Chapter 670: Magicless?
CHAPTER 670

“AHHHH!”

The roar from the hundred men was deafening, echoing violently as they surged in from all corners.

Clarice held up the rear, standing firmly in front of the children with her hands outstretched, Ki swirling in a protective aura around them. Meanwhile, Grey stood at the forefront, lightning crackling around his fingers like deadly serpents ready to strike.

“Screw you all,” Grey whispered callously, clapping his hands together with a resounding clap.

Fifty lightning spears erupted in unison, lashing out at the men charging from the front at incredible speed.

“Hump!” The men shouted together, their voices blending as they thrust their hands upward.

Instantly, a towering wall of earth shot up, attempting to block the incoming spears. A sharp, resonating boom rang out as the attackers’ faces twitched, their muscles straining to hold the assault back.

Within seconds, they let the wall drop, only to find Grey had vanished from their front again. He moved so fast, his legs shimmering with energy, coated in a pair of lightning-infused boots that seemed to blur him into the air itself.

He darted towards the men behind him, the ones aiming to reach Clarice, streaking between them like a flash of living lightning.

Wind swords in hand, he slashed with precision, decimating their necks before they could even blink.

The world seemed to freeze momentarily as the Supreme Magus appeared in front of the men who had raised the earth wall.

Before he could strike them again, fireballs burst through the shattered windows, hurling towards him at terrifying speed.

Grey reacted instantly, leaping backward and side-stepping, letting the fiery projectiles smash into the walls and floor, exploding violently.

With a final skid, he landed directly in front of the girls again, who were too stunned to react. Spikes and shrapnels of earth shot towards him like bullets, but to the Supreme Magus, they were nothing.

He extended his palms and shouted:

“Aerius ultra!”

The wind screamed as a massive blast surged outward, colliding with the earth spikes and sending them crashing into walls or shattering harmlessly into fragments.

“Grey!”

The mage heard the urgent shout behind him and spun like a blur, a lightning sword materialising in his hand. He hurled it forward with tremendous force, Ki amplifying its speed.

A loud, bone-rattling bang rang out as the blade tore through the air and slammed into an attacker aiming for Clarice.

The sword obliterated the man’s skull, slicing upward through the necks of several others descending from above.

SWOOOSH!

The sound whipped past his ears, and Grey spun instinctively, only to be struck squarely by a gust of wind. It lifted his body violently and slammed him into a wall with bone-jarring force.

The women froze in horror.

“GREY!” they shouted together, fear and panic in unison.

Clarice gritted her teeth.

One of the men raised his hand, readying a deadly attack, but she zipped forward with blinding speed.

Materialising before him, she smashed her fist into his face with incredible force, sending him tumbling backward into the others.

Vanessa, inspired by her mother’s display, found courage.

She leaped high, spinning violently in the air. Ki gathered around her feet, and at the perfect moment, she struck an unlucky attacker descending from the ceiling, smashing her toes into his neck with precision.

The force was so great that blood burst from his mouth and his body blasted backward, crashing into the spot where Grey had been moments earlier.

“Don’t think we are that helpless!”

The Supreme Magus slowly rose, wiping saliva from his lips as he watched the females gaining a slight upper hand against their attackers.

A mage who had landed from above thrust his arms forward, and a blazing ball of flames shot toward Millie at terrifying speed.

BANG!

The clamorous sound echoed with such violence that the ears of everyone in the room rang painfully, forcing them to cover their heads.

A figure blurred forward, snatching Millie out of the way just before the fireball smashed into the ground with destructive force.

Before the caster could even speak, the same figure streaked forward again, appearing directly in front of the man.

Grey’s eyes glowed with ferocious light.

His aura spilled out, drowning the room in murderous intent.

“I’m going to make you suffer. I will make you experience hell on earth,” Grey whispered coldly as he grabbed the man’s head.

In a flash, he slammed the attacker into the floor, cracking the tiles violently.

“How dare you try to harm Millie!”

He punched downward, driving the man’s skull deeper into the shattered ground, blood spilling from the man’s mouth.

“I will kill you!” Grey roared as a lightning sword materialised in his grip.

He raised it high, ready to drive it through the man’s skull when a whooshing sound sliced into his senses.

He spun, but too late.

Two arrows struck his arms with tremendous force, sliding him backward on his knees as he grit his teeth from the impact.

Before he could retaliate, the arrows burrowed deeper and then twisted unnaturally, forming a metallic curve that wrapped around his wrists like restrictive bracelets.

“Huh?”

He barely had time to register the bizarre arrows before a sharp cry cut through the chaos. He snapped his head upward, eyes widening as he saw an earth shrapnel lodged in Vanessa’s leg.

She tumbled to the floor with a pained yelp.

The sound shook Clarice. She turned instinctively, only to be struck in the face by a heavy earth club. Blood sprayed from her lips as her body whipped aside and crashed into the ground.

Grey’s fury ignited.

He clenched his teeth and rose with trembling rage, prepared to unleash devastation upon the entire house.

“ARGHHHH!” he bellowed, swinging his arms outward.

Shock followed.

Nothing emerged.

No magic.

No wind.

No lightning.

Not even a faint spark.

Grey blinked rapidly, staring at his hands in disbelief. He clenched and unclenched his fists, but still, nothing answered his call.

‘What? What is going on? Why can’t I use my magic? My mana is here, I can feel it, but I can’t summon anything. Why?!’

“Kek, kek, kek!”

A chilling chuckle echoed from above, drawing every gaze upward.

A man floated leisurely in the air, robes fluttering as if the room obeyed him. A mask clung to his face, an eerie creation that devoured the light around it.

It was devoid of emotion, carved from an obsidian-like material that made it appear like his entire face had been erased. Strange runes pulsed along its surface, shifting slowly like ancient whispers imprisoned beneath glass.

A twisted grin stretched unnaturally across the mask, frozen in a sinister mockery of amusement.

Its hollow eye sockets were endless pits of shadow, with faint embers glowing deep inside like dying stars. Black mist drifted from its edges, coiling and slithering like a living presence.

When the man spoke, the voice did not come from the mask. Instead, the sound crawled into the air, vibrating with a presence that felt ancient and wrong.

“Grey Dawn, you are one heck of a trouble, you know that? But rejoice for today is the day you die.”

His words reverberated through the room with overwhelming, otherworldly pressure.
