to travel between worlds.’

Sighing inwardly, she thought sadly, ‘Looks like I need to discuss this matter with the Yang Mirror later.’

With that in mind, Bai Hanyun looked at Gui Ying and curiously asked, “Gui Ying, who is your granduncle’s descendant?”

“As far as I know, your surname is one of the few ancient surnames originating from ancient dynasties. No one else in this world carries the same surname as you anymore.”

Seeing her curiosity, Gui Ying generously answered, “His name is Gui Xiaoxu. I don’t know what his job is, but he seems quite rich.”

Except for Feng Wu, when Bai Hanyun and the others heard the name Gui Xiaoxu, they were stunned.
