Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 787
Chapter 787: Nightmare
“…Ugh… Ugh!”
Sabbath crawled with a broken back and bruised ribs.
He could feel the life slowly slipping away from him.
In that moment, he crawled and happened to touch someone’s feet. He raised his gaze to see the massive Kouketsu looking down at him with all his eight eyes.
“Fuck… you.”
Sabbath spoke through pain.
“…Humans… So weak.”
Kouketsu stomped down and crushed him like a bug.
All that was left of Sabbath was the bloody mangled corpse of him.
…
“…Haah… Haah…”
Xerxus grabbed his head, fell down on one knee, and grimaced in agony.
“What are you doing, Xerxus? Help me here!”
Imperius shouted as he was currently the only one fighting against Gaoh, and he couldn’t dodge his chain whip attacks at all.
He was barely able to stand anymore with his arms and legs being broken, but he was Immortal, so he wasn’t going to fall down.
It had been over a thousand years since he had been beaten down to such an extent.
“Everyone is dead…”
Xerxus whispered.
“…?!”
Imperius couldn’t believe what he had just heard and remembered every face that came with them to his expedition.
It was a massive mistake after all.
They had underestimated the Dead World.
In that moment, Gaoh punched through Imperius’ face and caused it to explode like a ripe watermelon.
The feared Pirate Immortal, who had been spreading fear across all of World Sea for hundreds of years, had… died!
“…”
Xerxus didn’t move and just hung his head low with a defeated expression on his face.
‘…Humans will go extinct. Why aren’t they attacking Martial World yet? They hate humans, and with their strength they would destroy us easily.
‘…Unless they are overestimating humanity’s strength.’
Xerxus gritted his teeth and looked up at Gaoh.
“You fucking morons—we humans will prevail as we always do—our armies are mighty and our will is unbreakable!
“You cannot defeat our Gods!”
Gaoh just laughed at his boastful words and said.
“You have no Gods. You humans are weak.”
“…If you know that, why haven’t you attacked us yet?”
Xerxus asked with a pale face.
“We listen to our ruler. We will only attack when she commands us to do so.”
Gaoh said.
“…Your ruler? Mercedes Rosburg, by any chance?”
Xerxus asked coldly.
“…How do you know her name?”
Gaoh’s eyes turned cold, and he grabbed Xerxus by his throat and lifted him off the ground till his feet dangled in the air.
“…Haha, not telling you.”
Xerxus smirked.
“Then you will die.”
Gaoh said.
“…It is funny to me that you despise humans, but you are being ruled over by a human. Mercedes Rosburg comes from Martial World, after all.”
Xerxus said.
“She is no human! She is greater than that. She has reached the apex of strength, the pinnacle of existence. She is Primordial!”
‘…Primordial?’
Xerxus’ eyes shook.
In that moment, Gaoh broke his neck, and Xerxus’ eyes lost their light. He looked like a doll with those pearly eyes.
He dropped to the ground, lifeless and motionless.
…
“Haah! Haah! Haah!”
Antigone was running away in the forest and she didn’t dare to look behind in case someone was chasing her.
She was crying.
All her friends were dead, and she had a hunch that her master, Xerxus, had also met his demise in the hands of Gaoh.
There was nobody left.
She was all alone.
Swoosh!
In that moment, a sword came for her neck, but she happened to trip over a branch and accidentally dodged it.
“…I missed? Hmm.”
Miseria looked at the crying Antigone and was ready to end her once and for all, but then Antigone started weeping.
“P-Please… Spare me… I’ll do anything!”
Miseria didn’t pay attention to her begging. Instead, she raised her weapon and brought it down to her.
The blade neared Antigone’s neck.
In that moment, someone jumped out from behind the trees and kicked the sword aside—barely enough to miss Antigone.
“Ah…”
With teary eyes, Antigone saw the back of a gray-haired young man, who was dressed in pure black qi and who held a black blade of his own.
“Run, Antigone, now!”
Kiernan screamed, and he swung his black blade at Miseria, but she effortlessly blocked it with her thin blade.
Antigone panicked, scattered back to her feet, and started running away.
“…”
Miseria just swung her blade, and Kiernan immediately ducked and created a shallow pond of black matter under Antigone’s feet.
The shallow pond swallowed her entirely.
The slash by Miseria slashed through every tree in the vicinity and even the mountain in the distance.
If Kiernan hadn’t swallowed Antigone with his darkness, she would’ve died right there.
“Huff!”
Kiernan rained slashes at Miseria, but she just effortlessly moved her sword and deflected each and every one of his attacks, much to Kiernan’s frustration.
It wasn’t a surprise to him that his attacks failed.
‘…If I don’t bring Antigone out of the darkness realm, she will soon suffocate!’
Kiernan thought.
He clicked his tongue and brought her out, and she started wheezing as she felt like she had held her breath for a long time.
“Run!”
Kiernan screamed and tried to keep Miseria busy, but she just ignored Kiernan and caught up to running Antigone in an instant.
She swung her sword at her, and at the last possible moment, Kiernan created a wall of darkness between the two of them.
Miseria’s sword still effortlessly went through the wall of darkness, but it happened to miss Antigone by a hair’s breadth.
“…”
Miseria was getting slightly annoyed at her attacks failing.
“…Haha, what are you doing, Miseria?”
In that moment, they heard someone laugh and saw a twisted-looking man sitting on a branch, watching the show.
Twisted looked at Kiernan with a grin.
‘What is this crazy strength that I am sensing?’
Kiernan’s eyes shook.
In that moment, the ground shook and Kouketsu came running in like a raging bull. It sounded like an earthquake was hitting the ground.
From the sky, a black dragon descended in the middle of the forest with Gaoh riding it.
Antigone and Kiernan were completely surrounded by three True Immortals and one False God. It was a worse nightmare than either of them could come up with.
