Magus Supremacy - Chapter 684
Chapter 684: I don’t do weirdos
CHAPTER 684
Back at the Cromwell’s residence, arrows now streaked toward Noir, dozens upon dozens of them, accompanied by earth and fire projectiles screaming relentlessly toward the familiar, who remained remarkably calm despite the chaos.
Shockingly, Noir did not flinch or move away. He simply stood in place, eyes fixed on the incoming onslaught, unbothered. Normally, he would have blitzed to safety in an instant, leaving the battlefield behind, but this time he remained perfectly still until…
Crash, Crash! Boom!
The projectiles collided with him violently, exploding outward with tremendous force, yet something extraordinary happened.
The attacks passed through the familiar as if he were nonexistent, the arrows and rocks smashing into the ground beneath him, kicking up dust that barely obscured vision.
Before the eyes of every onlooker, Noir began warping and twisting, his body folding and contorting as if he were made of paper. Then, as if by magic, he vanished completely from sight, leaving nothing but empty space.
“Dumbass.”
The familiar’s voice echoed directly into their minds, and in the next instant, he materialized right in their midst, standing as if he had always been there. Part of his extraordinary abilities involved creating illusions, projecting a false image where he had been standing, allowing the projectiles to fly past him harmlessly.
While the men were distracted, he seamlessly infiltrated their ranks. The beasts were unable to detect him, their focus entirely on the frontlines, leaving the familiar almost invisible as he crept through the human ranks.
Then, with a sudden surge, his size increased drastically. He now stood as tall and imposing as a house, towering over everyone around him.
In an instant, his massive paws swiped at one of the warriors, tearing his head clean from his body. Spinning with astonishing speed, the familiar smashed his other paw into the chest of another, slamming him forcefully into the ground.
“AHHHH!”
A man screamed as he swung his weapon at the beast, but Noir zipped aside effortlessly. A blazing fireball erupted from him, consuming the man instantly and reducing him to ash.
Four beasts charged at full force, their hooved feet striking the ground like thunder. When they were mere feet away, they leapt into the air, roaring in unison, paws raised high and aimed to crush the familiar.
Buzz!
Two crimson beams shot from his horns, tearing gaping holes through the heads of two beasts, sending their bodies crashing down with heavy thuds.
The remaining two beasts slammed their fists into Noir’s body, forcing him backward, his paws digging trenches into the earth. He snarled, his rage palpable, as more beasts pivoted and charged, while the mages twirled in a panic, arrows and earth projectiles streaking through the air.
As always, Noir remained unshaken. Leaning forward, claws dug into the ground, and then like a bullet, he propelled himself forward with blinding speed. Whooshing past the beasts, he leapt high into the air.
While airborne, the familiar rapidly shrank in size, becoming a blur of motion, dancing and leaping seamlessly from one earth spear to another, evading attacks with incredible precision.
Twisting and turning his body, Noir avoided the remaining arrows and attacks with unmatched agility. His speed was blinding, as fireballs erupted from his jaws and laser beams shot from his horns, raining down like divine comets upon the enemies.
The men could neither flee nor hide, as they were either split in two, incinerated into ash, or crushed under the sheer force of the familiar’s assault. The ground was not spared either. Dents, scorch marks, and cracked patches marred the once-pristine terrain, evidence of the devastating chaos unleashed by the wolf.
Propelling off an earth spear, Noir twirled in midair, tail lashing behind him as he locked eyes with a massive beast crouched and ready to spring.
GROWL!
Both emitted ferocious roars of animosity as they bolted toward each other. The beast’s massive paw swished past Noir’s face, rattling his fur violently. Twisting his compact body, the pup drove into the creature, and together they plummeted from the sky, crashing down with tremendous force. A deep hollow formed in the earth beneath their landing.
Noir refused to relent, pinning the beast under his weight. From point-blank range, a fireball shot from his jaws, burning through the creature’s skull and leaving it lifeless in an instant.
Just as he prepared to move on, something streaked through the air. Spinning around, he readied himself to confront the threat, but it was merely an arrow—a false alarm. This slight distraction allowed another beast to seize the opportunity it needed.
It lunged forward, tackling Noir to the ground. They tumbled violently, the small pup pinned beneath the enormous creature. Though he resembled a tiny wolf beneath a bear-sized beast, it did not matter. The hybrid monster forced him down with unyielding strength.
“Help! I’m about to be violated right here!”
The familiar shouted into the minds of the humans as the beast lifted one of its massive paws, smashing it into Noir’s face with the power of a charging bull. His fur ruffled, saliva spewing from his mouth.
His head slammed into the ground repeatedly, cracks radiating outward with every hit, yet Noir gritted his teeth, refusing to give in. Then, like a rabid predator, the hybrid beast clamped onto Noir’s head, jaws opening wide as it charged forward, intending to crush his skull.
“Help again! I’m about to get kissed by a weirdo. Oh, my dignity.”
Just as the creature’s face drew terrifyingly close, a taunting smirk crossed Noir’s face. His horns flared, glowing bright red.
Buzz!
A pair of crimson beams erupted, tearing through the beast’s skull and leaving a gaping hole. Its body slid off Noir, freeing him to rise with a triumphant grin.
“Just so you know, I don’t do weirdos.”
Clicking his tongue, the familiar turned toward the remaining humans, whose numbers had dwindled below three hundred. Eyes wide with fear, they stared at the towering wolf as he shook his body like a triumphant dog.
‘Time for a mass cleanup.’
