Chapter 378: A Bad Premonition
Walking to the dining table, Bai Hanyun smiled and greeted the others, “Good morning. You guys are up early.”

Glancing at his watch, Jiang Yinqi replied, “It’s not early anymore. We need to meet Chaoyang and go over the plan one last time. I’m worried Bai Yansheng might do something rash once he finds out you are still alive.”

Sitting beside him at the dining table, Bai Hanyun calmly accepted the bowl of porridge Feng Wu handed her.

“Thank you, Feng Wu,” she thanked him with a smile.

“It’s my pleasure to serve you, Fairy Bai.”

After serving her the porridge, Feng Wu poured a glass of soy milk and placed it in front of her. When he was done, he sat down and only began eating after Bai Hanyun took a bite.

Watching the whole scene, Wu Jun couldn’t help but glance at Feng Wu a few more times. Curious about the reason for his devoted treatment of Bai Hanyun.

After taking a few sips of porridge to warm her stomach, Bai Hanyun said, “Elder Brother Yinqi, don’t worry. With Brother Hua, Feng Wu, and the others here, I will be fine. Besides, Bai Yansheng won’t dare to kill me in public. If he dares, he won’t send those assassins to kill me.”

Rolling his eyes at her, Jiang Yinqi wanted to remind her of how she fell off the cliff before, but he swallowed the words back. With Hua Yuyu and his teammates sitting there, he didn’t dare to say that they were useless.

Before long, the group finished breakfast, and Jiang Yinqi urged them to leave before the other residents woke up.

If someone recognized Bai Hanyun and posted her picture or video online, their entire plan would be ruined.

While Bai Hanyun and the others were on their way to meet Hu Chaoyang, Bai Yansheng and the other shareholders were holding an emergency online meeting.

Staring at the laptop screen, Bai Yansheng looked at the shareholders’ faces.

Seeing that he was deep in thought, one of the shareholders asked, “Director Bai, why are you calling us so early in the morning today for a meeting? Does this sudden meeting have anything to do with today’s shareholders’ meeting?”

Bai Yansheng nodded and replied, “I have a bad premonition about today’s shareholders’ meeting.”

When the others heard this, they were silent for a moment before one of them laughed and said calmly, “Director Bai, you are too paranoid. What can that brat possibly do in this situation? I think he is calling for a meeting to hand you the position of chairman.”

Hearing this, another shareholder added, “That’s right. The Bai Group’s shares have been fluctuating greatly since the day we assassinated that girl. As the CEO, that brat must be under heavy pressure.”

“Besides, he is just an employee. Right now, he must be facing pressure from the public and the other shareholders, so he has resolved to take the last option, which is to support Director Bai as the new chairman.”

After listening to this analysis, the other shareholders nodded in agreement.

Bai Yansheng frowned slightly, still feeling uneasy. But upon seeing their confident expressions, his frown eased, and he smiled faintly.

“You are right. I must have been too stressed these past few days and thinking too much.”

When he said that, the other shareholders offered a few polite words and fake concerns before ending the emergency meeting.

“Alright. I will see you all later.” With that, Bai Yansheng disconnected from the video call and began preparing to go to the Bai Group.

Meanwhile, Bai Hanyun and the others followed Jiang Yinqi to the Hu family’s mansion.

After driving past the huge metal gate, they continued for another five minutes before Jiang Yinqi stopped his sports car in front of the mansion’s main entrance.

Before he could open the door, the butler had already stepped forward to do it for him.

Bowing slightly, the butler said, “Attorney Jiang, the young master has been waiting for you in his study.”

Hearing this, Jiang Yinqi nodded, then walked to the passenger side and opened the door. After Bai Hanyun got out, she gave Hua Yuyu and the others a subtle signal with her eyes.

The moment the butler saw her, he froze in shock, speechless.

Bai Hanyun smiled politely at him and nodded in greeting, then followed Jiang Yinqi into the mansion, with Hua Yuyu and his team walking behind them.

After they had walked far enough, the butler finally came back to his senses and thought, ‘No wonder the young master’s been so busy these days, barely eating or sleeping. It’s because Miss Bai is still alive!’

Shaking his head, the butler sighed heavily. ‘Looks like the young master won’t be coming home again this week. I should inform Madam so she doesn’t keep waiting for him.’

Having made up his mind, the butler quickly went to the dining room to find Madam Hu and shared the shocking discovery he had just made.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yinqi led the others to Hu Chaoyang’s study. Standing in front of the door, he knocked gently.

Knock, knock, knock.

A few seconds later, a tired, slightly hoarse voice came from inside.

“Come in.”

Pushing open the door, Jiang Yinqi stepped into the study and asked, “Chaoyang, are you done with the preparations?”

As he spoke, his eyes landed on Hu Chaoyang’s unkempt appearance. His eyes widened in surprise as he asked, “What happened to you? Why do you look like a beggar?”

Still typing rapidly on his keyboard, Hu Chaoyang glanced up from the screen and saw Bai Hanyun enter with the others.

He paused his work, stretched his stiff neck, and replied tiredly, “Just lack of sleep.”

Jiang Yinqi shook his head and said, “Brother, you should really get some rest. The dark circles under your eyes are big enough to fit a hundred kilos of rice.”

Waving his hand dismissively, Hu Chaoyang responded, “No time. I will sleep after we finish everything today.”

Then he stood up, gestured toward the couch, and said, “Chairwoman Bai, please have a seat.”
