Chapter 621 KA-BOOOM!
The air thundered as a loud explosion ruptured the whole airwaves.
A shockwave blasted outward, slamming into the onlookers and sending them skidding as Grey could be seen in the air with lightning arrows surrounding him and pointing downwards.
A huge cloud of dust had been kicked up, obscuring the view and stopping anyone from seeing what was going on.
That was because Rivock had just used his clan technique, exploding Ki, and it was at point blank range, sending the demon blasting backwards with so much force that it was unable to steady itself when it smashed into a wall.
The ground where Rivock stood was now destroyed as he looked ahead, and a sinister, twisted grin crept onto his face.
“It’s… it’s still not enough to kill it.” Sera muttered, causing Grey to tilt his head towards her for a moment.
“We know.
And I’m still looking for a weakness I can exploit.” Grey muttered before turning back to stare into the distance.
“I know its Achilles heel, but I forgot and I’m trying my hardest to remember.” Sera replied with a huge frown on her face as she clenched her fists tightly, frustration building in her expression as her mind raced.
“Well, kindly try harder.
And whatever you recall, just tell us.” Grey calmly replied as if he had no care in the world, though his eyes never left the demon through the dust.
“You both can’t do it alone,” Thalos groaned out as he staggered to his feet while still bleeding continuously.
“Let me help.” “No,” Grey scolded immediately, and right on cue, the demon could be seen coming out from where it was blasted by the direct descendant.
“We can handle this by ourselves, get some rest.” “How dare you?!” Gil thundered loudly as his abdomen could be seen rapidly healing and his teeth grinding back and forth in restrained rage.
Even the ground beneath him shook lightly as his anger intensified.
“Stop barking and do your worst!” Rivock clapped back with a wide grin on his face, and in an instant, two Ki swords appeared in his hands, both humming with frightening intensity.
“Go to hell!” The demon roared again and without hesitation, it darted forward with full speed, streaking toward Rivock at crazy speed while the air behind it distorted from sheer force.
Snap, Snap, Snap!
Grey clicked his fingers thrice and each snap sent ten lightning arrows shooting toward the demon who was still speeding toward Rivock.
The descendant had already kicked off the ground, ready to clash without any hesitation.
Bang, Bang, Bang!
The air echoed out as the demon weaved through the arrows, dodging every single one and allowing them to crash into the ground, kicking up dust, scorching the soil and cracking it too while the demon darted uninterrupted.
“AHHHH!” The demon shouted as it swung its claws toward Rivock at full speed while the descendant swung his own sword to meet the claws.
Booom!
The weapons clashed in a destructive boom that tore the ground apart, chunks of earth flying into the air while the duo were locked in a single spot, neither giving an inch.
The descendant was still grinning widely, almost like he was enjoying the fight a bit too much.
SWOOOOSH!
Invisible strings streaked toward him from both sides, which the descendant was unaware of as they closed in rapidly.
Not until the Supreme Magus shot down like a blistering arrow.
BAM!
The ground trembled as he swung his hands sideways, and from them, two lightning swords formed in an instant.
He used them to block the invisible strings from hitting Rivock who was still locked in with the demon, refusing to back down.
“Yo, yo, yo!
These two are working together?” Ray exclaimed in shock as he watched the two warriors holding their own against the demon with full force, something he never thought he would witness.
“I never imagined a day would come that Grey would decide to work with one of the direct descendants for something.” Finral mumbled in surprise, blinking repeatedly.
“Aren’t you both missing something?” Liam asked as he rose up from the ground he knelt on earlier.
“Didn’t Grey and all the direct descendants work together to contain a portal break?” “And have you forgotten that the mission was forced upon us?
He had no choice than to accept since Instructor Kent was the one who assigned it to him.” Ray replied as he suddenly heaved a sigh, remembering that the instructor was dead.
“And now we can see Grey willingly working with Rivock.
This is crazy.” Finral added as he watched on with wide eyes.
“AHHHH!” Rivock roared as he pushed the demon’s claws away, sending the creature tumbling backward after losing its footing.
The direct descendant did not waste a second.
He darted forward, chasing after the tumbling demon while Grey kicked into the air, letting the strings slam into the ground and slice it open like wet paper.
With a loud grunt, Rivock swung his sword upward with all his speed and strength.
The demon instantly leaned back, letting the ki blade tear through the air just inches from its head.
The descendant did not miss a beat.
He quickly thrust his sword from the side, aiming to jam it straight into the demon’s neck, but with ridiculous speed the demon ducked, causing the thrust to glide harmlessly above its head.
Without hesitation, the demon rammed its fist into Rivock’s abdomen with the force of a battering ram.
The hit sent a shockwave through Rivock’s body, forcing blood out of his mouth as he went skidding several metres away.
But before the demon could follow up, Grey appeared in front of it in an instant, refusing to let it breathe.
Snap!
Two lightning arrows from above instantly shot down toward the demon.
It quickly crossed its bony wings above its head in an attempt to block.
BAM!
Sparks burst out in all directions as the arrows slammed into the wings with tremendous force while the ground beneath the demon caved inward from the pressure.
“We have been enemies for so long,” Grey began as the demon pushed its wings away, only to see the Supreme Magus in front of it with his fist covered in lightning.
Grey swung forward with all his might, detonating an explosive bang that rattled the air.
Gil quickly sidestepped, dodging the punch that shattered the sound barrier.
Since the Supreme Magus was not fully steadied after the attack, the demon dashed forward for a counter, only for Rivock to swoop in with a slash of his Ki sword.
The demon tried to pull its hand back but it was too late.
A ki slash burst out of the blade and sliced through the demon’s hand cleanly, sending it falling with a wet thud.
“And we were still enemies fighting against one another until you showed your ugly face.” Rivock added with a grin.
He pointed upward, then swung his finger down with force, causing a Ki sword to crash down from above toward the demon’s skull.
But the creature forcefully kicked the ground and darted aside, letting the Ki construct slam into the concrete and drive deep into it, leaving a crater.
“But the moment you forced us to join hands,” Grey said as he appeared directly above the demon.
It quickly glanced up only to see the Supreme Magus whip his leg in a clean arc and bash it into the demon’s face, hurling it out of the air.
It almost crashed into the ground.
If not for the way it managed to stabilise using its wings at the last second, the demon would have smashed into the concrete.
It landed instead, but still was not given time to rest as Rivock appeared in front of it in a flash.
“It spelled your doom.” The descendant coldly said.
