625: Demon’s Weakness Remembered!

625: Demon’s Weakness Remembered!

Chapter 625 ‘Make them co-exist?

How do I even do that?

How can I make it work?’ Grey thought as the demon closed in on him at terrifying speed, so fast that the Supreme Magus was forced to snap his eyes open right as a pair of claws streaked toward his head.

“Shit!” Grey muttered as he ducked lower than his body could comfortably handle.

The claws ripped through the air above him with a thunderous bang that shook the entire arena.

An opening appeared, clear and perfect, but just as Grey moved to take it, he felt invisible strings slicing through the air toward him.

He reacted instantly, flipping backwards, flipping again, and landing metres away from the demon.

‘Crap!

Just a few more seconds.’ Grey thought as frustration burned in his chest.

He clenched his fists, breathing shakily, then reached into his pocket without hesitation.

‘Whatever happens should happen.’ He shoved another purple pill into his mouth the moment he felt the timing align.

The demon charged again with a vicious claw swing.

CLANG!

Claws clashed with steel in an eruption of sparks as Grey blocked with sheer grit.

The force sent him skidding across the ground, his boots carving into the dirt as he held the blade tightly.

Before he could even regain balance, he saw red strings shooting toward him like bullets.

‘Shit!

How do I block that?

It’s too fast!’ he panicked inwardly as the strings closed in at insane speed.

Someone burst in from the side.

BAM!

The impact sent Grey tumbling away, rolling across the dirt.

The strings slammed into the other figure’s back and lodged deep, pinkish blood spilling instantly while the victim coughed more out.

“Thalos?!” Grey shouted, stunned at the sight of the gargoyle taking the blow for him.

“You annoying sidekick!” Gil roared as he lifted his hooved foot and smashed it into Thalos, sending him flying like a ragdoll.

Grey appeared in the air above him an instant later.

“He is my friend, not a sidekick!” Grey shouted in blazing fury as he swung his sword down.

The demon attempted to sidestep, but the attack sliced into its shoulder, burying in deep and spraying blood across Grey’s face.

‘That’s it!’ Grey yelled in his mind as strings shot upward at him.

He barely leaped back in time, dodging by the skin of his teeth.

He landed three metres away, breathing hard, his sword still buried in the demon’s now damaged shoulder.

‘The same way I use my Ki and lightning magic together to boost my speed… I can force my mana and Ki together.

Combine them with my spells and create a punch strong enough to obliterate this demon.’ Grey thought as sweat dripped from his chin.

He watched the demon rip the sword out of its flesh and fling it aside.

‘That could work.

And the second pill is holding up.

I haven’t crashed yet.

Alright Grey, five minutes.

Make it count.’ He hyped himself up mentally as he darted forward.

The demon bolted toward him at the same time, and the two collided head-on.

“Ahhh!” Gil roared as it swung a claw with full speed and killing intent.

‘Take it.’ Grey decided.

He shifted his stance at the last moment, letting the claw slam into his shoulder.

The strike tore through muscle, spraying blood everywhere, but Grey didn’t get flung back.

Instead, he planted his feet, forcing pressure downward so hard that the ground beneath him exploded.

“Right here, right now, I will surpass my damn limit!” Grey roared with blood streaked across his face.

Inside his body, his Ki cells and mana energy whipped around violently, spiraling toward his hand.

Both energies rushed together, condensing faster and faster until they merged into one.

They were no longer separate forces.

Not around his fist.

His hand glowed with a pure white light that radiated raw destruction.

“Kian Thrust!” The Supreme Magus thundered.

He swung his fist forward.

Nobody even saw the motion properly.

The humans only blinked, and in that tiny moment, Grey’s punch connected with the demon’s abdomen and blasted a clean hole straight through it.

The impact sent the demon flying into the air like a launched meteor.

Its body pierced the sound barrier with a loud crack as it soared backward.

It swung its hands down desperately, shooting strings into the ground to anchor itself.

The strings tightened and slingshotted the demon back toward Grey at twice the speed.

Grey braced himself.

The demon’s feet slammed into Grey’s raised forearm.

The Supreme Magus didn’t get flung away.

He forced his feet down, digging deep into the ground so hard that a massive shockwave burst outward, cracking the soil around him.

But the impact was devastating.

Cracks snapped through the air as Grey’s arm bones shattered.

His arm dropped uselessly to his side, leaving him with only one functioning hand.

The demon landed a metre away, its abdomen slowly sealing back up, much slower than before.

‘Damn it, damn it!

I’ve been fighting these blasted humans for too long.

I’ve regenerated more times than I can count.

I’ve burned through too much energy.

My healing is slowing down.

Unless I eat a human, this will get worse.

If that damned mage hits me with that earlier attack again, especially on a weak spot, I might actually die.

I need a way to win this fight.’ The demon thought, panic rising as its wound struggled to close.

Sera was desperately thinking too.

‘Come on Sera, come on!

Time is running out.

Think!

What the hell is a demon’s weak spot?!’ She squeezed her eyes shut, digging through everything she knew, yet her mind was blank.

‘Fuck you!

If your memory is this useless, how are you supposed to remember the names of you and Gunther’s kids in the future?

You failed mother!

Do you want Gunther disappointed in you?!

Remember it NOW!’ she yelled at herself mentally, trying to force something out.

Grey wasn’t in a good place either.

‘It’s over.

Between me and the demon, I feel like I’ll run out of energy first.’ he thought as he stared at his shattered arm dangling uselessly.

His breathing was ragged.

His body was trembling.

A loud bang echoed through the arena and he looked up to see the demon rocketing toward him.

‘Is this it?

So we can’t win?

Isn’t there any weakness?

Isn’t there something I can use?’ Just as despair hit its peak, Sera’s eyes shot open.

“That’s it!” she screamed.

She looked straight up toward Grey and shouted with every ounce of breath she had.

“Grey!

Its weakness is in ONE SPOT!

Its damn head!

Blast the whole thing off using Ki attack!

Blow it to smotherens or it’ll regenerate.

That is its weakness!

Do you hear me?!

WIN THIS DAMN FIGHT FOR US!” Grey smirked, his eyes sharpening.

‘Thank you, Instructor Sera.

I hear you loud and clear.’ The demon was now inches away.

Grey clenched his remaining hand tighter, feeling his energy surge again.
