Magus Supremacy - Chapter 661
Chapter 661: He Really Did This?!
CHAPTER 661
“Pheeew.” Ash heaved a long sigh of relief.
He glanced at Killian who clutched his abdomen in immense pain.
He winced as even breathing became somewhat hard, each inhale scraping against his ribs like fire.
Grey on the other hand had his hands tucked in his pockets as he kept his gaze on the ceiling above that had been destroyed by Osric’s exit.
‘To think that I have grown strong enough to deal damage to hundreds of trained warriors. How amusing.’ Grey mused as he lowered his eyes.
Ash stared at Grey, his limbs trembling while remembering what he had witnessed a while ago.
‘He…He is dangerously strong. That level of destruction is not normal.’
Grey gazed at the duo, his eyes scanning them from head to toe.
“I’m glad that you both did your absolute best in trying to stop the men from interrupting me.”
He paused briefly, watching their reactions closely.
He continued:
“I’m sorry that you both would have to clean up after me.” He smirked beneath the mask, voice steady and almost playful despite the carnage.
Ash’s mouth was wide agape, his breath hitching for a moment.
‘He…He is being too casual about what just happened?! How can someone talk like this after slaughtering an army?’
“Oh well,” Grey uttered as he waved lazily at the duo and turned around toward the staircase.
“I will be moving into the other room to continue my work. You know what to do.”
With that, he began ascending the stairs, leaving the two warriors staring at his back until he disappeared from view.
Killian staggered before quickly grabbing Ash’s shoulders to steady himself, his breathing slightly ragged.
“You okay?” Ash asked, his eyes full of worry.
“Yeah. A bit.” Killian replied before taking a deep breath to settle his nerves.
“Well, I’m not.”
“Eh? What do you mean?” Killian asked as his gaze swept across the remaining bodies that had been tossed around by Grey.
Ash paused for a moment, every horrific detail replaying in his mind.
From the massacre, to the brutality, to the suction of the warriors’ life forces. The gruesome imagery felt stitched into his thoughts.
“The Supreme Magus is an absolute monster.”
“And that is what this world definitely needs.” Killian replied as he steadied his breathing, then stood upright before adding:
“It is evident he is not of this world based on what we have seen him do today. Yet, he managed to learn Ki— our world’s power. Now I know why he is confident about taking on the Aetherian faction.”
“Yet,” Ash whispered, his cadaverous eyes glancing around.
“I don’t think it is enough, we need more. The Aetherians are not a small threat.”
“Ruthless to foes, kind to allies. He reminds me of someone.” Killian smiled weakly as he coughed a bit.
Ash opened his mouth to reply, but suddenly paused.
Footsteps!
Glancing toward the sound, he could see multiple people rushing in. Fortunately, they recognised them immediately.
It was the remaining Crimson Lotus Clan members.
“Oh my goodness, you both are fine.” Lilly exhaled sharply as she darted toward the duo, her relief almost visible.
“Damn. I never thought I would see you in such a state.” Lance uttered with furrowed brows and pointed toward Killian.
“How… How did this happen?” Brook asked, his frown deepening as he surveyed the destruction.
“The Behemoth clan attacked.” Ash replied.
Everybody froze.
Their shoulders dropped, all except Alba who maintained a calm expression as she quietly analysed the surroundings, her eyes absorbing every detail.
“The… the… the Behemoth clan? But why would they attack?” Judy asked, her shoulders trembling in fright.
“They were searching for the Supreme Magus. They wanted to recruit him.” Ash replied, his gaze settling on the others.
Silence permeated the air as everybody became instantly lost in thought.
“Figured.” Alba snapped her fingers as she walked over.
Her steps calm and calculated until she stood directly in front of the duo.
“Where is he? Is he fine?”
Ash nodded.
“B… But I don’t understand,” Lilly suddenly spoke up, drawing all attention toward her.
“We all know that the Behemoth clan always attacks with a large number of men, right?”
“Yeah? Your point exactly?” Killian asked with a raised brow.
“I was wondering.” Lilly replied with her eyes twinkling in deep thought. “How did you both survive?”
“That’s true.” Brook uttered as he slowly turned toward the two, examining them from head to toe.
“How did you both survive?”
Ash and Killian glanced at each other, silently debating who should speak.
A few seconds passed until Ash sighed and decided to answer.
“The Supreme Magus did. Without him, we would both be dead by now.”
“What?!” Everybody gasped in shock, their eyes widening as they looked all around, trying to piece together the insanity of what they just heard.
‘Huh?’ Alba mused inwardly with a slight frown on her face before deciding to speak up:
“How so?”
“Come with me upstairs.” Ash said and without waiting for anyone to interject, he turned around and began ascending the stairs.
The remaining clan members exchanged brief glances before following.
A few moments later, they reached the upper floor.
What they saw instantly made their skins crawl. Even Killian’s eyes widened as he hadn’t witnessed the scene earlier due to being trapped in his own battle.
The colour drained from their faces in an instant as their hearts collectively thumped loudly.
“Wh… what is this?” Lance’s mouth hung wide open.
“This… This is the work of the Supreme Magus.” Ash calmly replied after a brief pause.
His fingers pointed all around. And what lay there?
Bodies.
Not just any bodies, but bodies of Behemoth clan warriors. Hundreds of them scattered across the floor like discarded toys.
Some had been torn apart while still alive. Some had enormous holes punched through several parts of their bodies.
Some had deep sword cuts across their necks, but that wasn’t the most disturbing sight. The most horrifying were the other bodies.
These ones were shriveled, dried, and drained like corpses left in the sun for weeks.
Their hairs had turned stark white.
The colour on their faces and limbs completely erased as if every ounce of life had been sucked out.
Their mouths were wide open as though they had screamed their final breath before perishing.
Their eyes— though colourless were stretched wide, frozen in terror, as if they had witnessed a demon rise from the darkest pits of hell.
The calm facade Alba had been holding earlier shattered instantly at the sight.
“The Supreme Magus really did this?!”
