Magus Supremacy - Chapter 683
Chapter 683: The Tide has begun to change?
CHAPTER 683
BANG!
The wind drill tore forward spinning violently, gathering even more momentum from the surrounding gusts, boosting its velocity as it closed the final metre towards Z5, who smirked arrogantly.
“Fool.”
In a flash, a shadow portal appeared directly behind him, ready to swallow him whole, until…
“Folding.”
That single word from Grey sent shivers down Z5’s spine, his eyes bulging so hard it seemed like they might pop from their sockets.
The drill, barely a metre from impact, suddenly closed the distance in an instant.
WAM!
The spinning vortex collided with Z5 with the force of two battering rams. Blood splashed from his mouth as his body shot through his shadow portal, vanishing entirely while the wind hummed gently around the mountaintop.
Grey’s robes fluttered softly in the breeze as he surveyed the empty sky. His face still dripped blood from earlier injuries, his chest bleeding as well, though he was attempting to staunch it with precise control of his Ki.
“You know,” he uttered with a tired exhale, lifting a bloodied finger.
He smeared the crimson across his face, a thin streak glinting in the sunlight, a wicked grin slowly spreading across his lips.
“I can sense your presence.”
With a flick of his wrist, the blood shot through the air, striking a precise spot.
“Space sever.”
It felt as though a crack tore through the fabric of reality itself as Z5 was violently ejected from his shadow world, stumbling forward helplessly.
Before he could recover, Grey materialized directly in front of him, the blink of an eye all it took. His grin widened to almost terrifying proportions as he slammed his fist into Z5’s face.
His knuckles cracked sharply against the hardened mask covering Z5’s features. Pain shot through Grey’s hand, but it was nothing he couldn’t endure.
A deep fissure split the mask as Z5’s body was hurled through the air at blinding speed. He attempted to steady himself, manipulating the wind around him, but Grey wasn’t about to allow any reprieve.
Lightning crackled, coalescing into two arrow-like constructs in Grey’s hands.
He slammed his foot against the air, propelling himself forward at an insane velocity. Z5’s eyes widened as Grey materialized once more, this time mere metres away.
“Get away from me!” the mage bellowed as a wind spear descended from the sky with deadly intent.
Grey smirked, vanishing from sight just in time, leaving the spear to crash violently into the mountain, gouging deep into the rocky surface.
SWOOOSH!
He reappeared behind Z5 without hesitation, driving one of the lightning arrows into his shoulder blade.
“ARGHHHH!” Z5 roared in agony, lightning surging through his body like a raging storm.
Gritting his teeth, he spun, summoning a wind sword in his hand to cleave Grey in two.
But the Supreme Magus had already vanished again, leaving the blade to strike only empty air.
From there, the assault became relentless. Grey blinked in and out of sight around Z5, his hands weaving lightning constructs with surgical precision.
Each strike targeted a different part of Z5’s body, tearing through his robes and striking with pinpoint accuracy.
Lightning spears ripped through his back, his shoulder, his thigh, and his chest, leaving him screaming and staggered.
Grey’s attacks were perfectly calibrated—deep enough to inflict excruciating pain, but never fatal.
After several moments, Grey sprang back, landing a few metres away with a wide, chilling grin.
He stared at Z5, huffing and panting, his body slick with blood that trickled down to the mountaintop below.
The mage’s breaths came in ragged gasps, his body battered and broken, his teeth grinding from the relentless agony.
His mask cracked terribly, one strike away from shattering completely, exposing the vulnerability that Grey had methodically carved into him.
His gaze hardened, chest hammering loudly with every beat. Not from fear, but from pure hatred, seething anger, and unrestrained rage.
‘H…how?! How? How? How can a puny little child like him inflict this much damage on me? How in the hell? I’m a disgrace to the organisation, unworthy of my rank, undeserving of my position in the association! Damn it! I have failed the devil himself.’
“Perfecto.” Grey clicked his tongue, nodding in satisfaction as he studied the mage’s meticulously damaged form.
“Thi… this… this is totally unacceptable!” Z5 bellowed into the air, his aura spilling out in violent, undulating waves.
The atmosphere thickened around him, swirling furiously as his eyes glowed a scorching white.
His hair lifted above his shoulders, robes fluttering violently in the wind, body radiating a soft, blinding light.
With one final, earth-shattering roar, a gust of wind erupted outward, shaking even Grey’s limbs despite his control, as the man ground his teeth repeatedly.
‘Hpmh! He has broken through. A mage’s powerup.’
“I will make you pay, you little brat!”
A deafening, clamorous bang echoed as Z5 lunged forward at lightning speed, fast enough to widen Grey’s eyes in momentary shock.
“Shoot.”
BAM!
An uppercut collided violently with Grey’s jaw, his teeth smashing together as his body rocketed skyward uncontrollably for a fleeting second.
He struggled to regain control of his momentum, but the sheer force kept propelling him upward.
“Die, die, die! DIE!” Z5 screamed like a man possessed, and with each roar, massive wind swords descended from the sky, slicing toward the airborne mage.
The whipping wind twisted around Grey’s body, aiding his evasive maneuvers as he darted left and right at dizzying speed.
Yet the relentless swords continued, striking with precision, gradually closing in.
One barely missed, slicing his cheek and drawing blood.
Another slammed into his shoulder with tremendous force, nearly sending him plummeting back down, though sheer determination kept him upright.
While Grey battled against the overwhelming storm, Z5 vanished into a shadow portal, reappearing directly above him with his hand poised menacingly.
“Aerius Ultrasonic!”
KA-BOOOM!
The sonic boom rang out, echoing across the mountaintop as an enormous gust of wind shot downward. Grey’s heart skipped a beat, dread filling his chest.
Before he could even react, the attack struck him like a speeding bullet train. Blood erupted from his mouth in waves as he was violently propelled downward.
In the blink of an eye, his body collided with the mountain. The crushing impact sent him burrowing through the rocky surface, vanishing into the unknown depths.
“I’m not done with you!” Z5 roared, and all around him, six hundred wind arrows spun into existence like a devastating cyclone.
They screamed downward, homing in on Grey’s battered form buried deep within the mountain.
With this exchange, it became evident: the tides of battle had begun to shift, the momentum slowly tipping against the Supreme Magus.
