Chapter 374: Gui Ying’s Worries
Just as that thought flashed through Bai Hanyun’s mind, Feng Xiyan suddenly heard her voice echo in his head. He was shocked at first, but quickly calmed down and analyzed the situation.
Remembering the first time he had heard the Yin Mirror’s voice in his mind, Feng Xiyan suddenly had a bold idea.
Unable to wait any longer, he took a deep breath and thought, ‘Yun’er? Can you hear me?’
The moment he thought this, Bai Hanyun froze on her bed in surprise. When she came back to her senses, she looked down at the red mark on her wrist.
With her thumb still touching it, she swallowed and hesitantly asked, ‘Feng Xiyan? Can you hear me?’
Hearing her response, Feng Xiyan’s eyes lit up. ‘Yes. Looks like we can talk with our minds.’
Bai Hanyun stared at the red mark for a moment when she heard that. After pondering for a few seconds, she let go of it and thought again, ‘Feng Xiyan? Can you still hear me now?’
She waited for a while but didn’t receive any reply from him, and thought, ‘It seems that I can only talk to him with my mind when I’m touching the red mark.’
Wanting to confirm her guess, Bai Hanyun touched the red mark again and called out, ‘Feng Xiyan? Are you still there?’
Meanwhile, Feng Xiyan had been calling her several times without getting a response. Just as he started to feel anxious, he finally heard her voice again.
Letting out a sigh of relief, he replied, ‘I’m here. What happened just now? Why did you suddenly disappear?’
His question confirmed Bai Hanyun’s guess. Delighted by this discovery, she quickly shared it with him.
‘Feng Xiyan, I just found out that we can communicate telepathically when one of us touches the red mark on our wrist. Otherwise, we will need to summon the Yang or Yin Mirrors. Although we can see each other that way, it’s not very convenient when other people are around.’
Feng Xiyan’s eyes flickered with astonishment at her explanation. Remembering what the Yin Mirror had once told him, his mood brightened as he said with a smile on his lips, ‘Yun’er, we really are fated to each other.’
Not understanding why he suddenly said that, Bai Hanyun scratched her cheek in confusion. Thinking that if the two of them were not fated, they wouldn’t be able to talk to each other right now.
A few seconds later, she replied with a smile, ‘Well… I guess you are right.’
After discovering that they could talk with their minds, Bai Hanyun lay on her bed and chatted with Feng Xiyan.
One was bored, while the other was happy just to listen to her.
Without anyone else interrupting, the two of them chatted for hours, until someone suddenly knocked on the bedroom door.
Knock, knock, knock.
Bai Hanyun heard the knocking and quickly said, ‘Feng Xiyan, someone is knocking on my door. Let’s talk again later.’
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan reluctantly replied, ‘Alright.’
Getting out of bed, Bai Hanyun opened the door and saw Bao Shengjie standing there. “Shengjie, what’s wrong?”
“Miss Bai, Brother Yu said we will be leaving for Xi Yang City in three hours. We will meet the others at the airport and board the plane together,” Bao Shengjie explained calmly.
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun realized that Ouyang Zhuangyu had been discharged from the hospital without any issues. She nodded and said, “Got it. I will be ready in twenty minutes.”
With that, she quickly took a bath and packed her things into her Qiankun Pouch. When she stepped out of her bedroom carrying her backpack, Hua Yuyu and the others were already waiting for her.
Standing up from the couch, Hua Yuyu asked, “Is there anything you left behind?”
Bai Hanyun shook her head. “No. I’m ready to go.”
Picking up his own backpack, Hua Yuyu said, “Then we should hurry before the people from Xue Wu Gang find out our itinerary.”
With that, the group left the apartment in a rush. Before leaving, Hua Yuyu contacted the apartment owner to end the rental contract early.
At first, the owner refused. But after Hua Yuyu offered to let him keep the remaining rent and just return the deposit, the owner quickly agreed.
On their way to the airport, Bai Hanyun glanced at Feng Wu, who was holding his sword while staring out the window with curiosity.
“Feng Wu, you’d better store your sword and hidden weapons in your Qiankun Pouch. Otherwise, the police might arrest you for carrying illegal weapons.”
Feng Wu turned from the window to look at his sword, then nodded and obediently stored it away in the Qiankun Pouch.
Seeing this, Bai Hanyun smiled. Remembering that she hadn’t seen the black boxes containing the guns and bullets, she asked, “Brother Hua, where did you keep the guns?”
Sitting in the passenger seat, Hua Yuyu glanced at her through the rearview mirror and replied, “Xiaowu told us about the Qiankun Pouch’s function, so we asked him to keep the weapons for now.”
Hearing that, Bai Hanyun thought, ‘Should I ask Gui Ying for more Qiankun Pouches later?’
Just as she thought that, Gui Ying suddenly sneezed. “Achoo!”
Rubbing his nose, he muttered, “The air in this world is so polluted that this young master is starting to catch a cold. This won’t do. This young master needs to urge that kid to finish his matters here quickly so we can return early.”
With that thought in mind, Gui Ying quickly finished his game. When the “Victory!” sounded from his phone, Gui Ying put on his mask and hood, then snapped his fingers.
A second later, his figure disappeared from the bedroom.
Already used to the antics of this newly discovered young master who could perform magic, the bodyguard watching the surveillance camera feeds calmly picked up his phone and dialed a number.
He didn’t have to wait long before Ke Ting’s tired voice came through the line. “What did that ancestor do again this time?”
Hearing the question, the bodyguard’s mouth twitched.
