Chapter 403: Uninvited Guest
Accepting the orders, the generals clasped their fists and said in unison, “This subordinate accepts the order!”

After dividing the tasks, Feng Xiyan said, “There is much to be done, so let’s end the meeting here.”

“Yes, Great General.”

Just as Tan Pengtai took a step, Feng Xiyan stopped him and said, “General Tan, please arrange for the supplies to be delivered to Xiquan City as soon as possible. This general only left a week of supplies for General Mo Yuan.”

Knowing that there were almost 100,000 people in Xiquan City, Tan Pengtai clasped his fists and replied, “Yes, Great General. This subordinate will arrange it immediately.”

“Good. You may go.”

After the generals left the tent, Feng Xiyan let out a tired sigh and rubbed his brow. A moment later, he sensed a familiar aura appear behind him.

A second later, Feng Yi’s voice came. “Master, we just received news from Feng Si.”

Hearing this, Feng Xiyan turned around and asked, “How is he?”

Feng Yi hesitated for a second before answering, “Feng Si was critically injured. Fortunately, Feng San found him and managed to bring him back to the headquarters on time. He is still unconscious right now, but he has passed the critical period.”

The moment Feng Xiyan heard the report, his expression darkened, and his eyes turned cold.

As a murderous aura spread from his body, Feng Xiyan asked, “Have you found out who injured Feng Si?”

Feng Yi bowed his head and replied, “This subordinate is useless. We haven’t found out who injured Feng Si.”

Noticing Feng Xiyan’s clenched fists, Feng Yi felt a chill crawl down his spine.

After a long silence, Feng Xiyan asked, “What about Feng San and his team?”

Seeing that Feng Xiyan’s anger had slightly subsided, Feng Yi secretly let out a sigh of relief. “Answering the Master, Feng San and his team only suffered surface injuries. They should recover in two days.”

“And Feng Si’s team?” Feng Xiyan asked further.

When Feng Yi heard this, his eyes flickered with murderous intent for a moment before they returned to calmness. “Their situation is unknown.”

“When Feng San found Feng Si, he was alone and on the brink of death. Before escaping, Feng San ordered two of his team members to stay behind and search for Feng Si’s teammates.”

“Feng Er has already dispatched Feng Jiu and his team to support Feng San’s men in the search for the missing brothers from Feng Si’s team. Besides that, Feng Er also ordered Feng Jiu to investigate the person who injured Feng Si and his team.”

After listening to Feng Yi’s report, Feng Xiyan said, “Feng Er’s arrangement is well done. Relay my order to him. Tell him to contact Feng Shi and order him to return from You Sheng Valley immediately to treat Feng Si’s injuries.”

Clasping his fists, Feng Yi responded, “Yes, Master.”

The second his words fell, Feng Yi disappeared from Feng Xiyan’s sight.

Left alone in the tent, Feng Xiyan’s murderous aura and internal energy suddenly burst forth. The violent energy instantly shattered the wooden furniture and tore through the tent.

Boom!

Hearing the loud explosion, the soldiers rushed toward Feng Xiyan’s tent, only to find him standing amidst the ruins and broken furniture.

Shocked expressions appeared on their faces as one of them stepped forward and asked worriedly, “Great General, are you alright? What happened here? Were there assassins?”

Hearing this, Feng Xiyan quickly controlled his emotions. When his murderous aura faded, he raised his eyes calmly and said, “The tent was too old and collapsed.”

The soldiers exchanged confused looks and saw the same question on each other’s faces.

‘Fairy Bai had sent the tent, and it was new. How could it collapse because it was old?’

Although they doubted Feng Xiyan’s words, none of them dared to point it out.

Seeing that they were staring at him, Feng Xiyan walked out from the ruins and said, “Clean it up. If the generals ask, tell them that this general will return to my mansion tonight. If something urgent happens, they can find this general there.”

“Yes, Great General!”

After Feng Xiyan left, the soldiers began cleaning up the tent and the broken furniture, while wondering what had happened to their Great General.

When the soldiers guarding the Great General’s mansion saw Feng Xiyan approaching on horseback, they quickly stepped forward and saluted him.

“Great General!”

Feng Xiyan nodded to them, then handed his war horse’s reins to one of the soldiers. Just as he stepped past the main entrance, he saw Huang Wenping hurrying over.

“Young Master, you finally came back,” Huang Wenping said while bowing.

Seeing Huang Wenping’s anxious expression, Feng Xiyan frowned slightly and asked, “Uncle Huang, why do you look so anxious? Did something happen at home?”

Huang Wenping hesitated for a moment before replying, “Young Master, do you remember the Lin Clan from Lin Nan Province?”

When Feng Xiyan heard this question, his frown deepened. After a moment of silence, he asked, “Didn’t they sever ties with me when the previous emperor killed my entire Feng Clan? Why are you mentioning them now?”

Knowing how bad Feng Xiyan’s relationship with the Lin Clan was, Huang Wenping hesitated for a few seconds before stepping closer and whispering, “Young Master, the heir of the Lin Clan is here. He just arrived this morning.”

Feng Xiyan was stunned for a moment and then asked unhappily, “What? Lin Ruichuan is here? What does he want now?”

Seeing Feng Xiyan’s rising anger, Huang Wenping tried to persuade him.

“Young Master, this servant knows you resent the Lin Clan for abandoning Madam and refusing to help the Feng Clan back then. But no matter what, the Lin Clan is Madam’s family.”

“Since they sent their heir here, why not meet him first and see what he wants? If his intentions are bad, at least you can take precautions early.”

Feng Xiyan pondered Huang Wenping’s suggestion for a moment before saying, “Since Uncle Huang said so, I will meet him. I want to see what they want from me after all these years of silence.”
