Chapter 278: Chapter 278
Seraphina’s POV

The howling stopped.

Silence fell over the ruined camp. Heavy. Final. The kind of silence that comes after war.

I shifted back to human form. My body aching. Exhausted. But alive.

So alive.

Damien shifted beside me. His hand found mine immediately. Squeezed.

“It’s over.” His voice was rough. Tired. But certain. “It’s really over.”

I looked around. At the bodies. The blood. The destruction we’d caused.

Voss was dead. His rogues defeated. The threat ended.

“Count the wounded!” Damien’s voice rang out. Stronger now. Alpha command. “Get medical teams moving! I want everyone treated within the hour!”

Warriors sprang into action. Some shifting back to human. Others staying in wolf form. All of them moving with purpose.

Lucas appeared. Limping slightly. Blood matting his fur. But upright.

He shifted. “Alpha. Luna.” His eyes lingered on me. On that title. “We have casualties. Seventeen wounded. Three critical. But no deaths.”

No deaths.

The relief hit hard. Our pack was intact. Battered but whole.

“The rogues?” Damien asked.

“Twenty-three surrendered.” Lucas gestured to the kneeling wolves. “Some fled into the forest. We can hunt them down if you want.”

“Take them back.” Damien shook his head. “They’re not a threat anymore. Don’t kill them.”

He turned to address the surrendered rogues. His voice carrying. Commanding attention.

“You have two choices!” He walked toward them. Me right beside him. “Join my pack. Accept our rules. Our leadership. Live in peace.”

He paused. Let that sink in.

“Or leave. Now. While you still can. But know this—if I ever see any of you again, if you ever threaten my territory or my pack again, I won’t show mercy.”

The rogues looked at each other. Uncertain. Afraid.

Then one of them—a young male with brown fur—shifted to human. Dropped to his knees.

“I’ll join.” His voice shook. “Please. I just—I just wanted to survive. Voss said—”

“I know what Voss said.” Damien’s voice softened slightly. “But he lied. About a lot of things.”

More rogues shifted. More dropped to their knees. Choosing survival. Choosing peace.

Within minutes, all twenty-three had submitted.

“Good.” Damien nodded. “You’ll be assigned to work details. Earn your place in this pack. Prove yourselves worthy. Can you do that?”

“Yes, Alpha!” The response was immediate. Unified. Desperate.

“Then welcome home.” The words seemed to surprise even him. “You’re pack now. Act like it.”

—

The journey back took hours.

We moved slowly. The wounded needing care. The surrendered rogues needing supervision. The whole pack exhausted from battle.

But nobody complained. Nobody lagged behind.

We were going home. That was all that mattered.

I walked beside Damien. Our hands linked. Neither of us willing to let go.

Around us, warriors talked. Laughed. Celebrating victory. Telling stories of the battle that were already growing more dramatic with each retelling.

“Did you see the Luna take down that big rogue?”

“She ripped his throat out in one move!”

“And her wolf! Did you see her wolf? Silver-white! I’ve never seen anything like it!”

I flushed. Looked away. Not used to being talked about. Being seen.

“They’re right though.” Damien’s voice was quiet. Just for me. “You were magnificent.”

“I just—” I stopped. Swallowed. “I just did what needed to be done.”

“No.” He pulled me closer. “You were a warrior. A leader. An Alpha.”

Alpha.

The word still felt strange. Foreign. Like clothing that didn’t quite fit.

But my wolf disagreed. She stretched inside me. Satisfied. Comfortable in her power.

*This is who we are,* she whispered. *Who we’ve always been.*

—

The pack territory appeared ahead. Home.

Warriors lined the borders. Waiting. Watching. When they saw us approaching, they started cheering.

The sound built. Growing. Spreading. Until the whole territory was celebrating.

Children ran forward. Families reuniting. Mates finding each other. Joy and relief everywhere.

I spotted Adrian and Lily immediately. Standing with Ophelia at the pack house steps.

