When Lu Renyi heard the name, his eyes flickered for a second. “Yeah, I do. What about it?”

Hou Zuquan explained, “There will be a shareholders’ meeting tomorrow morning in the Bai Group’s headquarters. My boss is worried something might happen and asked me to take precautions. Because of the company’s image, we don’t want to invite a whole group of police officers.”

“Since you told me you work as a police officer, I thought I’d ask if you could come to the Bai Group’s office building tomorrow morning. Just in case something happens later.”

After listening to the explanation, Lu Renyi said, “I don’t have any urgent cases tomorrow. If you need me there, I will come. What time should I arrive?”

“Before nine o’clock,” Hou Zuquan replied quickly. “My boss said he will pay for your time and effort.”

Lu Renyi chuckled when he heard this. “No need. Just treat me to a cup of coffee when it’s all over.”

Grinning widely, Hou Zuquan promised, “Don’t worry, I will. Thanks, Renyi.”

“No problem.”

After the call ended, Lu Renyi put down his phone and suddenly stood up. He opened a drawer and rummaged through some folders before pulling out a thick file.

Opening it, his eyes quickly scanned the documents, and then gleamed as he muttered excitedly, “As expected. This really is an opportunity sent by Heaven!”

With the thick file in hand, Lu Renyi rushed out of his office and quickly left the police station.

After buying their meal, Bai Hanyun and the others arrived at the apartment complex in no time.

Since it was still working hours, the place was nearly empty. Only a few elderly people were sitting in the garden near their apartment buildings, playing chess or chatting with their neighbors about local gossip.

Taking advantage of the quiet moment when nobody was paying attention to them, Bai Hanyun and the others quickly entered the building where Jiang Yinqi’s apartment was located.

Stepping into the elevator, Bai Hanyun pressed the button for the thirtieth floor.

From the thirtieth to the fortieth floor, there were only two households on each level. As for the top five floors, each was occupied by a single household with its own private elevator.

After a few minutes, they reached the thirtieth floor and stepped out of the elevator. Seeing no one around, Bai Hanyun led the others toward Jiang Yinqi’s apartment.

She pressed the password panel to activate it, then entered the ten-digit code. With a soft click, the door unlocked, and they smoothly went inside.

When the door closed behind them, Bai Hanyun let out a tired sigh. After changing her shoes, she walked to the living room and then slumped onto the couch.

Seeing her exhaustion, Hua Yuyu said, “Miss Bai, you can rest first while we prepare the meal.”

Hearing this, Bai Hanyun got up from the couch. “Then I will take a shower to freshen up first.”

After saying that, Bai Hanyun went to one of the guest rooms she had used before.

While she was showering, Hua Yuyu and the others checked the apartment for hidden surveillance cameras or recording devices.

Ten minutes later, they gathered in the living room and shook their heads.

“Captain, this place is clear.” Gao Gong reported.

After confirming that the apartment was safe, Hua Yuyu and the others relaxed their vigilance.

Looking at his friends’ tired faces, Hua Yuyu said, “You guys get some rest. I will prepare the food.”

As he walked to the kitchen, Xie Wei silently followed, while the others sat on the couch and chatted.

Half an hour later, Bai Hanyun came out of her bedroom and joined the others for an early dinner. Since everyone was tired, they finished the meal quickly and returned to their own rooms to rest.

Unable to sleep, Bai Hanyun touched the red mark on her wrist and softly called, “Feng Xiyan, are you there?”

The moment Feng Xiyan felt a warm sensation on his wrist, he knew the connection between him and Bai Hanyun had activated.

Hearing her soft voice calling his name, Feng Xiyan smiled and responded with a hint of worry in his gentle voice, “I’m here. Yun’er, you sound tired. Did something happen?”

Lying on the bed, Bai Hanyun sighed and began telling him about her day. As the two of them talked, time slipped by without them noticing.

When she finally realized it was already late, Bai Hanyun said with a hint of guilt in her voice, “I’m sorry. I lost track of time and kept you up even though you are tired from the long journey. You still need to continue your journey tomorrow.”

Lying on the ground inside his sleeping bag, Feng Xiyan gazed up at the starry sky.

He smiled and gently said, “All my exhaustion disappears when I talk with you. Yun’er, I wish we could talk like this every day. Will you grant me this request?”

After saying that, he waited for her reply. But after a while, all he heard was her slow, steady breathing.

Smiling softly, Feng Xiyan whispered, “Good night, Yun’er. I hope we can meet again soon. I miss you so much.”

Early the next morning, Jiang Yinqi came and knocked on Bai Hanyun’s door.

After knocking a few times with no response, he knocked again and called, “Hanyun, wake up. We need to meet with Chaoyang before going to the Bai Group.”
