Magus Supremacy - Chapter 615
615: A Hand for a hand!
615: A Hand for a hand!
Chapter 615 “KUK!” Grey could be seen and heard coughing as the exchange between Thalos and the demon grew so intense that even the shockwaves were reaching where he was.
The force kept battering his already weakened body, but his eyes stayed open, locked on the chaos before him.
Through his blurred vision, he saw how the demon’s body kept regenerating no matter how many devastating hits Thalos landed on it, and two words echoed constantly in his mind.
‘Not enough.’ He knew they needed more to actually bring the demon down, but he didn’t know what that “more” was.
He was completely at a loss on what to do, and to make it worse, he was injured-barely able to stand, let alone fight.
Or so everyone thought.
A faint glow suddenly flickered around the pendant hanging from his neck, catching Rivock and Mada’s attention mid-battle.
Their eyes widened when they noticed the aura forming around him.
‘That strike luckily didn’t hit any vital organs, so I can still recover.
Ki has regenerative properties, and even though I’ve exhausted mine, there’s still one thing that can help me,’ he thought as a small pouch materialized in his hand.
He fumbled weakly with it before pulling out two bright yellow pills and swallowing them in one go.
Within seconds, the effects surged through his body.
He could feel his Dantian being restored-rapidly filling with Ki.
But just as quickly, it began to drain again as he crossed his legs and slipped into deep meditation, focusing every bit of regained Ki on his torn abdomen.
He was circulating his energy, directing it inward to repair his injuries with the help of Ki.
His breathing steadied.
‘Wait… my Dantian has expanded?
How’s that possible without me evolving?’ He frowned slightly, gritting his teeth as pain coursed through him.
‘Could it be because I absorbed Ki from an unconscious Mada earlier?
Hmm… I can feel it-I’m so close to Stage Three.
Just one final push.
But what is it?’ Another shockwave hit him hard, forcing blood to drip from the corner of his mouth, but his focus didn’t waver.
‘What is he doing?’ Rivock thought, glancing down at the meditating Supreme Magus.
‘Come to think of it, who even is he?
Where did he come from?
Why doesn’t he have the Vay…No!
It’s obvious now-he’s not of this world.
Maybe he’s one of those special ones, a one-of-a-kind existence.
Should we really keep seeing him as an enemy?
He saved Mada from a demon, after all.’ Grey’s body trembled slightly as his flesh began knitting back together.
The twin holes in his stomach slowly sealed up, though painfully slower compared to the demon’s instant regeneration.
His Ki-mixed with faint traces of mana worked tirelessly, patching him up from within.
The first yellow pill had completed its cycle just as the second one kicked in, continuing the process and pushing his healing forward.
‘Thalos…’ Grey thought as another wave of force smashed against his face.
‘It’ll take me a few minutes before I can rejoin the battle.
I don’t know if you’ve realized it yet, but you’re close too-terribly close to breaking into the next stage.
Hold on until then.’ BANG!
A thunderous explosion shattered the ground as Thalos’s kick landed squarely in the demon’s chest, sending it skidding and tumbling backward.
Its hooved feet gouged trenches in the earth with every desperate attempt to stop its momentum.
But the gargoyle wasn’t about to let up.
He pressed his clawed feet into the ground, blasting off like a cannon.
The air boomed as he blitzed toward the demon, his greatsword dragging behind him with a sharp hum.
In a flash, Thalos appeared right in front of the tumbling creature, his greatsword sweeping upward from below splitting the air cleanly in two as it streaked toward the demon’s head, each inch humming with lethal power.
“ENOUGH, damn it!” Gil thundered furiously as its limbs regrew in an instant.
With a deafening roar, it swung its claws toward Thalos’s sword, clashing against the blade and halting its movement completely while releasing a violent blast of air outward.
No matter how much strength Thalos poured into his swing, he couldn’t move the blade forward even an inch.
The sword was locked in place, trapped by the demon’s brute force.
“You will pay for everything!” Gil bellowed in fury as it swung its foot into Thalos’s stomach with the might of a battering ram.
Yet even that devastating kick wasn’t enough to move the gargoyle.
Thalos stood his ground firmly, his feet digging deep into the shattered earth beneath him.
“Be as strong and unmovable as a mountain for defense… then as fluid and unpredictable as water for attack,” Thalos muttered fiercely, his voice a low growl.
In the next instant, he released his grip on the sword that the demon held and exploded forward with a burst of raw speed.
“ARGHHHH!” Thalos roared, leaping high into the air.
His stone-clad fist rose above his head before swinging down toward the demon’s skull with bone-crushing power.
“Don’t touch me!” Gil thundered back, flipping Thalos’s sword midair and swinging it to intercept the incoming strike.
But right before impact, Thalos kicked the air with incredible agility, spinning mid-flight to evade the slash that sliced cleanly through the air.
Instead of throwing a punch, Thalos used his entire momentum to crash his head directly into the demon’s.
BOOOOM!
A thunderous impact burst out as the ground beneath them shattered into a deep crater.
Cracks rippled outward for several meters as both combatants reeled from the blow.
A thin crack appeared on Thalos’s forehead as pinkish blood spurted out.
He staggered backward slightly, while the demon was lifted off its feet and hurled into the distance like a ragdoll, its own head bleeding profusely.
Gil snarled as it stabbed its claws into the ground, grinding to a halt in a violent skid.
The earth tore beneath its claws as it came to a stop just in time to see Thalos already charging again, his golden eyes blazing with battle-lust.
The demon’s claws and wings twitched rapidly as Thalos closed the distance between them in seconds.
In a blur, the gargoyle appeared two feet in front of Gil, his arm cocked back before shooting upward with a vicious uppercut aimed at the demon’s head.
But the instant his hand crossed that critical distance… TCHWK!
THUD!
A loud, heavy thud echoed through the coliseum.
Grey’s eyes snapped open, horror flashing in them as he saw one of Thalos’s hands sliced clean off, hitting the ground with a wet thump.
Blood gushed from the severed stump as the gargoyle stumbled backward in shock.
“Kek!
A hand for a hand,” Gil cackled darkly, his eyes glinting with sadistic glee.
“How does it feel, losing your limb just like that?” “Next up… your head!” the demon roared as its wings flared.
With a thunderous boom, it launched itself toward the stunned gargoyle.
But suddenly, Thalos’s lips curled into a grin-wide, unhinged, and full of malice as his golden eyes burned brighter than ever.
Then, with a sharp whoosh, his greatsword reappeared in his remaining hand.
“This is fun,” Thalos muttered, the grin stretching from ear to ear as he darted forward once more, ready to meet the charging demon head-on with a single arm and unbroken will.
