Magus Supremacy - Chapter 639
639: Meeting (2) 639: Meeting (2) Chapter 639 “Are you crazy?!” Lance shouted in shock, drawing the attention of the waiter at the counter to stare in his direction.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?
Making that sort of declaration.” Killian also shouted as he glared toward the Supreme Magus.
“Mehn!
I knew you were arrogant, but stupid too?
What is going on, Supreme Magus?” Dame added in confusion as he stared at Grey seated beside him.
But despite the loud outburst around the table, two people remained completely calm.
Grey and Alba.
After the initial shock, Alba calmly wiped her mouth, dropped the bottle in her hand, and watched on as chaos continued to erupt around the table while the warrior mage leaned back into his seat, not caring about the rantings in the slightest.
“That’s absurd, that’s crazy!
How can an alchemist like you think of wanting to do something like that?!” Ash added too, his already pale face becoming even paler after hearing what Grey said.
“Wait a moment, guys,” Judy shyly chimed in as a momentary silence descended upon the table.
“We haven’t even heard everything and you are all reacting like this?
I feel like there’s more to whatever he wants to say.” “There’s more?
Who cares about what else he has to say?” Brook countered.
“Did you hear what he was saying?
He wants to take down a faction.
Not a clan, but a damn faction, meaning one of the three governing this entire world!” “So?
Is that so crazy to ask for?” Grey suddenly asked, causing everybody to freeze for a moment.
“Everybody here must have dreamt about ruling the world at one point, right?
Even your leader here, before she became one, she must have dreamt of ruling a clan someday.
So why can’t I dream about this?” “Oh?
So it’s just a dream,” Killian heaved a sigh of relief as he attempted to sit down.
“A dream which I plan to actualise in two months time,” Grey casually dropped, causing Killian to freeze again right before his butt touched the chair.
“Huh?!” Everybody except Alba erupted again, even louder than before.
‘There is something off about this fellow,’ Alba thought as she leaned back into her chair with a slight frown resting on her face.
‘Why is he saying all these confidently?
This confidence is far too alarming for someone who appears this normal.’ “You think taking down a faction is all fun and games?
Depending on the faction, it would determine how quick and ruthless your death would be, because I’m having no part in this madness,” Lance butted in with a deep frown on his face.
“Wait, what faction are you even planning to take down?” Lilly asked.
“Does it even matter?” Ash chimed in.
“Regardless of whichever one he chooses, we will be goners before we can even realise it.” “Let’s at least hear him out,” Judy shyly commented again as she avoided staring into the intense eyes of the others.
“Judy is right,” Alba finally spoke out, breaking through the tension.
“For someone like him, an alchemist like him, to bring up something like this so confidently, it means he has some sort of plan, so let’s hear him out.
No need for us to act blindly without knowing his reasons.” “Thank you,” Grey said as he adjusted his mask and then looked around the room.
“Just like Alba said, I have a plan that would actually make this work.
And for starters, the faction I want to take down is the Aetherian faction.” “Yup.
Bro is nuts,” Killian mumbled as he facepalmed himself.
“Meaning?” Grey asked with a deep frown on his face as he stared at the warrior.
“You want to go to war with a faction whose figurehead is the closest to being a god?” Alba asked with a deep frown on her face as the situation felt too absurd to her.
“Huh?” Grey muttered as confusion crept onto his face.
“Wait, don’t tell me you don’t know who Orion is,” Dame chimed in as he turned toward Grey with a frown on his face.
“A warrior who is terribly close to reaching the status of a god.
A stage nine warrior with immense strength and power.
The reason why the other factions haven’t tried attacking the Aetherian faction yet.
That is who you want to go to war with?” “Oh,” Grey casually mumbled as he sat back down while twirling his finger in the air slightly.
“Oh?
You are still not freaked?” Lance asked as his hands shook in restrained anger.
“Freaked?” Grey asked as he turned towards the warrior with a smirk hidden beneath his mask.
“I know not of that word, because it isn’t in my encyclopedia.” “Tch!
You arrogant fo…” “Why us?” Alba calmly asked, cutting off any further altercations.
“Huh?
Meaning?” Grey asked.
“Why approach us?
We are just a clan of seven members.
Though we are strong enough to handle missions, this is beyond us.
Why did you approach us?
And why do you think I’m even going to accept this in the first place?” Alba asked again as she leaned forward, her fingers interlocking as she placed her elbows on the table.
“That is because I plan to one day be at the top of this world, one way or the other,” Grey replied as he leaned forward too, interlocking his fingers on the table while staring deep into Alba’s eyes.
“This world has long looked down on me a lot.
I have been trashed around, been abandoned to be eaten by the predators of this world, but not anymore.
I don’t want to be looked down on anymore, no.
I want to be looked upon.
And I’m sure you all feel the same way.
Being a mercenary clan, used and dumped by other major clans.
Honestly, even though you all have a solid reputation in all three factions, I’m sure the others still see you as nothing.
No threat, no value, just a simple errand clan.
Don’t you want to change that?
Don’t you want to stand in a position where people would respect you more than ever?
Which is why I ask you, join me so that together, we can take down our foes and be at the top.
What do you say?” Grey asked with a wide smirk on his face.
“No,” Alba casually replied as she slumped back into her seat with a frown on her face.
“Thank heavens,” the others at the table heaved a sigh of relief.
“Wait, what?!” Grey shouted in shock at the answer given to him.
