Magus Supremacy - Chapter 690
Chapter 690: A Mother’s Curse!
CHAPTER 690
Spatial Magic. A form of power ranked among the big four special magics a mage could awaken. (Time, Space, Chaos, and Spatial.)
Before any mage could even dream of awakening a special affinity, the odds were absurdly low.
One in a million per generation was already considered generous. Entire eras could pass without a single wielder appearing.
If fortune smiled upon a mage, they might awaken Space magic or even Chaos. Either one was enough to elevate a person into legend.
But there were two affinities that stood above all others.
Spatial and Time.
Those who possessed such power were viewed as beings bordering on godhood. Especially wielders of Time magic, whose rarity bordered on the mythical.
And right now, right here, Z5 was witnessing Grey manifest Spatial magic with his own eyes.
Worse, Grey did not crawl through the basic tier like most mages would. He skipped the foundation entirely and leapt straight into advanced application.
And Z5 was about to pay the price.
Ash colored portals bloomed open around him.
Massive lightning spears crackled violently, their tips peeking out like serpents lurking within shadows, coiled and ready to strike.
“Go.”
Snap!
At the single command, the spears erupted forward like predators that had finally locked onto prey.
They shot out with terrifying speed, far beyond what ordinary perception could follow.
Bang. Bang. Bang. BOOOOM!
The spears collided with Z5’s position, detonating with such overwhelming force that a violent shockwave blasted outward.
Trees bent sharply, trunks groaning as the wind screamed past them.
Grey’s robes fluttered violently, crimson hair whipping around his face as the explosion swallowed the area.
Where Z5 had been standing, a massive crater formed. The forest was erased within a ten metre radius, reduced to splinters and scorched earth.
“Hpmh.” Grey clicked his tongue while staring ahead.
‘He escaped through another portal,’ he noted silently as the spatial constructs he summoned began fading away.
‘No problem. I know what to do…’
His thoughts were abruptly cut off as instinct screamed.
Grey twisted sharply, eyes snapping upward.
Z5 materialized above him.
A wind spear screamed downward, aimed directly at the Supreme Magus’ skull.
Grey showed no panic. No hesitation.
From beneath his boots, an earth wall surged upward, intercepting the strike.
BOOM!
The impact rattled the mountain beneath him. The ground trembled violently, yet Grey remained steady, gaze cold and focused.
A shadow portal bloomed behind him. A dark blade burst out, streaking forward at lethal velocity.
“I have to commend you though,” Grey said calmly.
He vanished.
The shadow sword smashed uselessly into the terrain as Grey reappeared in the sky, eyes locked onto Z5 below.
“You are persistent, even after realizing I stand far beyond you.”
Z5 snarled, teeth grinding audibly.
“You awakened a special affinity? So what? I am a seven star mage!”
“And yet,” Grey replied evenly, “a four star mage keeps dismantling you.”
“Shut up!” Z5 roared.
A shadow portal opened behind him as he prepared to retreat.
Grey extended his hand.
An ash portal appeared beneath Z5’s feet.
Panic flashed across Z5’s face as his own portal tried to swallow him first. His body slipped through, leaving only his legs behind.
Snap!
Grey clenched his fist.
The portal snapped shut.
Z5 screamed as both legs were severed cleanly, blood spraying across the ground as his body vanished completely.
“No use hiding,” Grey said coldly. “I will drag you out.”
“Spatial Magic: Dimensional Slash.”
He sliced the air.
Space ruptured.
Z5 was violently ejected, hurled outward by sheer force, tears streaming down his face from the agony.
Wind hastily wrapped around his ruined body, suspending him midair as blood poured freely.
At that moment, movement stirred at the forest edge.
Noir burst into the clearing with Clarice seated atop his back.
Grey hovered in the sky. Z5 dangled helplessly.
“Looks like we made it,” Noir said with a crooked grin.
Clarice climbed down slowly, eyes fixed on the scene before her.
“Thankfully,” Noir added, “we did not miss the climax.”
“I could easily kill you right at this moment, but I want you to feel pain, torture until you beg me for a swift death.”
Grey declared as tears streamed endlessly down his own face.
These tears were not normal. They were crimson, thick like blood, spilling continuously from his eyes as rage consumed him completely.
“I will not buckle nor yield! You must die!” Z5 thundered into the air.
A hundred wind spears burst into existence at once, screaming forward at blistering velocity, ripping through the air toward Grey.
With a casual wave of his hand, a portal yawned open before him and swallowed the spears whole as if they never existed.
Z5 froze midair, pupils shrinking in realization.
‘I… is this how he avoided my six hundred arrows earlier?’
“Here,” Grey said calmly, lips curling upward, “eat your own food.”
Behind Z5, a portal tore open and the same spears erupted outward, racing toward him from behind.
A shadow portal twisted beneath Z5 as he attempted to sink into it desperately.
“No you do not.”
