Chapter 363: Counting The Chickens Before The Eggs Hatch
After a brief thought, Jiang Yinqi responded, “All right. Let’s do as you say. I will handle spreading the news, and you should prepare to take down Bai Yansheng and his people.”

“Got it.” Hu Chaoyang responded.

After ending the call with Hu Chaoyang, Jiang Yinqi made another call. He waited a moment for the connection and ordered, “Help me release the news of Hanyun’s death. Make sure nobody can trace it back to me.”

When the man on the other end heard this, he asked, “How fast do you want the news to spread?”

Jiang Yinqi thought for a moment and said, “I want the news to reach Bai Yansheng and his people in four hours.”

“Understood. Leave it to us.”

After the man hung up, Jiang Yinqi let out a tired sigh. He turned his chair and stared at the gloomy sky outside through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

“Looks like it’s finally going to rain today,” he whispered after a long silence.

Four hours later, news of Bai Hanyun’s death spread like wildfire through the wealthy circles.

Swish—!

In a golf club specialized for wealthy people, Bai Yansheng hit the golf ball and watched it fly away, feeling good.

Sitting at the round table behind him, one of the three Bai Group’s shareholders clapped and praised, “Good shot! Yansheng, looks like your skill has improved again.”

Listening to the praise, Bai Yansheng’s lips curved up with a hint of pride. He handed the golf club to the caddie, took off his gloves, and sat down in an empty seat.

Taking a sip of his coffee, he humbly said, “You are overpraising me. It was just a lucky shot.”

Everyone present was an old fox who’d been doing business for decades. When they heard Bai Yansheng’s modest words, the three of them sneered inwardly.

It’s a public secret that Bai Yansheng was the adopted son of the old Chairman Bai.

As legitimate heirs of prominent families in Xi Yang City, the three shareholders looked down on Bai Yansheng since they were young.

If not for the shares he held and the profits he brought them, who would bother giving him face?

Although the three shareholders held contempt for him in their hearts, none of it showed on their faces.

After a brief silence, one of them asked probingly, “Yansheng, have you heard the recent news circulating in the circle?”

Raising his brow at the question, Bai Yansheng asked back, “You mean the news about that ungrateful bastard?”

When the three shareholders heard him call Bai Hanyun, the legitimate heir of the Bai family, an “ungrateful bastard,” they exchanged knowing looks full of contempt.

The shareholder who had asked the question didn’t respond to Bai Yansheng’s insult but said, “I heard that before she went missing, she made a will, and that will is now with Attorney Jiang. Do you know what’s in it?”

Bai Yansheng scoffed and said, “Who cares about her will? I’m the only one left of the Bai family.”

“By hierarchy, I’m her father. By first-come, first-served, those shares should belong to me. As long as nobody sees the will, Bai Group will be mine, and you will get your cut.”

Listening to Bai Yansheng’s confident words, the three shareholders looked at one another, raised their coffee cups, and said in unison, “Then we will toast to your success in taking over Bai Group.”

Bai Yansheng raised his cup in response, and the four of them took a sip of their coffee. After that, they enjoyed the game while chatting about how to divide Bai Hanyun’s shares.

While Bai Yansheng and the shareholders were counting their chickens before the egg hatched, Bai Li was once again blocked before she could see Gui Xiaoxu’s shadow.

Glaring at the receptionists, she demanded, “Do you know who I am?”

The receptionists were trained and professional. With the Gui Group as their backing, none of the four receptionists paid Bai Li any heed.

When the receptionist who had been speaking to her simply smiled, Bai Li’s anger rose.

She slammed her hand on the counter and threatened, “I’m the only young lady of the Bai Group and your future CEO’s wife. If you dare—”

Before Bai Li could finish her threat, a cold voice came from the side. “What will you do to our workers, Second Miss Bai?”

At once, the four receptionists turned and bowed slightly as they greeted, “Assistant Ke.”

Ke Ting waved a hand and said, “I will take care of this. You should return to your duties.”

“Yes, Assistant Ke.”

With Ke Ting’s words, the receptionists ignored Bai Li and got back to work.

Seeing that it was Ke Ting, Bai Li frowned slightly and asked in dissatisfaction, “Assistant Ke, where is Elder Brother Xiaoxu? I had called several times to make an appointment with him, but you all always block my way.”

Ke Ting’s lips curved up slightly at her words. “Second Miss Bai, please watch your language.”

“As far as I remember, you have never once spoken to our CEO. It’s inappropriate to address him so familiarly. I’m afraid you are damaging our CEO’s reputation.”

Bai Li’s face twisted with hatred and anger when she heard this. She gritted her teeth and threateningly said, “Mind your attitude. If I become Elder Brother Xiaoxu’s wife, the first thing I will do is fire you!”

Ke Ting chuckled at Bai Li’s empty threat. Snapping his fingers, he said calmly, “Security, escort this young lady out. From now on, anyone who allows her into this building will be fired.”

The moment he finished speaking, two security guards in black combat uniforms stepped forward and grabbed Bai Li’s arms.

“Let me go!” Bai Li shouted furiously while trying to free herself.

Ke Ting took a few steps forward, leaned toward her, and lowered his voice with a smile, “Second Miss Bai, you should be grateful you came during the day. Otherwise, you might not get out of here alive. If you want to live longer, stay away from our CEO.”

When Bai Li heard this, she wanted to curse. But the second her gaze met Ke Ting’s cold eyes with a hint of murderous intent, her courage crumbled.
