Looking at his dazed expression, Bai Hanyun laughed. “So, Feng Wu, do you think we should treat these items as treasures or not?”

Feng Wu nodded vigorously like a chicken pecking on rice and replied, “Yes. These things are treasures.”

While they were chatting happily, Hua Yuyu and the others brought the wooden boxes into the living room.

The moment Hua Yuyu saw the antiques again, he was left speechless.

Noticing them coming, Bai Hanyun quickly got up, moved the antiques aside to make space, and said, “Brother Hua, place the boxes here.”

Coming back to his senses, Hua Yuyu replied numbly, “Oh, got it.”

With that, he and the others continued moving the wooden boxes inside while Bai Hanyun and Feng Wu packed the antiques she planned to transport.

While they were working, Lei Jingqian and his subordinates had just arrived at the Gui Group’s headquarters in Shang Du City.

Before stepping into the office building’s main entrance, Lei Jingqian turned to his three subordinates and said, “I’m going alone. You guys wait here.”

When he said this, one of his subordinates protested, “Captain, you can’t go alone. The identity of this CEO Gui is still unclear. If he really has something to do with the Xue Wu Gang, then wouldn’t you be sending yourself straight into the lion’s mouth? It’s too dangerous.”

Hearing this, Lei Jingqian patted his shoulder and responded, “If Gui Xiaoxu really has something to do with the Xue Wu Gang, going alone can lower his guard and vigilance instead. So you guys stay outside and wait for my signal.”

Knowing that no one could change Lei Jingqian’s mind once he made his decision, the special force soldier could only nod and wait outside.

Seeing that the others didn’t say anything, Lei Jingqian walked into the office building alone. Noticing that there were few people around, he walked directly to the receptionist’s counter.

Looking up from her laptop screen, the receptionist smiled and politely asked, “Greetings, Sir. Do you need any help?”

“I have an appointment with CEO Gui. Can I meet him now?” Lei Jingqian asked.

The receptionist nodded at his words and asked, “May I have your name, Sir?”

“Lei Jingqian.”

After getting his name, the receptionist said, “Please wait for a moment while I check your appointment time.”

While she checked the appointment schedule on her laptop, Lei Jingqian scanned the lobby. Aside from workers occasionally coming and going, he found nothing suspicious.

A few moments later, the receptionist said, “Sir, your appointment with CEO Gui is in thirty minutes. Would you like to wait here or in the waiting area? There are drinks and snacks there for you to enjoy while waiting.”

Since Lei Jingqian had already checked the lobby, he replied, “I will wait in the waiting area.”

“Then I will lead you there,” the receptionist said, standing up and gesturing for him to follow. “Sir, please come this way.”

On the way to the waiting area, Lei Jingqian scanned his surroundings, noting every small detail.

After walking for a few minutes, they arrived at a spacious open space that looked more like a luxurious café than an office waiting area.

Smiling at him, the receptionist said, “Sir, feel free to take any food and drinks from the counter. When it’s time for your appointment with CEO Gui, someone will come to escort you upstairs. In the meantime, please enjoy your stay here.”

Lei Jingqian nodded. “Thank you.”

After she left, he walked to the drink counter and poured himself a cup of coffee. Finding an empty seat in a corner by the floor-to-ceiling windows, Lei Jingqian sat down and waited patiently while observing the people around him.

Meanwhile, on the top floor of the building, the landline phone on Ke Ting’s desk rang.

Picking up the phone, Ke Ting continued with his work as he calmly answered, “Ke Ting here.”

A second later, the receptionist’s voice came through. “Assistant Ke, a man named Lei Jingqian has arrived. He has an appointment with CEO Gui in twenty minutes.”

When Ke Ting heard the name, he paused briefly before responding, “Got it.”

Ending the call, he went straight to the CEO’s office. After knocking on the door, Ke Ting waited until he heard Gui Xiaoxu’s cold voice from inside.

“Come in.”

Opening the door, Ke Ting entered the spacious office and reported, “Boss, Lei Jingqian has arrived. Your appointment with him is in twenty minutes. Where would you like to meet him?”

Gui Xiaoxu stopped working and stood up. Putting on his suit jacket, he instructed, “Bring him to the rooftop garden.”

Ke Ting’s eyes flickered slightly at his words and nodded. “Yes, Boss.”

While Ke Ting went to fetch Lei Jingqian, Gui Xiaoxu left his office and took his private elevator.

After pressing the button for the rooftop floor, he waited until the elevator reached it before taking out his phone as he stepped out.

As he walked down the carpeted corridor heading to the rooftop garden, Gui Xiaoxu dialed a number and spoke when the call connected. “Yong Yan, how are your conditions today?”

Sitting on the bed, Yong Yan answered, “The doctor said I only need to rest a few more days for a complete recovery.”

Pausing for a second, Yong Yan then asked, “Boss, do you have a new mission for me?”

“Mhm,” Gui Xiaoxu hummed and replied, “I want you to investigate the military Special Force. Help me find out the progress of an investigation mission from the Special Force Investigation Division, led by Lei Jingqian.”

After listening to Gui Xiaoxu’s instruction, Yong Yan responded, “Got it. I will investigate him right away.”

“Send me the results as soon as possible.”

“Understood.”

After ending the call, Gui Xiaoxu put away his phone and sat down on one of the chairs in the rooftop garden. He didn’t wait long before he saw Ke Ting walk into the rooftop garden with Lei Jingqian.

Sensing someone observing him, Lei Jingqian looked up, and his eyes met Gui Xiaoxu’s through the air.

The moment their gazes locked, both men knew the other was not someone to be trifled with.
