Magus Supremacy - Chapter 648
Chapter 648: Don’t want no distractions
CHAPTER 648
“Finally!” A beaming voice was heard in a certain room.
“After countless failures and repeated attempts, I’ve managed to get a grade that actually looks promising.” Grey rejoiced in pure exhilaration as he lifted a pair of swords high into the air.
They didn’t resemble ordinary blades due to the vibrant array of colors radiating from them.
One sword was entirely black, from tip to hilt, while the second glowed in a deep, unbroken red.
Both weapons pulsed with raw energy, quivering as if the power within had yet to stabilize completely.
Looking around the room, out of the dozen swords Killian had brought, only four remained intact in a single corner.
The rest lay shattered from failed modifications, leaving the pair in Grey’s hands as the only ones meeting his standards.
“Although I wish this were of a higher grade. To me, it still feels basic, but I’m certain Killian will appreciate it.” Grey sighed, carefully setting the swords aside, away from the pile of destroyed weapons.
“Okay, time to attempt these shields again.” He muttered tiredly, his gaze scanning the remaining shields stacked neatly in the cart.
“If this succeeds, I’ll use the leftover cores to craft some pills. Need to keep my little business running.
Once I finish here today, I’ll dedicate the remaining days in this faction to refining my magic and combat techniques before returning to the Aetherian faction. I’m already feeling a bit drained.
I wonder what Killian is doing on the other side. This door feels soundproof; I can barely hear anything outside unless I really concentrate—not that I care to.” He scoffed, picking up a piece of chalk and starting to draw precise runes and symbols on the floor.
‘I’ve learned from past failures that modifying this shield is far more delicate than crafting swords.
Swords I am accustomed to; I understand the subtle threads I need to manipulate. Being attuned to meditation and the surrounding energies helps immensely.
For example, when I enter my meditation trance, I can visually perceive the flow of mana in the air.
Looking at weapons, I can see the threads connecting them. Grasping the wrong thread results in complete failure, sometimes destruction.
This is why I insisted on working in silence. Even the slightest noise can shatter my focus.’
“Probably why they assigned me this soundproofed room.” Grey chuckled quietly, finishing the final runes.
“Well, time to begin crafting. Hopefully, no one interrupts me because I swear, I don’t want to know who it is.
Anyone who dares disturb my process while I’m creating a masterpiece, I promise to send them straight to their maker, no matter who it is.” He uttered silently with grim determination.
He placed the shield carefully into the magic circle and began the intricate work.

Meanwhile, outside the room, Ash had just joined the fray.
“Took you long enough, Ash,” Killian scoffed, irritation lacing his voice.
“Yeah, my bad. I wasn’t sure if I could contribute effectively in this battle, and I also needed a moment to prepare my technique.” Ash replied coldly.
Adjusting the hood over his pale face.
A faint green mist seeped from his fingers, swirling around his nails with an eerie shimmer.
‘Years and years of working with poison, ingesting and curing myself repeatedly, have taught me to manipulate my Ki.
When I reached Stage 5 as a warrior, my Ki evolved and became inherently poisonous, granting me a deadly technique that works on touch.
Although, I could disperse it into the air, but it would demand extreme concentration, remaining perfectly still, and an immense amount of Ki.’ Ash thought, eyes narrowing as he studied the men surging forward.
More enemies continued rushing up the stairs at full speed, their battle cries echoing through the corridor.
“Let’s do this, yeah?” Killian asked as another Ki sword materialized in his hand.
He took a firm stance, muscles tensed and ready.
“Sure. Just help me get as close as possible and keep me protected.” Ash replied, his voice calm as he adopted a defensive position.
“I’m not Brook, but okay.” Killian shrugged before they both surged forward.
The men charged at them with a deafening roar.
Killian wasted no time, springing off the ground as though leaping from a trampoline.
He shot toward one of the men, swinging his sword into the attacker’s eye and pulling it free before driving his foot into the abdomen, sending the body crashing into others.
“I’ve tried my best not to kill any of you, but I forgot what I excel at,” Killian grumbled, ducking to avoid a strike to his neck.
He hauled his sword upward, releasing a Ki slash that cleaved another attacker in two.
“I thrive on bloodshed and death above all else!” he roared, deflecting another strike with his Ki sword.
“Killian!” Ash shouted, alerting him to men swarming around his position.
“Shit!” Killian cursed as he turned sharply to intervene, only for his foot to be grabbed.
Turning around, he saw the enemies suddenly part, allowing a single figure to pass through.
The man was slightly bulky, wearing tight-fitting clothing that accentuated his muscles.
A small scar ran across his cheek, and his piercing eyes seemed to bore into one’s soul.
“I know you, Killian the Slayer, the famous right hand of the Crimson Lotus Clan.” The man’s deep voice echoed through the corridor, causing the surrounding enemies to freeze in shock.
“But unfortunately for you…” the man began before vanishing in a blur, appearing directly beside Killian.
His overwhelming aura spilled outward, suffocating everyone nearby, and then…
BAM!
BOOOM!
“Killian!” Ash screamed as his comrade was hurled through the air, smashing into a wall and denting it severely.
“I am one of the vice leaders of the Behemoth Clan.” The man said, smirking at Ash as he adjusted his stance, radiating lethal authority.

{A/N}
Hey Magus Legion. Ahem, I know this is totally selfish and unprofessional of me to ask, but I was wondering… ahem… uhm…
Can I maybe get a magic castle? I will really appreciate it a lot. Thank you.
