Chapter 677: Can You Handle Me?
CHAPTER 677

“Welcome back, Grey.”

A soft smile slowly crept across Grey’s face, a complex expression that carried the weight of pain, lingering trauma, and the faintest trace of joy.

“Thank you, Noir.”

A bright, pulsating light began materializing directly beside Grey, and within a few seconds, it dimmed just enough to reveal a ferocious-looking wolf.

Its size reminded him of a puppy from long ago, yet the aura it emitted was far from innocent.

Its fur gleamed a vivid crimson, like molten blood freshly poured.

A set of sharp fangs protruded from its snout, curling slightly as if mocking in a subtle smirk. From its forehead, a small, sharp horn jutted outward, vibrating in sync with the wolf’s tense posture.

“Been a long time since I came out.”

Grey turned slowly, his eyes softening as they met Noir’s gaze. A flicker of warmth, even amusement, danced in his brown eyes.

“And you still look the same as before, pup.”

Noir inclined his head slightly toward Grey, something like a frown forming along his sharp features.

“You are still as irritating as ever. I preferred you when your memories were gone.”

Z5 froze, his eyes widening behind the eerie mask as he stared at the wolf. His mouth hung open, disbelief plain.

“Wait! Noir?! One of the four Great Familiar Kings?! Is he… Your familiar?”

Grey arched an eyebrow in mild confusion.

“Huh?”

“Hpmh.” Noir huffed, the sound echoing directly into Z5’s mind, carrying a faintly mocking tone.

Glancing forward, Grey’s gaze landed on Clarice, still suspended in midair, bound tightly by shadowy hands.

“Noir,” he called out.

“On it.”

ZIP, ZIP!

A streak of vivid red darted across the space, too fast for any mortal to follow.

Even Grey struggled to track the movement. In a blink, Noir appeared beside the mage, his jaws gently holding Clarice, as if carrying a fragile treasure.

Crouching carefully, Grey stretched out his trembling hand toward the woman. Clarice slowly brushed his knuckles with her fingers, warmth and relief passing through her gaze.

“Are… are you okay?” His voice quivered, his tone laden with vulnerability.

Clarice nodded firmly, a soft, reassuring smile gracing her lips, though her chest tightened as memories of her lost girls threatened to overwhelm her.

“You shouldn’t be crying. You’re a man, aren’t you?” she teased gently, letting out a faint chuckle as she wiped away the moisture from his eyes.

Grey returned the smile and kissed her palm with reverence.

“I won’t cry.”

Rising, his expression hardened into a glare directed at Z5 hovering above.

“But someone will definitely cry.”

Noir tilted his head and smirked, a wolfish grin that conveyed both amusement and approval.

“Yeah, boy. The Supreme Magus is officially back—and cocky as ever.”

Grey did not respond immediately.

He stepped forward with measured precision.

Step. Another step. One more step.

Then a pause.

He jerked his head upward, fixing Z5 with a piercing stare.

The otherworlder remained composed on the surface, though subtle signs of panic flickered beneath his mask.

“You know, I didn’t meddle with your organization. I was focused on myself, doing what I knew best.” Grey’s voice carried an intensity that shook the air around them.

“Protecting those I cared about from harm. But your cursed organization couldn’t leave it alone, could it? You killed my mother, ripped me from my world, tore me away from my friends, my squad members, and brought me to this place.

I tried to forge a new life, memories erased, identity wiped clean. But you, the otherworlders, tracked me down, took Millie and Vanessa, and now, you were about to snatch another mother from me?!”

His fists clenched so tightly that the veins along his forearms bulged.

His eyes blazed, red-hot with fury, reflecting the unrelenting fire of vengeance that now coursed through him.

His voice was far from calm; with each passing second, it rose in volume, vibrating with rage.

His blood seethed, hands tightly clenched, and even the wind around him seemed to howl in response to his fury.

Every leaf, every particle of dust, trembled as if the world itself recognized the boiling anger emanating from the Supreme Magus.

Upper Zodiac 5 remained silent for a brief moment, the wind softening around him, before a low chuckle escaped his throat.

“All I’m here for is to avenge my brother’s death. Those who perished, did so because of their proximity to you.”

Grey paused, his fingers flexing so tightly that his knuckles whitened instantly, veins standing out like cords of iron.

“Your damned, blasted brother killed my mother! How can you be so hypocritical? You killed her, and now you were about to kill me?! I had no choice but to end him!”

“And your mother died because of your reckless foolishness. If you had simply accepted our offer to join us, she would still be alive!” Z5 bellowed, his own anger intensifying the howling wind around him.

It felt as though the entire world paused, watching the verbal clash of titans.

‘He… he has suffered so much.’ Clarice mused inwardly, melancholy shading her thoughts.

“My brother was merely completing the assignment he was given, and I am here to finish it.

Outside, a vast army of men and beasts awaits. Even with your blasted memories restored, you are still no match for me.”

Grey did not respond immediately.

He lowered his head, feeling the gentle hum of his core resonate.

Without fully meditating, he sensed the subtle transformation within his sea soul—something had irrevocably changed.

“You’re wrong,” Grey whispered, the words ringing like divine judgement.

He lifted his head, his eyes blazing a brilliant, almost blinding white.

His hair lifted and floated above his shoulders as if charged by some unseen force, and he extended his hands outward.

The air around him roared, swirling violently, lifting him as though he were a god ascending above the mortal plane.

The red aura surrounding his body flared with increasing intensity, each pulse radiating raw energy.

In an instant, the glow expanded outward, engulfing the surrounding space, rising like a furious storm.

What had been a tight, clinging red aura now extended into a towering sphere of flames, a fiery manifestation of his mana skin, though unlike any conventional form seen before.

“The right question is…”

Rumble, Rumble!

Z5, Noir, and Clarice instinctively glanced upward, their eyes widening as the clouded sky darkened ominously.

Lightning crackled like serpents coiling, weaving across the heavens with a predatory intelligence, waiting to strike with divine wrath.

“Can you handle me?” Grey’s voice carried over the storm, unwavering and terrifying.

BAM!

The air shuddered violently.

The house quaked, the very walls trembling as colossal bolts of lightning descended from above like towering pillars of judgement.

Each strike incinerated everything in its path, reducing the structure to nothing but ash and rubble, the ground beneath cracking under the overwhelming energy.
