Chapter 795: Theories and Disguise
World Seas, Navy Fort.

“…One more drink, please!”

The bar was packed with customers. There were both navy soldiers and civilians enjoying a night out.

The televisions mounted on the walls were showing either sports games or news updates, and currently, they showed a live feed of the region near Dead World.

“…The Great Wall of Dead World construction has officially started. The Human Government signed off on it last week, and construction crews are already hard at work.”

“…After the disastrous failed expedition, which caused the death of three Immortals, nobody wants to touch that land even with a big stick!”

Sitting on a stool by the bar, Julian-in-disguise listened to the sound of the television and enjoyed a cold beer.

Many would think he would be a madman for going to the heart of the Navy operations because he was an extremely wanted man, but the place they least expected him to be was Navy Fort!

Julian was also here for some… personal business that he had been waiting to do for the past ten years.

“I don’t understand what the government thinks. Building that big-ass wall will take hundreds of years to build, and how much money will be wasted on that project, I wonder?”

The bartender said with a scoff.

“…Human Government has to calm down the rising panic among the people. They wonder what could’ve possibly killed three Immortals, and building this wall is just a way to ease their fears.”

The navy soldier said, sitting next to Julian, who clearly had no idea that one of the world’s most wanted men was sitting right beside him.

“It’s just the toxic air that killed them, no? What else could it be? I’ve heard the possibility of some mutated Magical Beasts over in there, but if that’s the case, then how come those things haven’t swum over here yet?”

The bartender asked.

“The mist is also filled with all kinds of strange creatures. Maybe they never even made it to the Dead World and died within the mist.

“…Which is probably even more frightening.”

The navy soldier said.

“What do you think?”

The bartender asked Julian, who was wearing a disguise of a navy soldier.

With his invisibility ability, he just sneaked inside Navy Fort without anyone noticing and stole an outfit from the barracks.

“I think there is a hostile civilization thriving in Dead World who killed them.”

Julian said.

“Hahahaha!”

The navy soldier beside him laughed.

“I see, you are one of THOSE kinds of people. It sure is exciting to think about there being a whole thriving civilization, but if that’s the case, how come they never tried to communicate with us?”

The bartender asked.

“…They probably just don’t want to.”

Julian said and sipped on the cold beer.

“And why would that be?”

The bartender asked.

“Even if there is new life growing there, how could they possibly kill three Immortals? It just doesn’t make sense.”

The navy soldier said.

“Paradise World was known for its technology that was hundreds of years more advanced than that of Martial World.

“It could be that technology survived and had been improved in the hands of the new civilization, and they managed to make weapons that could kill Immortals.

“There is also the possibility that Dead World is just a much richer environment to advance in the Martial Arts Pathway.”

Julian said.

“It’s just tinfoil conspiracy theory nonsense!”

The navy soldier said.

He believed that the real explanation was really simple and that the air in Dead World was just hellishly toxic.

With the toxic air capable of killing Immortals, wearing masks also wouldn’t matter in that case.

‘Human Government had sent expeditions with masks to Dead World to combat the toxicity, but if that toxicity is so bad that it can kill Immortals, it could explain how they died.’

The navy soldier thought to himself.

He had also been very interested in Dead World and had watched hundreds of videos in FightTube about that topic.

There were many theories about Dead World that made the navy soldier think, “Wait, that sounds like it could be factual!”

“I think the Human Government is just waiting till the technology advances. In the future, we can just send helicopters or those flying ships to Dead World with camera technology that actually works.

“Not a single piece of tech equipment works in Dead World, but I am sure there is a way to fix that somehow.”

The bartender said.

“…How much for the beer?”

Julian asked.

“Twelve.”

The bartender said.

After rummaging through his pockets, he grabbed twelve gold coins, put them down on the counter, picked up his coat, and walked out of the bar.

The chilly wind of the World Seas breezed through the dark streets of the Navy Fort, and people were heading back home.

The navy soldiers were marching down the streets, keeping the streets safe, and the civilians were walking out of their work.

Most of the civilians of Navy Fort were family members of other navy soldiers, and in Navy Fort, they usually did jobs of cooking in the mess hall, cleaning the barracks, or assisting with administrative tasks.

There were also stores, restaurants, and other amenities on the base for the civilians to work in.

“…”

Julian looked towards the headquarters building. It was the biggest building in Navy Fort. It was a tall castle-like building with a clock tower that overlooked the entire base.

It was the heart of all Navy operations.

‘…That bastard’s over there. It’s been ten years since that night. I won’t leave tonight without his head.’

Julian vanished from the streets—he turned invisible—and the echo of footsteps resounded in the streets until they vanished as well.

The moon shone down on the navy base, casting a pale light, and there were still navy soldiers patrolling the hallways.

In the Fleet Admiral’s chamber, Ethan was sleeping with his wife snuggled close to him, and in that moment, the door creaked open.

It lasted for only a moment, and the door closed again.

“…Mh?”

Ethan’s eyes fluttered open with a suspicious look, and he sat up.

The dark room was illuminated only by the faint light of the moon filtering in through the curtains, and there was nobody else here.

His wife was sleeping without making any noise.

Yet…

“Hello, who is there?”

Ethan asked.

There was a foreign presence here that he was able to sense.
