Chapter 662: Faster Evolution Path
CHAPTER 662

“Ah.” Grey sighed as he could be seen in a new room.

He had taken the materials from the previous room, the failed weapons, the beast cores and everything he needed back with him into this new room, still on the same floor.

The door was tightly shut behind him as he plopped onto the ground.

He grabbed a chalk and was about to begin drawing his magic circles but paused.

He unconsciously began reflecting on the battle he had just partaken in, and he couldn’t help but shudder after remembering the horrors he had bestowed on his foes.

‘Thi… this ability of draining someone’s Ki is dangerous.’ He thought, his hand frozen as he stared at it.

‘Not only can it extract another person’s Ki, but if continually used, I can steal someone’s life force and add it to mine.

After what I did there, I can feel that my Dantian has grown. It genuinely feels like the Ki has been permanently embedded into my Dantian.’

He paused as a small smirk settled on his face before he let out a long laugh.

“Guess I have just discovered a faster evolution route. I recently evolved into a stage 3 warrior, but now, with this ability, I can rapidly strengthen my Dantian and eventually be pushed into the next stage far quicker than normal.”

He smirked again.

Glancing back down, he proceeded with drawing his circles.

‘Hmph. Interesting. But for now, I need to focus on crafting a peak shield for Brook.’ He mused as, within a few minutes, he was done with the circles.

Without hesitation, he tossed two beast cores into the circle, followed by the tower shield, and swiftly ignited it with his mana and Ki.

Sparks burst upward, swirling together as his arcane energies intertwined with the raw power within the materials.

The circle vibrated lightly, giving off a faint hum that echoed through the room like a lurking heartbeat.

Meanwhile on the same floor, the Crimson Lotus Clan could be seen staring at the horror Grey had unleashed upon the dead Behemoth clan members.

“Ho… how did he do this?” Judy asked, her lips quivering as she stared at the hollow widened eyes of the corpses.

“He… he drained their life force.” Alba uttered, her tone grave as she stared all around her.

“But how did he manage it?” Lance bellowed in pure horror, the hairs on his body rising sharply.

“Exactly.” Brook chimed in with a deep frown on his face.

“He should still be a low stage warrior, not even in the mid stage yet. And this technique is something only higher stage warriors of this faction can perform. So how did he pull it off?”

“After all I have witnessed,” Ash muttered, his gaze glued to the ground with his head lowered.

“I don’t think I can be shocked by anything he does again.”

“What do you mean? What else happened?” Alba asked as she spun around to stare at the warrior.

Ash’s eyes widened as if he had been reliving a nightmare that refused to fade.

He gulped loudly before responding to the question:

“He… he displayed some strange magical abilities. He was shooting lightning from his hands.

Actual visible wind swords were floating and slicing all around. Infact,” Ash paused as he lifted his head to stare at the stupefied expressions on the others’ faces,

“He moved like a lightning bolt, like someone truly forged for relentless battle.

His movements, his techniques, his instincts, everything about him felt extraordinary. Lightning, wind, martial arts, every force around him reacted as if the universe was submitting to his intent.”

A thick silence blanketed the entire corridor as everyone sank deeper into their thoughts, each one disturbed by the implications.

“Pffft. Complete nonsense.” Lance scoffed while waving his hand dismissively, clearly refusing to entertain the topic.

That comment instantly made Killian grind his teeth, his gaze sharpening as it locked onto the warrior.

“It would have been nonsense if I hadn’t witnessed everything with my own eyes. He summoned two hundred lightning arrows and used them to threaten the vice clan leader of the Behemoth clan.”

Killian’s firm testimony pulled everyone to a halt.

They all understood what kind of person Killian was.

He fought like a maniac, lived for combat, and chased battles recklessly, yet one thing he never did was lie.

“This is an entirely new revelation.” Alba whispered, scanning her surroundings again with cautious eyes before releasing a long breath.

“I guess his confidence in challenging the Aetherian faction wasn’t empty bragging.” Lilly murmured with a weary sigh that broke the tension just slightly.

“The problem is, will such power truly be enough?” Ash muttered, rubbing his temples with a distressed expression.

Alba exhaled and allowed her shoulders to fall before facing her people with a soft, reassuring smile.

“There is no point stressing over possibilities that have not happened yet.” She paused, studying each expression carefully, but since none of them said anything, she continued.

“For now, we need to get these bodies out of here before they start releasing a stench strong enough to choke the entire floor. Killian, get yourself treated. The rest of us will rest and prepare.”

“Wait!” Judy suddenly shouted as she stared directly at Alba.

“Are we seriously going to leave the Supreme Magus alone? What if someone tries to ambush him?”

Alba blinked once before bursting into uncontrollable laughter.

“After everything we have just seen, anyone who tries to attack him would be volunteering for a quick trip to the afterlife.

If what Ash and Killian witnessed is accurate,” she paused, her brown eyes shimmering with a mixture of fear and excitement as a smirk slowly formed on her lips,

“Then he is already a full army on his own. He can definitely protect himself.”

Ash nodded firmly, clenching his fists.

“I agree with Alba. Disturbing him now would be foolish. If we distract him or interrupt his work, we might end up exactly like these unfortunate fools.” He pointed at the lifeless bodies scattered around.

“Lance, take Killian to the healer,” Alba ordered, and Lance complied instantly.

“The rest of us will start clearing the bodies. It will keep our minds occupied and prevent unnecessary overthinking.” She chuckled softly, though her heart carried something entirely different.

‘Looks like I truly discovered a treasure. A genius with monstrous potential, someone unique from a mysterious world.

Thank goodness I had the sense to treat him with respect.’ She mused privately, a faint smirk curling inside her mind as she bent down to work.

Suddenly, she froze, her expression twitching as a faint frown crept onto her beautiful face.

‘Damn it! I really want to see his face!’ She bawled inwardly, biting back the urge to sneak a peek.
