632: The Talk (1) 632: The Talk (1) Chapter 632 “We need to talk.” “Huh?” Grey muttered again, instantly on guard, his hands clenched tightly.

His eyes darted all around, scanning the descendants’ movements carefully in case of any funny business.

“Relax, we aren’t here to fight.” Mada scoffed after noticing how the Supreme Magus’ fingers twitched, his eyes constantly scanning and staring at them cautiously.

“Really?

Why should I believe you all?

As far as I know, this could be an ambush.

Besides, it isn’t far-fetched to think like that based on our past encounters.” Grey replied with a small frown on his face, glaring at the duo with measured caution.

“Valid reason.” Rivock nodded, a small smile on his face as he crossed his arms, staring directly at the Supreme Magus.

“But think about it.

Do you really think it would be easy to take you down, even if we wanted to?” “Valid point.” Grey nodded, a slight smirk tugging at his lips before he finally relaxed and unconsciously tucked his hands into his pants’ pockets.

“So, what exactly do you want to talk about?” Sigh!

The sound escaped from Rivock’s mouth as he uncrossed his arms, his stern expression sharpening as he looked straight at Grey.

“Firstly, I just want to thank you.” Rivock said, and then did something Grey never expected from the direct descendant.

He bowed slightly, his head lowered in a gesture of genuine respect.

“Huh?” Grey was taken aback instantly by the unexpected gesture and instinctively took a small step back, his surprise evident.

“I want to thank you for saving Mada’s life.

Even though we were enemies, you protected him and got stabbed in the abdomen on his behalf.

That was reckless, but it was also commendable because I don’t know what I would have done if something bad had happened to him earlier.” Rivock added, nudging Mada with a faint frown on his face.

Reluctantly, Mada let out a sigh and also bowed his head slightly toward Grey.

“Yeah.

Thank you for saving my life.” “Wow!” Grey could not contain his surprise, letting out a short chuckle of amusement.

“I never thought a day would come where the proud three direct descendants would bow to me.

Oh wait!

I knew a day like this would come, but I never imagined it would happen so soon.” He muttered, a sly grin forming across his face.

“Tch!” Mada scoffed, standing upright, irritation etched across his features.

Rivock also straightened, trying to maintain his composure.

“Well, I saved him because of his brother,” Grey said, staring directly at the descendants before a frown crept across his face.

“But something tells me that’s not the only reason you’re here.” “That’s right.” Rivock replied with a smirk, his eyes glinting as he looked at Grey.

“Aside from thanking you for saving Mada’s life, I also want to thank you for saving all our lives.

I’m not so stupid, arrogant, or foolish to think that if you hadn’t been there that day, we would have survived.

I wouldn’t even be standing in front of you right now because I can’t count the number of times I was almost killed by that demon.

If you hadn’t fought with everything you had, I wouldn’t be here.

And I’m certain all the students back at the academy feel the same way.

They know who truly saved them that day.” ‘I know already,’ Grey thought inwardly.

‘Over the past week, all the students have kept thanking me over and over again.

Wherever I went, I kept hearing thanks and praise, again and again.

That’s why I always came to the roof here, to escape them all,’ Grey thought as he stared at the descendants with a mixture of curiosity and caution.

“And after that battle, I…No!

We all realized something, and I’m sure the others did too,” Rivock continued, snapping Grey out of his thoughts.

“The leaders we all pledged our loyalty to, the ones we swore to respect and lay down our lives for, they abandoned us completely.

I’m not a fool.

Based on how you performed that day, if you wanted to escape, you could have done so easily.

There was no reason for you to stay and fight, yet you risked your life for everybody there, and our so-called leaders abandoned us all to go protect their territories.

My own father, whom I thought was proud of me and wanted me to take the chair of the clan, abandoned me!” He added, his hands clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned stark white, his teeth grinding back and forth in restrained rage.

“I knew my dad considered me useless.

He never cared about me personally, only about his clan.

So this event didn’t really shock me,” Mada chimed in with a sigh, his gaze fixed on Grey.

“But I’ll be lying if I said it didn’t sting a little, being abandoned like that.” “I mean, it was obvious from the start that we were abandoned.

Everybody knows that already.

So why are you all telling me again?” Grey asked, raising a brow in confusion, his voice edged with mild frustration.

“That’s because we need your help, Grey,” Noelle finally spoke, her voice calm yet firm, the first words she had said since arriving.

“Huh?

Need my help?

For what exactly?” Grey asked, narrowing his eyes as he studied their expressions, a hint of wariness in his tone.

“We all realized that we pledged our loyalty to the wrong people.

After that incident, my eyes and memories were finally unlocked.

I understand now what must be done, and we have all come to a decision,” Rivock replied, stepping forward, the others following closely.

Grey instantly stiffened, his instincts screaming that something serious was about to unfold.

“What exactly do you want to do?” The Supreme Magus asked, lightning crackling along his hands, ready to be unleashed as he glared at the trio approaching him.

“Grey,” Rivock began, the trio suddenly stopping in their tracks.

They paused, as if the world itself held its breath, and then, like dominoes, they all fell to their knees, heads bowed in unison.

“We have decided to pledge our loyalty to you.

We have decided that we need your power to perform a coup.” “Wait, what?!” Grey shouted, taking a few steps back in shock, his heart racing and his mind struggling to process their words.