They saw me. Saw Damien. Started running.

“Daddy! Mommy!” Lily’s voice carried. “You’re home!”

We both dropped to our knees. Catching them. Pulling them close.

“We’re home.” Damien’s voice cracked. “We’re both home.”

Adrian buried his face in my neck. His small body shaking. “I was scared. I thought—people were saying—”

“Shh.” I held him tighter. “I’m okay. We’re both okay.”

“You smell different.” Adrian pulled back slightly. His nose wrinkling. “Like—like Daddy. Like Alpha.”

Smart boy. Always so observant.

“We’ll explain everything.” I kissed his forehead. “But first, let everyone else celebrate. Okay?”

He nodded. Still uncertain. But trusting.

Lily was chattering away. Telling Damien about some drawing she’d made. About how she’d been brave. About how she’d known we’d win.

My heart swelled. These kids. Our kids. Safe. Happy. Whole.

We stood. The children clinging to us. The pack gathering around. Hundreds of faces. All of them watching. Waiting.

Damien stepped forward. His voice rising to carry across the crowd.

“Today we won!” He raised his fist. “Today we defeated an enemy who thought they could destroy us! Who thought they could take our territory! Our freedom! Our lives!”

The crowd roared. Approval. Agreement. Victory.

“But this victory belongs to all of you!” He gestured to the warriors. “Every fighter who stood against the rogues! Every person who held the line! You’re the true heroes!”

More cheering. Louder. Fiercer.

“And there’s something else you need to know!” Damien’s hand found mine. Pulled me forward. “Something important!”

The crowd quieted. Curious. Attentive.

“Many of you have wondered about your Luna.” His voice got softer. “About her strength. Her power. Her wolf.”

Nods. Murmurs of agreement.

“Today she shifted.” He continued. “Today her true nature emerged. And I’m here to tell you—to announce to all of you—the truth.”

He turned to me. His eyes warm. Proud. “Seraphina is not omega. Never was. She’s Alpha. Pure Alpha bloodline.”

Gasps. Shocked faces. Everyone staring at me.

“More than that.” Damien’s voice got louder. “She’s the daughter of the Northern Pack Alphas. The ones who were murdered years ago. The rightful heir to that territory.”

The crowd erupted. Questions. Exclamations. Disbelief and wonder mixing together.

“The Northern Pack?” Someone shouted. “But they fell! The bloodline was lost!”

“No.” Damien shook his head. “The bloodline survived. Through her. Through their daughter who was hidden. Protected. Raised in secret.”

He squeezed my hand. “And now she’s returned. Not as omega. Not as some powerless wolf. But as what she’s always been. Alpha. Luna. Warrior.”

“She fought beside me today!” His voice rose to a shout. “Killed rogues! Saved lives! Led our warriors to victory!”

The crowd was silent now. Absorbing this. Processing.

Then someone stepped forward. Marcus. Wounded but standing straight.

He dropped to one knee. His head bowed. “Alpha. Luna.”

Another warrior followed. Then another. Like dominoes falling.

The entire pack kneeling. Hundreds of wolves. All of them bowing. Submitting. Accepting.

Not just to Damien. To both of us. Together.

Tears streamed down my face. But I stood tall. Shoulders back. Head high.

This was who I was. Who I’d always been meant to be.

Alpha. Luna. Mate. Mother.

Leader.

Damien’s hand tightened on mine. Through our bond, I felt his pride. His love. His absolute certainty.

*My equal,* he sent. *My partner. My everything.*

*Always,* I sent back. *Together.*

The pack stayed kneeling. Waiting for acknowledgment. For acceptance of their submission.

I looked at them. At all these wolves. My pack. Our pack.

“Rise.” My voice came out strong. Clear. Luna command. “All of you. Rise and celebrate. We’ve won. We’re safe. We’re home.”

They stood. Slowly. Then the cheering started again. Louder than before.
