Chapter 381: Arrest
Smiling faintly, Jiang Yinqi said, “Everyone, my client has just filed a lawsuit against some of you for attempted murder.”

The second he said this, Bai Yansheng shouted, “Nonsense! How could she sue us?! She is dead!”

As his words echoed through the spacious meeting room, the room fell into silence. Some were shocked, others confused; a few grabbed their hair in disbelief, muttering incoherently.

“It’s over… It’s over…”

Just as Bai Yansheng realized his slip of tongue, Jiang Yinqi coldly asked, “Director Bai, I never said who my client is. How do you know my client is dead? Also, I didn’t say who my client is suing, so… why are you so anxious?”

The moment his words fell, the room was enveloped in eerie silence. Every gaze turned toward Bai Yansheng’s pale and sweaty face.

Knowing that he had said the wrong thing, Bai Yansheng’s pale face turned even paler. Cold sweat dripped onto the table as his mind raced to find an excuse.

Unfortunately, before he could come up with one, Jiang Yinqi’s cold voice rang out. “Since Director Bai can’t answer, let me help you with that.”

Walking toward the large screen at the side, Jiang Yinqi signaled to his assistant with a nod.

Receiving the signal, the assistant quickly connected his laptop to the screen and typed something. A few seconds later, the images of the assassins were replaced by a list of bank transfers.

Standing beside the large screen, Jiang Yinqi faced the shareholders and said, “This is the transfer record from Director Bai’s account. Over the past few weeks, there have been several large transactions.”

“The most suspicious ones are the transfers of hundreds of millions of yuan to an encrypted account. Not only is the recipient untraceable, but the source of the money is also questionable.”

Before Jiang Yinqi could continue, Bai Yansheng suddenly shouted, “You’re breaking the law! You can’t investigate my personal bank account without permission!”

Hearing this, Jiang Yinqi smiled faintly and replied, “Director Bai, you are right. I don’t have permission to investigate your personal bank account. However, there is someone who can and already does it.”

Bai Yansheng’s words stuck in his throat when he heard this.

“What—!”

Before he could say anything, Jiang Yinqi turned toward the closed door and said, “Captain Lei, you can come in.”

Outside the meeting room, Lei Jingqian heard the call and pushed the door open. Taking out an arrest warrant, he showed it to everyone as he stepped into the spacious room.

“My name is Lei Jingqian, Captain of the Investigation Division of the Military Special Forces.”

His gaze swept across the room and stopped on Bai Yansheng’s ashen face. “Bai Yansheng, please come with us for further investigation.”

As he spoke, the sound of heavy footsteps approached from the outside, and the door opened again.

“Apologies for interrupting the meeting, but we are here to arrest Bai Yansheng and his associates regarding the corporate spies’ case.”

Just when he said this, Lu Renyi’s eyes landed on the tall man standing not far away. A second later, their gazes met in surprise.

“Captain Lu, why are you here?” Lei Jingqian asked in confusion.

“Captain Lei, what are you doing here?” Lu Renyi asked, frowning slightly.

Glancing down, Lu Renyi noticed the arrest warrant in Lei Jingqian’s hand and immediately understood.

Raising his own arrest warrant, Lu Renyi turned to look at Bai Yansheng and calmly said, “This is an arrest warrant. Bai Yansheng, please come with us.”

Before anyone could react, Lu Renyi’s team swiftly stepped forward and handcuffed Bai Yansheng and the others.

Struggling to free himself, Bai Yansheng shouted furiously, “Let me go! I’m innocent!”

Rolling his eyes, Lu Renyi calmly ordered, “Take them away.”

While the officers dragged Bai Yansheng and his people out of the room, Lu Renyi turned to Lei Jingqian and whispered, “Captain Lei, let’s talk later.”

Lei Jingqian nodded. “Mhm.”

Seeing that their task was done, Lei Jingqian looked at the remaining people and said, “Please excuse us.”

With that, he and Lu Renyi left the meeting room with their teams, leaving behind a group of stunned shareholders.

Click.

As the door closed, shocked exclamations suddenly erupted throughout the room.

“What just happened?! Did they just arrest Director Bai?!”

“No! We need to suppress this news quickly! Otherwise, the stock will plummet and we will all be finished!”

“CEO Hu, do something!”

“Attorney Jiang, look at what you have caused! You have to clean this up!”

While the shareholders panicked, Hu Chaoyang and Jiang Yinqi remained calm.

When the chaos finally subsided, Hu Chaoyang said coldly, “Silence.”

At once, everyone stopped talking, and silence fell over the room.

After making sure he had their attention, Hu Chaoyang said, “Everyone, please calm down.”

One shareholder, noticing his composure, asked, “CEO Hu, you knew about this in advance, didn’t you?”

Hu Chaoyang glanced at him but didn’t answer.

Receiving no reply, the shareholder continued, “Not right. You didn’t just know. You were the one who called the police and exposed Director Bai’s crimes.”

Hu Chaoyang looked at him and asked, “Since you already know, why bother asking?”

Hearing that, several shareholders felt a chill crawl up their spines.

None of them was entirely clean. Every one of them had done things that skirted the edge of legality for years. Anxiety spread as they wondered whether Hu Chaoyang or Jiang Yinqi had uncovered their secrets, too.

In just a few words, Hu Chaoyang managed to control the situation and put heavy pressure on the shareholders.

Seeing that the desired effect had been achieved, Hu Chaoyang suddenly stood up and announced, “Everyone, I have one more important thing to announce today.”

When they heard this, the shareholders held their breath, hearts pounding.

Ignoring the chilling tension in the air, Hu Chaoyang walked to the door, opened it, and said, “Please, come in.”

Earlier, Ruan Hanlin had already gone to fetch Bai Hanyun and the others.

When Hu Chaoyang opened the door, Bai Hanyun nodded slightly. Raising her chin, Bai Hanyun stepped forward and walked into the meeting room.

The second the shareholders saw her face, they all gasped in shock and fear.
