Magus Supremacy - Chapter 616
616: Intense Clash!
616: Intense Clash!
Chapter 616 ‘Th… This… This is fucked up!’ Albed exclaimed inwardly as she felt her body trembling – not out of fear, but from awe at what she was witnessing right now.
The clash between Gil and Thalos was pure madness as the duo rapidly fired at each other without relenting.
Everyone could now see that the gargoyle’s hand had just been sliced off, yet even with that, he was still ready to charge again.
BANG!
The air trembled violently from the clash as Thalos, wielding his sword with a single hand, collided head-on with Gil’s claws, causing the ground beneath them to split apart as both glared intensely at each other.
“ARGHHHH!” Gil roared in fury as its bony wings suddenly coiled forward and shot towards Thalos’ face, but the gargoyle quickly leaped back, narrowly avoiding the wings that sliced through the air with a sharp, echoing bang.
The demon refused to give the gargoyle even a second of breathing space.
The moment Thalos’ feet touched the ground, Gil exploded forward with immense rage, one wing slashing from the side while its claws streaked towards the gargoyle’s face.
“Let’s see you block with a single hand!” Gil thundered as the attacks tore through the air at terrifying speed.
“You underestimate me a lot.” Thalos grinned as the ground began to quake beneath his feet, cracking more and more until it split apart entirely.
In the very next instant, the gargoyle shot into the air, dodging the incoming attacks in the blink of an eye.
Without missing a beat, and still airborne, the gargoyle hurled his sword with all his might, sending it rocketing toward the demon like a missile – so fast that the greatsword didn’t just break the sound barrier; it shattered it, producing a thunderous bang that echoed far and wide.
Gil reacted instantly, bringing his bony wings in front of his body to block the sword, but the force behind the throw was monstrous.
The impact lifted the demon clean off its feet and hurled it backward across the battlefield, thin cracks appearing along its wings.
However, Gil didn’t stay airborne for long.
In a strange motion, it swung both arms downward toward the ground.
What the humans watching couldn’t see was that thin, invisible strings shot out from its hands and lodged deep into the earth.
This sudden move halted the demon’s flight.
Without wasting a moment, Gil, still connected to the invisible strings, tensed its body and spun around with full force, using the strings like a sling to propel itself back toward Thalos who had just landed.
Now, Gil resembled a deadly arrow streaking through the air with terrifying speed.
But Thalos, upon seeing this, merely extended his remaining arm, and in that instant, his greatsword responded – zipping through the air from where it had fallen.
The weapon whistled toward the demon’s back with immense velocity, forcing Gil to quickly spin around and bring its wings up in front of its face, just in time to block the strike.
BANG!
A thunderous boom echoed as the sword slammed into the wings.
Both the weapon and the demon froze in midair for a split second before the ground beneath Gil cracked open from the pressure.
Then, like an arrow loosed from a bow, the sword was flung away as the demon unfurled its wings, sending the weapon spinning far into the distance.
“Don’t think a single hand is going to stop me from hurting you!” Thalos roared as the demon landed, only to see the gargoyle’s fist already shooting toward its face with devastating speed.
“Damn you!” Gil shouted back in pure rage as his claws gleamed maliciously and then… Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Blurry movements filled the air as most of the spectators struggled to keep up.
The two fighters had transcended into using speed far too great for ordinary eyes to follow.
The only thing visible were flashes of sparks and flickering lights from their violent clash.
Thalos, even with a single hand, was blocking and countering the demon’s attacks fluidly.
Despite having both arms and a size advantage, Gil still couldn’t completely overwhelm the gargoyle.
At this point, they weren’t even fighting in one spot anymore.
The two began darting all around the coliseum at insane speed, each collision producing loud, terrifying bangs that shattered more of the already-ruined ground beneath them.
Aside from the flickering sparks, the spectators could see chunks of earth and stone flying everywhere.
Walls cracked, rubbles scattered, and gusts of wind blasted across the arena, almost hitting the terrified onlookers as the two monsters continued their intense duel for several minutes.
BANG!
Another deafening boom rang out as Thalos swung his fist toward the demon’s face, only for Gil to block it at the last second.
The collision released a violent shockwave that blasted outward, slamming into the spectators and forcing many to stumble back several inches.
Leaping away, Thalos could be seen huffing and panting.
His body was covered in cuts, bruises, and thin cracks across his stony skin.
Blood seeped from several deep slices, and even one of his eyes bore a visible injury.
The once pristine gargoyle now looked battered and broken, while the demon before him smirked darkly – its own wounds closing rapidly, flesh and bone knitting together in seconds.
“Look at you,” Gil sneered with dark satisfaction, spreading its wings wide as the air around it rippled.
“You can barely keep up with me now.
And me?
I can do this all day long!” it declared, laughing maniacally as its claws glistened under the crimson light.
Thalos glared back, his chest rising and falling with each breath.
For a brief moment, he glanced behind him.
The humans huddled together, their faces pale, trembling as if their lives could be snuffed out at any second.
Then his gaze shifted to Grey – the Supreme Magus who sat cross-legged on the ground, appearing to meditate calmly amidst the chaos.
Looking closer, Thalos noticed the man’s wounds slowly sealing up on their own.
‘I just need to hold out a little longer till Grey joins in,’ the gargoyle thought, breathing heavily.
‘Though I’m strong, I’m not arrogant enough to think I can defeat this demon alone.
I’m not that strong yet…
If only I had evolved, this fight would have been nothing to me.’ His eyes hardened as he clenched his remaining hand into a fist.
A grin slowly crept across his face, stretching wider with every passing heartbeat.
“And what makes you think I can’t do this all day long, huh?” Thalos taunted with a fierce grin as his weapon suddenly zipped through the air, returning to his hand with a sharp shing.
