“CEO Hu, you are my brother’s friend, so please, just call me by name,” Bai Hanyun said as she sat across from Hu Chaoyang.

Knowing her relationship with Jiang Yinqi, Hu Chaoyang nodded. “Alright.”

After everyone sat down, Hu Chaoyang handed a file to Bai Hanyun, Jiang Yinqi, and Hua Yuyu.

While they read through it, he explained, “I heard from Yinqi that this brother is your bodyguard, so I included him and his team in our security plan.”

Gesturing to the documents in their hands, he continued, “That’s the simulated plan I made based on Bai Yansheng’s possible reactions. I will handle the shareholders’ meeting myself. Cha—Hanyun, you will appear at the last moment.”

After finishing the document, Bai Hanyun looked up and said, “Understood.”

Looking at the others, Hu Chaoyang asked, “Any questions?”

Hua Yuyu raised his hand, and Hu Chaoyang motioned for him to speak.

“Have you contacted the police?” Hua Yuyu asked.

Hu Chaoyang nodded. “One of my assistant’s friends works in the police department. We have already contacted him, and he agreed to come with his team to provide support. If anything happens during the shareholders’ meeting, they will take action.”

Hua Yuyu thought for a moment, then nodded. “Got it.”

Seeing that no one else had questions, Hu Chaoyang said, “Give me ten minutes. I will meet you all downstairs, and we can leave for the Bai Group.”

Without waiting for their responses, he stood up and left the study.

After the door closed behind Hu Chaoyang, Jiang Yinqi also stood up and said, “Let’s head downstairs.”

With him leading the way, the group went downstairs and waited inside their cars.

Before long, Hu Chaoyang came out of the mansion looking neat and refreshed.

“Let’s go,” Hu Chaoyang said, then got into the car after the driver opened the back door.

With the black luxurious sedan leading the way, the sports car and two black SUVs left the Hu mansion.

More than an hour later, Jiang Yinqi drove his sports car directly into the underground parking lot, followed by the two black SUVs. Meanwhile, Hu Chaoyang’s sedan stopped at the main entrance of the Bai Group’s headquarters building.

Before getting out of Jiang Yinqi’s sports car, Bai Hanyun put on a mask and sunglasses.

Seeing that she was ready, Jiang Yinqi said, “We can’t let people know about you for now, so you will wait in the room Zuquan had prepared yesterday.”

“Understood.”

Before she could open the door, Jiang Yinqi stopped her and added, “Hanyun, I need to meet with my team, so I can’t accompany you in. Don’t worry, Zuquan will send someone to bring you to the waiting room.”

Knowing that Hu Chaoyang would need his help, Bai Hanyun nodded. “Elder Brother Yinqi, don’t worry about me. Just focus on what you need to do.”

After giving her one last reminder, Jiang Yinqi let her out, then drove out of the underground parking lot to meet with his assistant and subordinates.

Seeing that nobody was around, Hua Yuyu said, “Miss Bai, we should go now.”

Bai Hanyun nodded. “Mhm, let’s go.”

To avoid being seen, Bai Hanyun and the others chose to use the emergency stairs instead of the elevator.

Before they opened the door to the stairwell, Bai Hanyun paused and said, “Oh no, I forgot there are surveillance cameras in the emergency stairs.”

Hearing this, Bao Shengjie grinned and tapped his tablet with his index finger. “Miss Bai, don’t worry. With me here, nobody will see even our shadows.”

Bai Hanyun remembered that Bao Shengjie had once told her, back when they were gaming, that his job on the team was actually a hacker.

Trusting his skills, Bai Hanyun didn’t say anything and followed Hua Yuyu and the others into the emergency stairs. After climbing two flights, Hua Yuyu signaled them to stop.

He turned to Bao Shengjie and instructed, “Shengjie, check the situation outside.”

“Yes, Brother Hua.”

Before Bao Shengjie could do anything, the door suddenly opened.

Out of instinct, Hua Yuyu and the others pulled Bai Hanyun and Bao Shengjie to the back and reached for their weapons, ready for a fight.

In the tense silence, a head appeared from the crack. When the man saw a group of tall men glaring at him menacingly, he swallowed hard.

Raising his hands, Ruan Hanlin smiled nervously and said, “Bro—brothers, if you want to talk, we can talk peacefully. No need for violence.”

As he scanned the group, his eyes landed on Bai Hanyun, and his fear vanished instantly.

Lowering his hands, Ruan Hanlin walked up to Bai Hanyun and grabbed her hands. With red eyes, he said hoarsely, “Eldest Young Lady, I knew you’d be fine and come back alive.”

Looking at the man holding her hands, Bai Hanyun smiled and replied, “Assistant Ruan, long time no see. I hope you have been well since the last time we met.”

Ruan Hanlin wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes and said, “I’m fine, Eldest Young Lady. Thank you for your concern.”

Realizing the others were watching, Ruan Hanlin took a deep breath to compose himself. Smiling, he said, “Everyone, CEO Hu asked me to bring you to the waiting room. Please come with me.”

After saying that, Ruan Hanlin opened the door and turned to Bai Hanyun. “Eldest Young Lady, please.”

Bai Hanyun nodded, then walked in front while the others followed behind.

Walking one step behind her, Ruan Hanlin quickly briefed Bai Hanyun on today’s plan. By the time they reached the waiting room, five minutes had passed.

“Eldest Young Lady, please wait here. I’m currently working as Bai Yansheng’s assistant, so I can’t stay away too long. Otherwise, he will get suspicious.”
