627: The Battle is really over!
Chapter 627 BAM!
BOOOM!
The air quaked so loudly as the gargoyle’s foot smashed into the bony wing, the ground beneath the demon’s feet caved in instantly and to Gil’s horror, its wings crumbled like a collapsing building with the shattered bones falling like snowflakes.
Its eyes were wide open as it couldn’t believe what it was seeing, not even in its most twisted nightmares.
‘Is…is…is he growing stronger?’ the demon asked itself inwardly in shock before its teeth began grinding back and forth in pure anger.
It slowly turned its glare toward Grey, eyes glowing with a hatred so intense it almost felt physical.
“It’s all your damn fault!
I should have successfully completed my mission if it wasn’t because of your meddling self, so why don’t you just DIE!” The demon roared into the sky as its free claw began glowing a fierce black.
It swung it right at the Supreme Magus with full speed, the air ripping open around it from the brute force alone.
‘Shit!
How is Grey going to block that when his single hand is being occupied by the second claw?’ Sera thought as her heart thumped loudly in panic.
Her breathing hitched as she watched both forces collide again and again without slowing down.
“Do you know why you are going to lose today?” Grey asked as the lightning sword he held shattered into glowing fragments.
In a flash, a beaming light began appearing in front of his face, specifically around his teeth as if his very breath was vibrating with raw power.
“You faced off against me, you faced off against the Supreme Magus and the Supreme Magus doesn’t lose.” He muttered calmly as a lightning sword formed right in front of him.
Without hesitation, he gripped it with his teeth, jaw tightening just as the demon’s glowing claws reached him.
CLANG!
BOOOM!
Grey blocked the glowing claws with the lightning sword held between his teeth.
The collision was so violent that the shockwave blasted outward and slammed Thalos away while chunks of earth exploded into the air.
The Supreme Magus held on tight, refusing to let go even as the lightning sparked wildly around his jaw.
“Let my hand go!” The demon shouted in pure rage as it tried to yank its hand out of Grey’s grip when… TCHWK!
A wind and lightning sword dropped from the sky like a divine punishment, slamming into the demon’s arm and slicing it clean off.
Gil tumbled backwards violently, crashing into the earth and rolling across the ground in pain and disbelief.
‘I will take what I have, what I have learnt, what I have gained, fuse them together, multiply them and blast its head off!’ Grey roared internally as he jerked his single good arm back.
He was preparing for the Kian burst, but something was different this time.
Different in a way that felt dangerous even to him.
Not only was his fist glowing white, the wind was beginning to howl louder than before, swirling violently around him and especially around his fist.
The ground rumbled and cracked as if the earth itself was reacting to the power building inside him.
Everyone stared at the scene with wide eyes, unable to look away.
‘Grey is going for the kill.
This is powerful.
Too powerful.
The demon won’t remain standing.
We need to keep it still!’ Sera thought as Ki swirled around her legs and sword.
‘We need to keep it still!’ Noelle and Mada screamed inwardly as they tightened their grips and shot forward with everything they had.
‘This attack… It’s similar to the one he used to blast my abdomen earlier, but more powerful.
Much more.
Damn it!
I need to leave as soon as possible.’ The demon thought, its sliced hand regenerating slowly while Grey continued condensing massive energies into one point, into that single fist.
“Time to leave and fight another day.” The demon muttered and was about to take off when wooshing sounds filled the air and from all sides, everyone appeared including the other red band students and Albed.
“You’re going nowhere!” Sera thundered as she grabbed one of the demon’s hands.
Noelle swung her whip, coiling it around one of its feet and locking it in place with all her strength.
Everyone piled onto its body, holding everything except its head, keeping its weak point fully exposed.
“Let me go now!
Get the fuck off me!” The demon roared as it tried to push the students away, its muscles bulging in effort while Noelle held on, pulling with every ounce of strength left in her body.
“AHHHHHH!” Gil roared in pure anger as it grabbed a student by the face and hurled him away like a ragdoll.
Another student ate a hooved foot straight to the jaw, his body flipping in the air before crashing down.
“Come on Grey!
Hurry the hell up!” Albed thundered as she clung to the demon’s neck, pulling and dragging it back with everything she had.
“AHHHHHHHH!” Grey’s scream echoed across the entire arena as the energy kept condensing more and more around his hand.
The ground rumbled beneath him, the vibration growing harsher as if an earthquake was preparing to erupt.
Crackle, crackle, crackle.
BANG!
Grey exploded from where he stood at the speed of light.
He moved so fast it almost seemed like teleportation and with a forceful push of his feet, he leaped high into the air with his glowing hand raised and cocked back.
“Everybody, get away!” Sera screamed as she jumped off the demon’s body.
Everyone followed instantly, throwing themselves away from Gil and leaving the demon confused.
All Gil could see was Grey closing in rapidly.
The way the energies condensed around his hand distorted the air itself.
This time the atmosphere was not just quaking, it was shaking violently, splitting open as if reality itself could not keep up.
Even though Grey was high in the air, the ground beneath the demon cracked and shattered in response.
Around Grey’s fist was not just white energy.
Sparks of blue crackled inside it, the glow blazing like a star.
The energy wrapped around his hand like a lightning gauntlet, a fusion of Ki and mana combining into one monstrous force that spiraled straight into his fist.
‘Not enough, MORE!’ “You won’t get me ali…” the demon tried to shout but the words died instantly as another loud bang echoed.
Grey commanded the wind itself.
A violent burst smashed into his elbows and body, boosting his speed to an unimaginable level.
Gil’s eyes widened in pure horror as its death rushed toward it at full speed.
“Shit, I failed the leader.” Gil muttered as the human closed in like a meteor.
“If you are ever reborn, I hope you remember not to mess with the Supreme Magus ever!” Grey roared into the sky.
“KIAN mega blast!” KA-BAAAAM!
KA-BOOOM!
Grey’s fist smashed into the demon’s face with every ounce of speed and strength he had gathered.
In the blink of an eye, the demon’s head exploded into smithereens, scattering into bloody fragments as its body was lifted and slammed into the ground with the force of five speeding trains.
The earth split apart as the impact tore through the battlefield.
The sound was so loud it echoed outside the coliseum.
The entire structure trembled and shuddered violently.
The countless cracks and craters created during their battle connected into one, splitting the earth apart in a massive rupture.
Everyone was thrown off their feet as the coliseum shook fiercely.
A massive shockwave blasted outward, slamming everyone into the walls and denting everything in sight.
The demon’s body, crushed into the ground, burst into a bloody pop leaving only a wide pool of blood behind.
After a few long minutes, the rumbling finally stopped and everyone slowly struggled to their feet, dazed and trembling.
Grey was on his knees, huffing and panting in raw pain as blood dripped from his wounds like a river.
The red strings connected to Rivock’s body dissipated at last, causing him to drop to the ground with a heavy thud.
“We…we…we all did it.
We won!
The demon is dead!” Liam screamed into the air, voice shaking as tears flowed freely down his face.
The battle was over.
The humans had really won.
But at what cost?
