Chapter 671: CHAPTER 671
CHAPTER 671

Everybody in the room froze, hearts thumping loudly and collectively as they stared at the figure floating effortlessly in the air.

His robe fluttered violently with each subtle movement, the fabric brushing against itself in a loud, almost menacing sound as he hovered precisely over the hole in the ceiling that had been blasted open moments ago.

‘Grey Dawn? Dawn? Is that my family name? Who is this person? Do they know me?’ Grey pondered inwardly, his brows knitting tightly in confusion and suspicion.

He slowly rose upright, taking a measured breath, keeping his composure as his gaze shifted to the two thin bracelets tightly fastened around his wrists.

“Who are you all? What do you want from me?” he demanded, his voice steady yet laced with restrained intensity.

The man paused, his eyes twinkling beneath the mask as he surveyed the room… eventually settling on the young warrior mage below.

“Huh? I thought the mask would have made it obvious by now,”

Grey lifted an eyebrow in confusion.

“Mask? What mask? And why can’t I summon my magic?” he thundered, glaring down at his hands, flexing his fingers desperately.

No matter how hard he concentrated, not a spark of lightning appeared. Even the wind refused to answer his command, refusing to bend along his fingers.

The only solace was that his Ki remained unaffected; he could still gather it effortlessly, his breathing steady as he considered his options.

‘Huh? I thought he encountered a lower zodiac the other time and he wore a mask like mine. So why can’t he recall the mask?

Is it…’ the man’s eyes widened behind the mask.

In the next second, his expression darkened, teeth grinding together in restrained fury.

‘So he lost his memories? He doesn’t even recall what he did?’

A sigh escaped him, low and ominous.

This will be quick work.

The man’s lips twisted into a cold smirk before he turned his attention back to Grey.

“As long as those bracelets remain on your wrists, you will not be able to summon magic. There is a mage outside who is locked onto those bracelets, actively disabling your ability to conjure any spells,” he explained with a tone of finality.

Grey blinked once, his frown deepening.

“Then I will simply tear them off!” he growled, coiling his fingers tightly around the bracelet and tugging with immense force.

Zap!

A sudden jolt of electricity surged through his arms, coursing into his very core and lashing at his brain.

Grey yelped loudly, his wrist ablaze with burning pain as he stared in disbelief at the bracelets.

“Kek, Kek, Kek! Did I forget to mention that those are mythical-grade bracelets? You cannot simply pull them off. The harder you struggle, the more excruciating the pain becomes.

Soon enough, you could even die from it. Escape is impossible, and I will ensure you are buried here today for all you have done,” the masked figure said with chilling amusement.

Grey raised an eyebrow, incredulous.

“All I have done? What did I ever do to you? Why did you summon me here? Who the hell are you?!” he shouted, the tension in his voice vibrating with frustration and anger.

The man chuckled softly, his gaze sweeping across the room, landing on Vanessa lying on the ground.

Her ankle still bled from an earth shrapnel lodged deep within it.

Millie stood protectively a few metres in front of her sister as more mages surrounded them, their hands glowing ominously, ready to obliterate anyone who dared interfere.

Clarice struggled on the floor, huffing and gasping for breath as about a dozen mages towered above her, preparing to unleash devastating magic.

“It seems you have lost your memories,” the man observed, turning his attention back to Grey with a measured, almost predatory gaze.

“We are the Otherworlders, a powerful organisation that has struck fear into countless races. An organisation with roots in every corner of the universe, even reaching this pitiful world.

An organisation so feared that even the celestials dare not interfere. We are the same organisation that you—Grey Dawn refused to join when we offered you a place among us.”

Grey’s brows furrowed sharply as a sudden wave of headache slammed into him, pressure building behind his eyes.

Blurry images flashed in his mind: himself panting heavily, glaring at someone while his face was concealed behind a mask—the same mask that the ominous figure above now wore.

And the next second, the images stopped abruptly, fading as if they had never existed.

‘Do…he just called my family name, a name I had long forgotten? So does that mean they know who I am? Are they truly from my world?

If so, then is there a way I can capture him and extract information about my identity? Could that actually work? They seem to possess a few items, and maybe one of them could help me regain… wait a moment.’

His eyes widened in horror as he slowly lifted his head, the realization sinking in like a heavy stone in his chest.

“You…you said your organisation has roots in every corner of the universe, including this world? Is that how you found me? Wh…who betrayed me?!”

‘The letter that summoned me here was delivered by Gunther. I couldn’t even ask him where he obtained it or how it reached me. Could it be…? Did instructor Gunther betray me? Is he somehow connected to these people…’

“I suppose I can tell you,” the man sighed, his voice calm yet laced with dark amusement, snapping Grey out of his spiraling thoughts.

“Judging by the circumstances, you will soon meet your end anyway.”

“Huh?” Grey muttered, lifting his head to focus fully on the man, eyes narrowing.

“Do you know,” the man began, a smirk hidden behind the black mask,

“in our organisation, after our leader, there exists an entire hierarchy that functions as his lieutenants. We are called the twelve zodiacs.

After our leader, we are the next most powerful beings, and trust me, the higher our rank, the stronger and deadlier we become.

In this world alone, two zodiacs have been strategically placed, each occupying high positions that nobody would ever suspect or notice.”

The man paused, letting his words hang in the air as he studied Grey’s reaction carefully.

“You made a critical mistake by revealing your identity during the tournament because one of the twelve zodiacs spotted you then and immediately reported it to the central table.”

Grey froze, his mind reeling.

‘Revealed myself at the tournament? One of the twelve was there? But who could it have been? It definitely can’t be Gunther—he wasn’t even present during the event, so wh…’

“And his name is… Orion Stormvale.”

The name hit Grey like a sledgehammer to the chest. His eyes widened to near impossible limits, his heart hammering so violently it felt as though it would explode out of his ribcage.

“The…”

“The Principal of Aetherian Academy,” Grey cut the man off sharply, the words escaping his lips before he could contain himself.

Hearing this, Clarice’s eyes bulged, her mouth frozen in utter shock, unable to process the revelation that had just been thrown into her mind.
