630: Plea of Desperation!

630: Plea of Desperation!

Chapter 630 Nobody could say or do anything as silence prevailed in the coliseum for a moment until… “He is right.” A voice suddenly cut through the tension and when everybody turned towards the speaker, they were shocked.

It was Rivock who, despite bleeding heavily, still stood up.

He pushed the other direct descendants lightly away from him as he staggered forward, each step shaky as if the ground beneath him was tilting.

“Rivock?” Mada softly called out as he watched his friend dragging his wounded body closer to where Grey lay despite the grave injuries covering him.

“Honestly, I don’t think this could help him, but I would love to believe we can do something.

Yes, I hate Grey and right now, I don’t even know what to call my feelings for him anymore, but as a fellow warrior, I admire his grit to the end.

I always thought I was crazy, but I never imagined I would meet someone even more crazy than I am and he has earned my respect as a fellow crazy warrior, so…” Rivock said as he plopped down on his knees beside Grey’s body, his breath trembling as he forced his body to stay upright.

“I will also offer my blood if it can help in the slightest.

Just like Liam said, Grey is what this world needs.

Our leaders don’t care about us, and it saddens me that my father is part of them, yet he doesn’t care about any of us.

But Grey, even though he claims he wasn’t fighting for us, he still fought and in the process, saved us, saved me, saved Mada.” He said and then, without hesitation, he sliced his own palm and let the blood drip straight into Grey’s mouth.

Ray didn’t speak.

He didn’t make any grand speech.

He simply walked forward with a determined look and cut his palm too.

Then Finral stepped forward.

One by one, the other students slowly approached, each slicing their wrist or palms and letting their blood drip into the Supreme Magus’ mouth.

They kept cutting themselves over and over again, their blood mixing on the ground, the scent of iron filling the air so strongly that some students had to clench their teeth to stay focused.

Sera stood there stunned.

She couldn’t move or say anything at this moment, her breathing uneven.

‘Ri…Rivock is sacrificing his blood and health for Grey?

He… this is unbelievable.

I never thought I would witness something like this,’ Sera thought in confusion, her chest rising and falling faster.

“AHHH!

Damn it!

I hate this, I hate Grey, I hate him so much!” Mada suddenly roared into the air, his voice echoing so loudly that some students flinched as he angrily stomped forward.

“Ma…Mada?

What are you doing?” Noelle called out as she watched the direct descendant stomp over and stand above Grey’s unconscious body, staring down with tightly clenched fists and wild, conflicted eyes.

Finral, Ray and Liam instinctively shifted positions, preparing themselves to defend just in case Mada snapped further.

Not that they could defeat him normally, but he was weakened now, so they at least had a chance if something went wrong.

“And I also hate that he is making me do this, but we do need the fool if we are going to be attacked by demons from now on.

So here!” Mada shouted as he slit his wrist too, letting the blood drip down into Grey’s mouth.

Rivock noticed this and a soft, relieved smile appeared on his battered face.

‘Grey…’ Thalos thought, his teeth grinding back and forth as his body continued breaking apart, peeling like old stone being shed.

Blood rushed down his body while, at the same time, new stone-like flesh rapidly grew back.

His aura was spilling out more and more, thick and overwhelming, his eyes tightly shut while his stony teeth kept grinding together.

‘I can’t believe that you actually got the direct descendants to do this for you.

Honestly, I couldn’t get over my former master, I couldn’t get over his memories.

I felt like I still needed to be loyal, even though I pledged allegiance to you.

But now, with what I am witnessing, you have earned my full loyalty.

Nothing bad must happen to you!’ Thalos declared inwardly as his body continued its violent transformation.

His old stone skin peeled off completely and fresh dark stone skin formed at full speed.

That was how his evolution went.

And in three minutes, he was completely done as new arms burst out sharply, his aura now stronger and brimming harder than ever, his new dark sheen glowing faintly under the flickering coliseum light.

Snapping his eyes open, the golden glow became brighter and more intense as he shot up on his feet and turned towards Grey’s direction only to see the students crowding him, all of them no doubt pouring their blood into him in desperation.

Opening his hand, Thalos revealed two pills resting on his palm.

One was yellow, the other purple.

‘I stole these from Grey one time to examine them.

Who knew they would come in handy,’ he sighed inwardly and without a hint of hesitation, he walked forward with firm, heavy steps.

The students, on hearing the approaching footsteps, quickly turned around only to see Thalos walking towards them with a calm but powerful presence.

“I admire your grit and determination, but that won’t really work.

Kindly step aside,” Thalos calmly commanded.

His voice carried an overwhelming pressure that even caused Rivock’s skin to prickle and tremble violently.

‘Damn it.

H…he has grown stronger?

I can feel it, my skin is prickling.

My blood is crying at me to move away from him.

Grey, you bastard, your ally has just grown stronger than before,’ Rivock thought as he slowly shuffled back with shaky legs, followed by the other students.

Thalos crouched down, gently lifted Grey’s head with surprising care for someone made of stone, opened his mouth slightly, then shoved the pills inside.

Heavens knew how he did it, but the Supreme Magus instinctively swallowed the pills as if his body recognized their purpose.

‘It’s not enough,’ the gargoyle thought as he looked at the unresponsive mage, watching the pale face and barely rising chest with frustration building inside him.

“Grey, if you’re listening, please, I want you to summon one of those potions out of your pendant.

We need you, hurry up,” Thalos said calmly as he stared at Grey’s still form, unsure whether his plea had worked or not.

But then, the Supreme Magus’ pendant suddenly glowed brightly and a small bottle materialized, landing in Thalos’ grip with a faint clink.

A red liquid swirled inside the glass.

Without hesitation, he uncorked the bottle and emptied the liquid straight into Grey’s mouth, watching as the liquid slid down his throat.

Letting the Supreme Magus’ head rest gently on the ground, Thalos slowly stood up and backed away with cautious steps.

“Please… please work, come on,” Thalos mumbled as he clenched his massive hands tightly, his knuckles grinding together like stone scraping stone.

Every single student clasped their hands together, their eyes shut tightly as if offering a desperate prayer.

‘Come on.

Look at everybody wanting you back here.

You have fought countless battles and won them all, this should be no different.

Come on.

You need to win this battle, beat the shit out of death and come out on top,’ Thalos yelled inwardly, the intensity of his thoughts almost vibrating in the air as he closed his eyes tightly.

“Come on Grey, show death why you are called the Supreme Magus now!” The gargoyle roared into the sky, his voice so loud it caused the ground to tremble and pebbles to dance across the floor.

Silence.

Crackle.

The faint sparks and crackling sound of lightning drew everybody’s attention after that brief window of silence.

They all snapped their heads forward just in time to see Grey drawing a sharp breath before letting out a loud, rough cough, his colour returning slowly to normal.

“Acheeew!” Grey sneezed loudly as snort shot out of his nose.

“Why does my mouth taste weird?

Did anybody violate me?” “GREY!!!” Ray, Liam and almost all the students shouted together as they dashed forward and threw themselves over him, crying and sobbing quietly into his clothes like children who just found something they thought was lost forever.

Thalos, Rivock and Sera let out soft smiles at the sight, their bodies finally relaxing.

‘Will you look at that, he has also managed to evolve to a stage 3 warrior,’ Thalos thought as his smile widened while he stared at Grey pushing the students off him while shouting and berating them.
