Magus Supremacy - Chapter 681
Chapter 681: Noir’s Speed!
CHAPTER 681
Back at the Cromwell’s residence where hundreds of humans and beasts were gathered, Noir had just revealed himself in all his terrifying glory.
A massive fireball shot out from his jaws at tremendous speed, causing the humans in front to panic.
They reacted quickly, summoning an earth wall to shield themselves, but the moment the fireball struck the barrier, it began disintegrating almost instantly.
In a flash, the wall shattered into an explosion of jagged rocks and dust, scattering debris in every direction.
The mages behind the wall staggered backwards, eyes wide in shock and confusion, only to lock onto the wolf’s devilish gaze glaring directly at them. Right there and then, something crackled from his twisted horns.
A pair of concentrated laser beams tore through the air, faster than lightning and far quicker than the humans could react.
The beams wasted no time decimating a hundred mages in front, splitting their bodies in two midair.
The remaining attackers froze, their hearts pounding violently as the scene unfolded before them.
“Damn you furry beasts, attack!” a mage shouted angrily, trying to regain some semblance of control.
At his command, the beasts bolted forward as if compelled by instinct alone. These creatures were bizarre hybrids, terrifying in appearance.
Their torsos from the waist down resembled a horse, four sturdy legs ending in hooves, a long swishing tail, and a brown pelt resembling a powerful steed.
From the waist up, however, they were a terrifying vision: massive bear-like chests covered in thick brown fur, two enormous claws, piercing brown eyes, and twisted horns spiraling from their heads.
There were approximately two hundred of these monsters, all charging at Noir with incredible speed.
“You lowlife fools, don’t even know who you are messing with,” Noir growled, smirking as two of the beasts leapt into the air, their massive paws curling into fists to smash down on him.
At that exact moment, Noir vanished like smoke, leaving nothing behind. The beasts ploughed into the earth, fists smashing the ground with deafening tremors. Dust erupted in waves, obscuring their vision completely.
Growling in frustration, the creatures looked around wildly, seeking the wolf.
Buzz!
In a flash, twin beams of red energy sliced through the dust, cutting one of the beasts clean in half before it could react. Its divided body hit the ground with a heavy thud.
Once the dust settled, the scene became pure carnage. Noir zipped across the battlefield with blinding speed, striking from one area to another with flawless precision.
The beasts fell rapidly, unable to even land a single hit on the agile familiar. It was like witnessing pure light flickering uncontrollably, a blur of destruction that left the army bewildered and terrified.
Growl!
The remaining beasts could only let out desperate roars as they were repeatedly outmaneuvered.
One attempted to strike Noir with a massive paw, but he leapt back effortlessly.
Another fireball screamed toward him, and with a swift sidestep, he dodged it entirely, letting the attack crash into the ground, scorching it.
That momentary maneuver allowed one of the beasts to come crashing down from above, hands raised high, preparing to smash him into the dirt.
Noir twisted his head, frowning, and with a burst of unmatched speed, darted out of the way, letting the creature collide violently with the earth.
Before Noir could regain his stance, a slow-moving spear was hurled in his direction. A low growl escaped his jaws as he shrank rapidly, dropping down to pup-sized proportions.
The spear zipped harmlessly over his head, missing him entirely as he prepared to counterattack.
The battlefield was chaos incarnate, with the red-furred wolf dancing through destruction like a force of nature, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.
Like a bolt of lightning, the familiar dashed forward and within seconds, leaped into the air with full force, hovering above the spear wielder for a brief moment.
Before the man could reposition himself, the familiar suddenly increased in size and, in a flash, collided with the attacker.
The sheer weight and impact of the crash were enough to pulverize the man into a bloody pulp as a loud bang echoed across the battlefield.
A deep crevice suddenly tore open in the ground beneath them. Earth spears erupted violently, shooting toward the familiar.
In a split second, Noir shrank back to his smaller form and zipped through the oncoming projectiles, weaving in a blur of motion.
The earth spears slammed into the ground with immense force, sending clouds of dust and debris scattering across the field.
Buzz!
Another laser beam erupted from Noir’s horns, slicing a mage in two from down below in a display of brutal precision.
A beast appeared directly beside him so quickly that he could not react in time. Its massive paws smashed into Noir’s small body with incredible force, lifting the familiar into the air and hurtling him across the battlefield.
He crashed and tumbled through the rubble of the Cromwell residence, smashing through walls and leaving a jagged hole in the debris before shooting out the other side. Noir rolled across the ground, claws scraping the dirt as he tried to regain his stance.
Before he could rise fully, twenty-eight earth spears screamed down from above, striking toward his small husky form with frightening speed. Noir’s fangs clenched in restrained fury as he rolled across the ground, pushing himself off with a burst of strength.
In the blink of an eye, he lunged away from the attacks, letting them slam into the earth with thunderous force, shaking the ground beneath him violently.
Even Clarice, who watched from the small house off to the side, was unable to stop the ache in her chest.
The bodies of her students, as well as the ones her husband had taught, lay massacred around her. The grief was suffocating, but all she could do was hope that Grey would exact his revenge.
Suddenly, she realized the mage had vanished alongside Z5, leaving Noir to handle the army outside alone. She perched at the window, eyes tracking every sequence, every movement, rooting silently for Noir to emerge victorious.
Sliding a few metres away from the remnants of the army, Noir began increasing in size again.
A deep frown crept across his furry face as he glared at the dwindling opposition. From over five hundred strong, their numbers had already fallen to less than four hundred in mere minutes.
“That’s him there! Attack!”
SWOOOSH, SWOOOSH!
Arrows now flew toward Noir, dozens upon dozens of them, accompanied by earth and fire projectiles screaming in his direction. Yet the familiar remained unnervingly calm, poised and ready to face every assault with lethal precision.
