Chapter 422: Li Qin’s Haste
Bai Hanyun smiled back at Fu Jiarong and said, “Miss Fu, will Master Li be coming today? I have something to discuss with him.”
Hearing this, Fu Jiarong replied, “Miss Bai, Master Li is not coming today. But if you have an important matter to discuss with him, I can inform him for you and ask if he can come today.”
Thinking about her plan to open an antique store, Bai Hanyun smiled and gratefully said, “Then I will trouble you to contact Master Li.”
“It’s just a small matter,” Fu Jiarong said cheerfully, then looked at her elder brother sitting by the windows and added, “Elder Brother, can you bring Miss Bai and her companions to the private waiting room upstairs?”
Hearing his younger sister’s words, Fu Rongchen closed his book, placed it on the coffee table, then stood up and walked toward Bai Hanyun.
Gesturing for her to follow, he walked upstairs without saying a word.
Already knowing that Fu Rongchen didn’t like to speak, Bai Hanyun turned to Fu Jiarong and said, “Miss Fu, I’m going up first.”
“Alright,” Fu Jiarong responded, waving at her, then stared at Hua Yuyu and the others with admiration in her clear eyes.
When Feng Wu walked past her, Fu Jiarong couldn’t hold back and said what was on her mind, “Ah, so handsome.”
The second the words left her mouth, Fu Jiarong hurriedly covered her mouth in panic. Seeing that Feng Wu only glanced at her for a second and then left without looking back, she let out a sigh of relief.
Looking at her sweaty palm, Fu Jiarong swallowed and muttered fearfully, “Oh my God. I thought he was going to kill me just now. So scary.”
Patting her chest to calm herself, she shuddered as she dialed Li Qin’s number.
A few seconds later, Li Qin’s voice came through the speaker. “Jiarong, today is my rest day. I won’t do any work.”
Hearing this, Fu Jiarong’s fear of Feng Wu was forgotten. She smirked and asked, “Master Li, are you sure you are not coming today?”
Li Qin harrumphed and replied, “Of course. It’s rare for me to have free time. I’m not going.”
Hearing this, Fu Jiarong sighed in disappointment. “Well then, since you insist, I can only inform Miss Bai that you won’t be coming today and let her find someone else.”
When Li Qin heard Bai Hanyun’s name, he quickly said, “Wait! Did you just say Miss Bai is coming to the store?”
“She is already here and waiting in the private room. If you are not coming, then I will tell her to find someone else. I can’t just let her wait for you here and waste her time, right?” Fu Jiarong said carelessly.
The second she said this, Li Qin sprang up from his rocking chair and hurriedly said, “Don’t! I’m going immediately! Make sure you serve Miss Bai properly. Wait for me!”
Without waiting for Fu Jiarong’s response, Li Qin hung up the call and yelled toward the stairs for his grandson, “Xiao Hu, quick! Drive me to the Gu Bao Antique Store now!”
Li Qin’s loud voice startled his grandson, who was playing games in his room, so much that Xiao Hu almost fell off his gaming chair.
Thinking that his paternal grandfather had an urgent matter at Gu Bao Antique Store, Li Hu hurriedly said to his teammates, “Brothers, I have an emergency. Let’s continue after I’m back.”
The moment he said this, his teammates shouted at the same time, “Don’t go! We are about to win!”
Unfortunately, Li Hu had already left the game before they could finish their words. Seeing his character turn into a brainless NPC, his four teammates cursed at once.
Taking off his gaming headphones, Li Hu grabbed his car keys and hurried downstairs.
Seeing his paternal grandfather anxiously pacing back and forth in the living room, Li Hu rushed toward him and asked worriedly, “Paternal Grandfather, what happened?”
Hearing his grandson’s question, Li Qin grabbed Li Hu’s arm and pulled him outside. “Quick! Let’s go to the Gu Bao Antique Store!”
After confirming that his grandfather wasn’t injured or ill, Li Hu—who had been pushed out of the house—asked in confusion, “Paternal Grandfather, why are you in such a hurry to go to the Gu Bao Antique Store? Isn’t today your off day?”
When Li Hu unlocked the car, Li Qin quickly got into the passenger seat and said, “Hurry up. Miss Bai is waiting there. I can’t keep her waiting too long. Otherwise, we will lose a lot of money!”
Remembering that his grandfather had once given him fifty thousand yuan as pocket money when this famous Miss Bai visited the store, Li Hu’s eyes lit up.
Fastening his seatbelt, he glanced at Li Qin and saw that he had already buckled up. “Leave it to me, Paternal Grandfather. I will make sure you arrive there in less than twenty minutes!”
The moment his words fell, Li Hu stepped on the accelerator, and his blue sports car shot out of the Li family’s villa like a bullet.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Li Qin closed his eyes and muttered, “As long as I don’t see it, I won’t be afraid.”
Overhearing his paternal grandfather’s words, Li Hu was speechless.
“…” You are the one who told me to hurry up, but it’s also you who was afraid.
While Li Hu sped toward the Gu Bao Antique Store, Fu Rongchen gestured for Bai Hanyun and the others to take a seat, then left the private room.
After the door closed, Bai Hanyun and Feng Wu sat on the couch, while Hua Yuyu, Wang Kaimu, and Wang Kaiye scanned the room for the surveillance cameras.
Seeing that only four cameras were installed in the corners of the ceiling, the three of them began checking for any recording devices in the room.
Five minutes later, they finished their search and found nothing. Nodding at each other, the three finally sat down on the couch and waited in silence.
Just as Bai Hanyun was about to take out her phone to play a game, the door opened again.
