Magus Supremacy - Chapter 680
Chapter 680: Fifth Affinity Awakened!
CHAPTER 680
POOF!
Grey and Z5 appeared in the sky, hovering above a massive mountain.
This mountain was the very one Yami used to take him to every morning for training.
The same place where he had been battered, drenched in sweat, and pushed to his absolute limits every single day just to learn how to defend and protect himself using Ki after losing his magical memories.
The same mountain one would descend to reach the main town.
From there, it was a ten- to twenty-minute walk, depending on pace, back to the Cromwell residence, where Grey had just unleashed his tornadoes.
“How the hell did we get here? Yo…you teleported us? But how?” Z5 shouted in shock, leaping back—still suspended in the air to give himself some space.
Grey did not respond.
He simply whipped his hand backward, and a ball of lightning began gathering around it at an insane pace.
It was clear. Grey was about to let his magic and fists do the talking.
BANG!
He forcefully kicked the air as if he bore a personal grudge against it.
The atmosphere caved in for a moment as it propelled the Supreme Magus forward at an insane velocity, leaving Z5 momentarily stunned.
But as a 7-star mage, Z5 could handle immense pressure.
Still, Grey blinked in front of him with blinding speed.
His palm jabbed forward, and the ball of lightning surged forth like a beam of pure light. It came inches from Z5, poised to strike.
Just then, a shadow portal appeared directly behind Z5, and he vanished into it at the perfect instant.
The lightning collided with the air, splitting it forcefully in half.
Grey’s ears twitched.
He spun around at the speed of light just as a massive wind sword shot toward him at astonishing velocity, the same speed he had demonstrated moments ago.
Swinging his hand upward, a colossal earth wall erupted from the ground, shielding him.
THUNK!
The sword slammed into the wall, sending a gust of wind rippling outward while the elemental weapon twisted and spun, struggling to tear through the barrier.
It succeeded!
The wall shattered, rocks raining down like snowflakes.
Yet the sword crashed through the air with a loud bang before dispersing in a woosh.
Grey vanished briefly from view.
“I want to make you pay so badly, I want to kill you in an instant. But no, I won’t—not that I can’t!”
The Supreme Magus’ voice echoed across the area, seemingly emanating from every corner of the world.
But that was an illusion. He was teleporting at unimaginable speed, his voice following him:
“I want to make you suffer, and right now, I am devising ways to do exactly that.”
“Then face me head-on instead of darting around like a coward!” Z5 countered furiously.
“Gladly.”
The voice, a low whisper, came from directly behind him.
Whirling around, shadows clung to Z5’s arms as he crossed them in front of his body just in time to block a literal electrifying punch, delivered with the force of a battering ram.
BANG!
The air behind Z5 exploded outward. He held his position as the world seemed to freeze for a moment, only to be blasted backward with immense force.
Before he could be sent too far, a shadow portal materialized behind him, consuming him entirely as Grey twisted and turned, scanning for his target.
“I was confused for a moment about how you managed to blink me here so fast,”
The voice came from behind Grey, and without turning around, he snapped his fingers, summoning a colossal lightning bolt that shot from the sky toward the space behind him.
Unfortunately, it struck nobody, instead smashing into the mountaintop and tearing a massive cavity into it with a deafening bang.
“But I think I understand now. You have awakened your fifth affinity, haven’t you? Now I wonder what it truly is.”
“Quit yapping and show yourself!” Grey bellowed, holding his hands apart.
Ki flared around his fingers and palms, wind coiling and spiraling around them, and then…
CLAP!
KA-BOOOM!
A humongous gust of wind blasted outward with such violence that the atmosphere shuddered for several seconds. Z5’s portal opened at precisely the wrong moment for him.
The violent wind struck him while the portal was forcibly disrupted, sending his body hurtling backward through the air for a few meters.
Until he clapped his hands, stabilizing the wind around him and halting his body mid-flight.
“Gotcha.”
Grey grinned, lightning arcing across his feet, and then, like an arrow shot through the night sky, he zipped forward.
Neither the air nor the wind barriers could impede him. He moved with blinding speed, materializing directly in front of the mage, nearly taking him by surprise.
Not until a confident smirk curled across the man’s face.
This made Grey’s skin prickle as he quickly glanced upward, only to see five hundred wind arrows screaming toward him at astonishing velocity.
“See ya.”
Z5 smirked, vanishing into one of his portals again, leaving Grey suspended in the air as the arrows hurtled toward him.
“You’re right,” Grey spoke aloud, a confident grin spreading across his face as he watched the projectiles streak toward him at terrifying speed.
“I have indeed awakened my fifth affinity at the most critical time. After years of waiting and patience, it has finally manifested. Thanks to you, in fact.”
As he spoke, the arrows neared their target. His eyes crackled with lightning as he began weaving between them effortlessly.
His gaze fixed on a single point, hands tucked into his pockets, he floated upright, dancing gracefully among the wind projectiles.
He blurred through them one after another with astonishing precision.
An arrow shot toward his head, but a sharp tilt of his neck allowed it to nick his hair, screaming downward before crashing into the ground with clamorous bangs.
He continued weaving between them like a living shadow. Mid-dance, Z5 reappeared, his grin widening beneath the mask.
His fist rocketed forward with blazing speed.
“Lucky for me, but unfortunate for you, I have awakened a terrifyingly unique affinity.”
He whispered, raising his hand.
With a flick of his wrist, he muttered:
“Space sever.”
Time seemed to pause at the words that flowed from his mouth.
The next instant, Z5’s outstretched hand, thrust forward for a punch, vanished completely.
Not cut, not destroyed, not split in two, no blood—simply gone.
Deleted from existence, leaving him with only a single hand remaining.
