Magus Supremacy - Chapter 672
Chapter 672: Personal Agenda!
CHAPTER 672
“The Principal of Aetherian Academy.” Grey cut the man off.
“Correct. See, you do have a few brain cells.”
Grey did not reply instantly as his brows knitted tightly, his mind swirling with frantic thoughts while his gaze shifted across the ground.
‘Th…The Principal of Aetherian Academy is part of the twelve zodiacs? Since when? How? Why?
Does this mean the others are not safe? Wait. If he belongs to the Otherworlders organisation, then does that not mean our coup would be easily thwarted?
Depending on his rank among the twelve, combined with the fact that he is close to reaching god stage, this situation has grown far more complicated.’
Grey’s heart pounded along with his head, the pressure inside his skull intensifying as frustration gnawed at him. He clenched his teeth unconsciously, trying to steady his spiralling emotions.
Still, something was not adding up and he intended to uncover what it was.
“Tell me, what exactly is your endgame with all of this? Why are you attacking me? What is so fascinating about me that you gather such overwhelming forces to take me down?”
“Great question,” the masked man beamed from above.
“And I will answer them all because why not?” He chuckled lightly, his shoulders lifting in amusement.
“Our endgame huh? At the moment, our mission is to conquer every race, every planet, every world one after another. And in the process, we will cause bloodshed… forget that part, you do not need to know why.” He waved lazily, brushing the topic aside.
Grey lifted an eyebrow.
‘Huh? Cause bloodshed? For what purpose? Curses. He obviously will not explain.’
“And regarding why we are hunting you, let us simply say we have seen that you would be a hindrance to us.
Our attempts to spread carnage wherever we wish have repeatedly been obstructed by you. Even when we are not involved directly, you always manage to interfere with those who act in ways that benefit us.”
“Oh. Is that so?” Grey smirked playfully, his lips curling before he nodded slowly and added:
“If Orion truly noticed me, why did he not come himself? I can tell from your voice that you are not him, even though that mask desperately tries to conceal it.
So explain why you were sent here. And why bring so many forces?”
“The devil planned to send someone else actually, a lower ranked zodiac, but I refused. I volunteered to come down here personally to ensure you pay for what you did to me.
As for the many troops surrounding this place, they serve as a precaution. Because the last zodiac sent after you was killed. He was burnt alive by you and I refused to let that mistake repeat itself.”
Grey chuckled quietly.
“Oh wow, I am flattered.”
“So tell me, oh noble sir, what exactly did I take from you that made you leave your lofty position just to come down here and die?”
The man paused. His hands tightened, his fingers trembling slightly as his rage swelled. He stared intensely at Grey.
“What did you take from me huh?” he growled, his voice coated in venom.
“You destroyed the only relative I had.”
“Huh?” Grey uttered with raised brows.
“Yes. The zodiac who approached you to offer a choice to join us or perish, the same one who delivered our proposal, that zodiac was my younger brother. The only family I had left. And he was burnt alive by your hands.
You killed him, Grey Dawn. That is why I volunteered to come down here. Me, an upper zodiac five, a seven star mage. I came personally to ensure you suffer.”
The man raged, his furious voice echoing across the entire room and making the walls tremble violently.
Even the wind seemed to halt for a brief moment as everyone stared upward in stunned silence.
“If he died, it simply means he was weaker than me, right? And besides, aren’t you repeating the very mistake he made by coming down here to provoke me?”
“Cocky as always huh,” the man released a heavy sigh.
“Let me shatter that confidence immediately, so listen closely. Outside this house, around the building, across every corner of this entire region, there are more than five hundred men.
A complete mixture of mages and warriors. Then we have an additional force consisting of two hundred beasts, vicious and bloodthirsty creatures.
Your magic has already been disabled by those bracelets and the mage stationed outside.
You have me standing here, a seven star mage capable of ending your existence in a single heartbeat. So tell me, Grey Dawn, how exactly do you intend to survive?”
The man paused as a wide, almost triumphant smirk spread across his masked face before he added:
“Oh, and let us not forget that I plan to eliminate everyone close to you as payment. I will begin with these beautiful females down below. Then I will proceed back to your world and kill each of your friends.”
Silence!
A chilling, deathlike quiet engulfed the entire room as every single gaze fixed itself on Grey.
‘Gre…Grey. What and who exactly are you?’ Clarice wondered helplessly while watching Grey remain unmoving, completely rooted to his spot.
His brown eyes scanned the surroundings and through the massive openings in the ceiling, several figures dressed entirely in red zipped in at incredible speed.
Each member carried various weapons, and those without weapons moved confidently as if they did not require any.
One after another, they landed until a total of roughly sixty red-clad men stood firm, individuals Grey suspected were warriors.
Around seventy mages gathered throughout the place as well. Even more forces waited outside, but something about the crimson uniforms made Grey lift an eyebrow in confusion.
“Wait. Aren’t you people the terrorist organisation that attacked this faction some time ago? The Red Brigade?”
Upon hearing this, Clarice turned sharply toward the group. When she spotted the insignia on their attire, her eyes expanded in shock.
“You are right. They are indeed the ones. What this world failed to realise is that the Red Brigade belongs to the Otherworlders. That attack which occurred here was simply a test to gauge the strength of this world.
All Red Brigadiers are warriors, and they are commanded by another zodiac entirely. So Grey, how do you plan to manage without your magic?” the man asked again.
A smirk slowly curved across Grey’s face as he released a tired breath.
In the next moment, his pendant glowed brightly and materialised his sword into his waiting hand while a blue pill appeared in his other hand. He placed it on his tongue and swallowed it immediately.
“You are forgetting something,” he said, sliding into a battle ready stance while keeping his eyes locked on the numerous enemies.
“Before I ever discovered that I possessed magic, I trained in the use of Ki here. I was weak and helpless without my magic until I learned Ki.
So let us begin, shall we?”
“KILL HIM!”
“AHHHH!” Every warrior in the room exploded into motion, darting forward with tremendous speed while the females were forced to watch without being able to take a single step. Yet despite the terrifying scene, the Supreme Magus still wore a confident smirk.
