Chapter 646: You have to go through me first!
Chapter 646

Crash! Crash, Crash!

The sound of glass shattering echoed violently throughout the warehouse-like building.

Screams filled the air as all of Ash’s assistants scattered in every direction, panic and dread descending upon the room like a heavy fog.

“Shit, they are here.” Ash muttered under his breath, his hands trembling as he scanned the area.

Before anyone could react or organize, the glass from a nearby flank exploded into shards.

The assistant ducked instinctively to avoid the splinters as dozens of heavily armed men surged through the opening.

“Look there, there are three more over there!” one of the invaders shouted, pointing directly at Killian, Ash, and the assistant who had reported the intrusion.

“Damn it.” The assistant swallowed hard, panic tightening his throat.

The men advanced at full speed, weapons glinting in the dim light, Ki flaring dangerously around their bodies, ready to annihilate anyone who dared stand in their path.

“AHHHHHH!” One of the attackers squealed as he lunged at the assistant, his sword cutting through the air with lethal speed.

A metallic clash rang out abruptly as someone threw themselves into the weapon’s path, holding their hand aloft to intercept the strike.

It was Killian.

His eyes blazed with fierce determination as the blade struck his skin and bounced harmlessly off.

The attacker froze, stunned, while the others rushing forward halted mid-step, staring in disbelief at the man bold enough to block the deadly swing.

BAM!

Killian slammed his foot into the man’s gut with unrelenting force.

Blood sprayed from his mouth as his body rocketed backward, colliding with several others.

They tumbled and crashed to the ground in a chaotic heap.

“Stay back.” Killian commanded, his voice firm and authoritative as he glared at the advancing group.

His fists clenched tightly, fingers white with tension.

“What do you want? Why is the Behemoth clan attacking us all of a sudden?”

“We don’t need to explain ourselves to anyone.” One of the attackers shouted before adding:

“Take him down!” More glass exploded behind them, sending another wave of soldiers spilling into the room.

Footsteps pounded from the staircase below, dozens of them ascending rapidly, yet Killian remained unfazed.

He assumed a battle stance, Ki coiling around his fists and feet like a visible aura of lethal intent.

In a jiffy, the attackers in front of him lunged, and chaos erupted.

A sword slashed toward his face, but he sidestepped with precise calm, planting his foot squarely into another man’s chest and sending him flying.

Ducking low, he avoided a violent strike aimed at his neck as a spear hurtled toward him.

Killian grasped the tip with both hands, halting its momentum completely.

Channels of Ki swirled around his arms as he lifted the attacker with the spear and tossed him into the crowd, sending multiple assailants crashing down the stairs in a violent tangle.

Before he could regain full balance, a punch slammed into his jaw, staggering him backward.

He shook off the impact, focusing on the incoming threats.

‘Damn, this is going to be slightly tricky without my swords,’ Killian thought, eyes narrowing as a double-edged blade came slicing up at him from below, moving at an alarming speed.

He quickly bent backward, narrowly avoiding the blade, then twirled sharply on one foot.

His leg arced like a whip, hooking around the man’s neck. Instantaneously, he clobbered him into the ground with brutal force.

The floor quaked under the impact, dust and debris scattering into the air. Blood gushed from the man’s nose, spattering the surrounding area.

“Keep going! The rest of you, check the rooms here!” another man barked sharply as he darted forward.

Before he could take more than a few steps, Killian thrust his fist into the air.

A concentrated Ki punch shot out, striking the intruder’s midsection with bone-crushing force.

The man’s body convulsed, blood spraying from his mouth as the wind was knocked out of him.

He crashed into another attacker, sending both tumbling violently through the wall with a resounding crash.

“AHHHH!” More soldiers screamed, rushing toward Killian.

About a dozen of them swung their swords at his head simultaneously.

With no room to dodge, Killian condensed his Ki around his fists, encasing them tightly.

A loud metallic clanging erupted as the blades struck his energized hands.

His knees buckled under the combined force, slamming into the ground and cracking it severely.

The attackers pressed on relentlessly, infusing their strikes with both strength and Ki.

Dust and rubble scattered as the fissures beneath Killian widened.

He groaned through the punishment, muscles straining under the assault.

“Is he here?” one of the men asked, momentarily pausing from the attack while others combed the room.

“He isn’t here,” another replied.

‘Huh? Are they looking for someone?’ Ash wondered silently, stepping protectively in front of the trembling assistant.

‘But who?’ Suddenly, realization struck, and his eyes widened in horror.

‘Wait! Why would the Behemoth clan attack here with this many men? Of course! They’re after the Supreme Magus. Crap! How did they find out he is here?’ Panic crept into Ash’s chest.

“Killian! They are searching for the Supreme Magus!” Ash shouted the warning aloud, drawing everyone’s attention.

‘Supreme Magus? Of course they are. No! They cannot get their hands on him.’ Killian declared inwardly with his teeth ground.

‘I need my swords to be modified. I won’t let them take him!’ He added with a sharp inward roar, Ki flaring violently around him.

Booom!

A mini shockwave exploded outward from Killian, hurling the attackers away.

Bodies collided with walls and each other, scattering like ragdolls.

Those still searching the rooms froze in fear as Killian staggered to his feet.

He strode toward a particular door and planted himself firmly in front of it.

“Behind me is the door that leads to the room where the Supreme Magus is,” Killian declared, his voice sharp and unwavering.

More men flooded the floor, weapons drawn and eyes blazing with hostility.

“I dare any of you to try and make me move. Before you reach him, you have to go through me.”

“So shall it be! Get him!” All the attackers shouted in unison, charging at full speed.

Killian remained unmoved, adopting a solid stance.

His gaze swept over each movement, each advance, ready to counter any attack with precision.
