618: Is Thalos Evolving?

618: Is Thalos Evolving?

Chapter 618 ‘Come on, come on, almost done.

I just need to naturally use the world’s mana and Ki to completely heal myself instead of relying on pills, then take a pill to regain my lost energy so I can join in.

But the question still remains, how can we defeat this demon?

What is its weakness?’ Grey thought as his wounds were visibly sealing up.

The once massive punctures on both sides of his body were now closing, shrinking until they looked like long, faint marks – almost like the size of a tennis ball scar.

‘Just a minute more and I’ll be completely healed up.

Honestly, Ki is terrifying at this point,’ he thought with a sigh as he felt the shockwave from the ongoing clash repeatedly hitting his face like gusts of fierce wind.

‘I need to join… I want to join,’ Rivock thought, his hands clenching so hard that his nails dug into his palms, drawing blood.

His knuckles whitened, trembling slightly from the pressure.

‘Wh… why hasn’t any of the leaders arrived yet?

Wh… what’s keeping them back?

If nobody comes, at least Leo should have appeared by now.

What’s keeping them tied up?

Even if they were in a meeting, they should have been done by now,’ Sera thought as she ground her teeth back and forth in frustration.

‘Was I right?

Di… did they really abandon us to die?

And for goodness’ sake, why can’t I fucking remember the demon’s weakness?!’ ‘What do I do?

Why isn’t dad here?

If he was, we could have had a chance against the demon,’ Mada thought, staring down at his trembling hands filled with pitiful anger.

‘Why the fuck am I so weak?

If only I was a Stage Five warrior, I could’ve learned the clan’s technique, and maybe it would’ve helped us here.

Only if Gunther was here.

If he was, he would’ve been of great help.’ ‘Something in the air is off,’ Gil thought as he quickly ducked down, narrowly avoiding a wild swing from Thalos aimed straight for his neck at full speed.

The sword cut through the air with a deafening bang, the wind splitting apart for a moment as if space itself was being sliced.

Without missing a beat, the gargoyle flipped the sword in his grip like a dagger and thrust it toward the demon’s throat with immense speed, forcing Gil to leap away by the skin of his teeth.

‘Huh?

Is it me, or is he getting faster?’ the demon thought, frowning deeply as the gargoyle darted at him with blinding speed, blood half-covering his stone-like face.

“AHHHHH!” Thalos roared with raw power, lifting his sword high before swinging it diagonally toward the demon’s face with such speed that even the air seemed to split.

“Fuck it!” Gil bellowed as he swung his claws at the incoming blade.

The two attacks collided with thunderous force, releasing a shockwave so intense that the surrounding debris was blasted in every direction.

They stood locked in place, neither able to overpower the other, as the cracked ground beneath them groaned and split even wider, deepening into what looked like a forming crater.

“Get away!” the demon howled as it swung its hooved foot toward the gargoyle with such terrifying speed that in a blink, it smashed straight into Thalos’ abdomen.

The impact was so immense that the gargoyle didn’t even realize what had happened until his eyes widened, blood spraying from his mouth – yet, surprisingly, he didn’t go flying.

He gritted his teeth and smirked right back at the demon, refusing to show weakness.

Then, without hesitation, he released his grip on his sword, letting it free-fall.

The sudden move threw the demon off balance for a moment, its stance faltering as it tried to adjust to the unexpected drop in resistance.

In one fluid motion, Thalos twisted his body and swung his foot upward, striking the falling greatsword with monstrous force.

The blade shot back up like a rocket, slicing through the air with such speed that a deafening bang tore through the atmosphere.

Without a second of thought, the demon’s wing snapped forward.

Just one – the only one it could muster fast enough to block.

The sword collided with it, and the result was devastating.

The bony wing shattered instantly, splitting apart as the blade ripped straight through it before spiraling into the air.

The impact stunned the demon completely.

It staggered backward in disbelief, left with only one wing while fragments of the broken one scattered across the ground.

‘Ho… how… how is this possible?

He wasn’t this strong before!

What… what is going on?!’ Gil thought, his mind in chaos as he watched Thalos crouch slightly, holding one hand up into the air.

Then – BOOM!

a thunderous sound split the air as the gargoyle vanished from his spot, darting forward with terrifying velocity.

Right on cue, his sword came flying back into his hand with a metallic shing, locking perfectly into his grip as if it belonged there.

‘He… he… he…’ the demon stuttered inwardly, its wide eyes trembling as it sensed the gargoyle’s aura.

Its jaw slowly fell open in shock.

‘He’s getting stronger… and faster.

His aura is so condensed… It’s suffocating!

But how?!’ “Right here, right now,” Thalos grunted through exhaustion, his breathing heavy.

He raised his sword high above his head and brought it down in a deadly arc.

The demon barely avoided the strike, dodging by the skin of its teeth as the sword crashed into the ground with overwhelming force.

The earth split instantly, chunks of stone and dust blasting high into the air.

The demon stumbled backward, genuine fear flashing across its face as it watched the gargoyle’s eyes begin to glow a fierce golden hue – his sword shining the same color, humming with sheer destructive power.

“I will surpass my limit!” Thalos roared, swinging his blade upward from below like an uppercut, the tip grazing the ground and tearing it apart as he rose.

“Ha!

You can’t hit me from that far, foo…” the demon’s words died mid-sentence as the sword’s tip struck something buried beneath the earth.

In an instant, whatever it hit was sent flying toward the demon with such insane speed and strength that the sound barrier shattered – not once, but twice within a split second.

The demon’s eyes went wide with pure horror.

BAM!

BANG!

BANG!

The object slammed into the demon with bone-crushing force, blood spraying violently from its mouth as its entire body was blasted away.

It crashed through the spectating stands, destroying everything in its path – seats, stone, and all before being sent hurtling out of the coliseum entirely.

As the dust cleared, everyone’s eyes followed the fallen object that now lay on the ground.

What they saw left them frozen.

It was a hand.

And not just any hand, it was Thalos’ own severed hand, which was what he had used his greatsword to strike.

The sheer impact of that attack had turned his hand into a weapon, powerful enough to send the demon flying like a ragdoll.

The air turned cold and silent as every eye locked on the gargoyle, who stood firm, blood dripping from his missing arm yet still smiling in defiance.