“Spatial Magic. Dimensional Lock.”
Grey clenched his fist.
A sharp sound rang out, like brittle glass shattering, and the shadow portal flickered violently before collapsing into nothingness.
Panic surged through Z5.
He tried again.
And again.
But no escape answered his call.
The wind spears struck.
They pierced clean through his body, blood erupting from his mouth as his breathing became jagged and broken. Crimson droplets rained from the sky while Clarice watched silently, fists clenched.
“This,” Grey said, flicking his wrist.
The ground erupted.
A massive earth slab burst upward and smashed into Z5’s face, forcing blood to spray violently.
“Is for my mother your brother murdered. He is dead, yet my fury remains.”
Another slab surged from the opposite direction, crashing into Z5’s jaw. Teeth flew free as his breathing worsened, choking and uneven.
The white glow within his eyes began to dim. His floating hair fell limply against his shoulders.
“This is for Millie,” Grey continued coldly. “And this is for Vanessa!”
A lightning arrow formed instantly and slammed into Z5’s eyes.
Z5 screamed, head jerking violently as searing electricity ravaged his vision. Blood streamed freely down his cheeks as his cries echoed through the clearing.
“This,” Grey roared, voice shaking the air itself, “is for thinking you could kill me!”
Wind blades materialized without warning.
Z5 felt the pressure shift.
His heart lurched as terror seized him, unable to predict when the attack would fall.
It struck without mercy.
The blades tore through his body, wounds blossoming instantly across his flesh.
More lightning arrows followed, impaling his shoulder, the stump where his arm once existed, the torn remains of his legs.
Electricity invaded him from the inside, scorching nerves and blood alike. He could feel himself drying up, vitality evaporating rapidly.
His screams weakened as the assault finally ceased.
Grey said nothing.
He let Z5’s agonized cries fill the air until his breathing grew shallow.
Then a voice whispered beside his ear.
“Time for one last scream.”
Z5 felt a hand rest atop his head.
The next instant, a roar erupted from his throat, so loud it caused the air itself to tremble violently.
Before Clarice and Noir’s eyes, Z5 began withering.
His skin paled, wrinkling rapidly. His hair turned white at frightening speed. His body convulsed midair as torment shattered his mind completely.
“Please… please… just kill me,” he sobbed brokenly. “End it. This is too much. Grey, kill me already! ARGHHHH!”
Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as his screams faded into desperate sobs.
What was Grey doing? He was siphoning the life force out of Z5’s body, draining everything including all the mana the man had cultivated throughout his entire existence.
All of it was being absorbed into Grey’s body, flowing into him relentlessly while Z5 continued drying up, screaming and begging desperately for his life.
Seeing this unfold, a memory surged violently into Clarice’s mind.
She remembered that moment clearly. The moment she believed death was inevitable.
She remembered placing a curse upon Z5 with every ounce of hatred and despair she possessed.
«You are a monster, and I hope karma hunts you down. I pray you die a horrible death. You will be tortured mentally and physically until you scream for death at the top of your lungs.»
«You will never receive it. You will be torn limb from limb. You will suffocate. Your bodily functions will fail one by one, yet you still will not die.»
«Only after every drop of blood in your body has been drained will death be granted to you. That is my curse upon you, monster.»
Right before her eyes, the curse was manifesting perfectly.
Z5 had been torn apart, his limbs destroyed. His mind was breaking.
His body was being ravaged physically and mentally as he begged loudly for death, screaming until his voice grew hoarse and cracked painfully.
After a minute that felt endless, Grey finally stopped.
Z5’s shriveled body slipped from the air, drifting downward like a lifeless leaf carried by the wind.
Then, from above, a massive earth sword materialized.
It descended violently.
The blade struck Z5’s pale neck cleanly, slicing through with brutal finality.
His body and severed head crashed into the ground with heavy thuds, rolling across the fractured earth before coming to a stop.
Grey remained floating alone in the sky.
His breathing was ragged, chest heaving as he stared downward in silence.
“He… he… he did it?” Clarice cried out, voice shaking violently. “He took revenge for Millie and Vanessa!”
Her words broke as tears poured freely from her eyes.
Her knees gave out and she collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably in gratitude.
Grey hovered above, staring blankly at his hands.
Clarice’s shout reached him, pulling his attention as he slowly turned toward her.
He opened his mouth, intending to speak.
Pain exploded through him.
His body convulsed violently.
His eyes bulged as thick tears of blood poured out in waves. Every muscle spasmed as his entire frame shuddered uncontrollably.
“ARGHHHH!”
His roar shook the skies.
Clarice snapped her head upward just in time to see Grey plummeting from the air, his body twitching violently as blood streamed from him.
“Grey!” she screamed in horror.
Just before he could crash into the ground, an ashen portal spiraled open beneath him. His body fell straight into it, vanishing instantly.
The portal snapped shut.
Clarice and Noir were left behind, frozen in shock.
