629: Another Problem?

629: Another Problem?

CHAPTER 629 “We… We actually did it!

We won!

The demon is dead!” Liam exclaimed in excitement and joy as he looked at the destroyed coliseum, tears streaming down his face in waves and even snot too.

“I… I actually lived to tell the tale.

Oh my good gracious, thank heavens!” He added as he collapsed on his knees sobbing like a newborn with snot and tears falling down his face uncontrollably.

His hands trembled as the adrenaline finally left his system, leaving him overwhelmed with relief, shock and gratitude that he had not been reduced to dust like so many feared.

“Rivock!” Mada and Noelle shouted as despite their exhausted selves, they still dashed towards the descendant who was bleeding from all over his body due to the holes created by the strings from the demon that stabbed into his flesh.

His breathing was shallow, his eyelids fluttering as the two tried to keep him conscious.

“Grey!” Ray and Finral dashed forward and quickly slid on their knees towards the Supreme Magus who was bleeding badly, his chest rising and falling continuously in a weak, unsteady rhythm.

“We… we… we need to get him treatment as soon as possible.” Ray urged as he reached out to touch Grey which he did, but with a loud yelp, he withdrew his hand back instantly, shaking it in pain.

“What happened?” Finral asked, worry tightening his features as he glanced back at Ray.

“He… he is burning up badly.” Ray replied, staring at his reddened palm.

“Huh?” Sera muttered from where she stood as she turned her head over to where Grey knelt and then she closed her eyes.

‘His aura… his Ki, it is spilling out.

It has become so dense that it ruptured out.

Is he?

Is he about to…’ “ARGHHHH!” Grey suddenly jerked his head up to face the sky and he yelled out in pure pain which stunned the two beside him as they quickly shuffled back in fright.

“Not again!” He shouted as he suddenly fell on his face, blood spilling from his mouth continuously.

The shudder in his voice carried pure agony, the kind that made even seasoned fighters flinch.

“Wh… what is going on?” A blue band asked in fright as everybody’s attention was now on the screaming Grey on the ground, his body twitching uncontrollably as though lightning itself was tearing him apart.

“He is… he is…” Albed stuttered.

“He is evolving.” Sera completed her words.

“He is about to become a stage three warrior.

I guess this was the push he needed to evolve.” ‘And so am I,’ Thalos thought as he quickly crossed his stony feet into a meditative pose, his aura spilling out as slight rumblings could now be heard in the air which caused the onlookers to turn towards him too.

And they could see his cracked body cracking more and more to the extent it began breaking.

Yes, Thalos’ body was now breaking apart, pinkish blood spilling from the cracks, but he did not let out a sound as he stayed in the same spot, his face completely calm despite the torment.

His hands were gone but he did not mind as he continued going through his evolution while Grey was currently screaming and shouting like a toddler who was being ripped apart and rebuilt from the inside.

“Should we take him away from here?” Liam asked as he reached out wanting to help, but his hand trembled at the sight of Grey’s spasming body.

“No!

Nobody should touch them until they are done.” Sera interrupted as she watched on anxiously.

The air around Grey and Thalos vibrated so heavily that stepping closer felt like stepping into a storm that wanted to tear flesh from bone.

“ARGHHHHH!” Grey screamed out again, blood dripping from his nose, mouth and eyes further adding to his bleeding state.

His voice grew hoarse yet the pain did not let up.

His bones were now rapidly breaking and reforming back at an astonishing rate.

His blood bubbled and boiled as if a thousand hot needles were unleashed inside him, prickling and jabbing at him continuously.

All this pain made his mind break.

As he screamed and yelled, he clawed at the ground with his single hand, trying to dig it into the dirt.

Anything to just ease the unbearable pain he was currently going through, anything to ground himself before he passed out or worse.

“Argh… cough, cough, cough!” He coughed out specks of blood as his eyes looked to be growing pale, and so was his skin.

He looked like a corpse being forced to remain alive by sheer will and instinct.

“Shit!

Something is going on!” Ray shouted in pure horror as he could feel that something was going wrong hence Sera darted forward and quickly slid on her knees beside the Supreme Magus.

Seeing how pale he was becoming, her heart began pounding loudly against her chest, her breath quickening.

“He… he has lost a lot of blood from the battle.

The evolution is still making him bleed more and it looks like his blood is drying up and… and… and…” Sera stuttered in fright as she could see Grey spasming, his body jerking like something inside him was trying to break out.

“And what?!” Finral shouted in panic.

“His evolution is about to fail and he might die from it,” Sera revealed as her mouth went dry in an instant.

Everybody was shocked by what they had just heard.

The once proud Supreme Magus, the powerful warrior who fought tooth and nail against the demon, going toe to toe with it without hesitation, was now about to lose a battle against an evolution?

“Is… is there anything we can do to help him?

Anything, please!” Liam shouted as he fell to his knees beside Grey’s body.

Thalos, who was undergoing his own evolution, could hear everything being said and if he had his hands, he would have been clenching them tightly right now.

“I… I… I don’t think there is anything we can do,” Sera replied with trembling lips.

“So we just sit back and watch Grey die?!” Finral retorted, his hands clenching in pure anger as his teeth began grinding together.

“Finral…” Ray softly called out.

“And you think I want him dead?!” Sera clapped back in rage as she shot up to glare at the student.

“He saved our lives a moment ago and you think I will let someone as powerful as that die like this?” “Then do something!” Finral shouted back.

“He needs blood, right?” A sudden shaky voice cut through the tension and everybody turned toward the source, only to see Liam kneeling in front of Grey.

Gently, he turned the Supreme Magus onto his back.

“Then I will give him all my blood if it means saving his life!” Liam shouted and before anybody could stop him, the warrior swiftly slit his wrist.

Blood rushed out as he positioned it over Grey’s mouth and began squeezing it in.

“Hey, what are you doing?!” Albed yelled in confusion as she stared at the crazy student.

“What is he now?

A vampire?

You think feeding him blood directly like that would work?” “Then am I supposed to sit back and watch our saviour die?!” Liam shot back, turning to glare at her.

“We both know that if it wasn’t for him, we would all be dead.

Or could you have fought the demon?

Could Instructor Sera have done anything?

“Even the leaders abandoned us, but even till the end, Grey stood firm and fought with everything he had.

And now you want us to just watch him die?!” He shouted while still squeezing his blood into the Supreme Magus’ mouth.

He then looked down at Grey again with trembling eyes.

“I don’t care what happens anymore.

I was useless in the battle against the demon.

I wasn’t strong enough to even move, and right now, I don’t know if this will help or not, but at least allow me to believe I can make a difference.

I don’t care if every drop of blood in my body drains out.

Grey needs to live.

He is what this accursed world needs!” Liam roared as tears streamed down his face continuously.

His voice echoed in the coliseum like a desperate plea for hope.

Even those who doubted him stopped breathing for a moment.

The air grew heavy, thick with fear and helplessness, yet Liam’s determination seemed to force the world itself to pause.

Nobody could say or do anything as silence fell over the coliseum for a long, suffocating moment until…
