606: Hopelessness!

606: Hopelessness!

Chapter 606 BANG!

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

The air thundered and shuddered with every clash from the four warriors and the demon.

Each impact sent harsh gusts of wind blasting across the entire coliseum as shockwaves rattled the ground and caused cracks to spread across the stone floor.

The four warriors were working together in perfect rhythm, weaving through the demon’s defences as they tried to overwhelm it with relentless speed and force.

But no matter how fierce or sudden their attacks were, the demon remained on the defensive, always blocking or avoiding the strikes that came its way.

Claws clashed against steel.

Sparks burst into the air.

Yet the demon kept its ground, its expression unfazed, and its movement almost calculated.

One of its claws moved in an awkward rhythm, slightly delayed, almost as if something was wrong with it, but still, it blocked every strike being sent at it.

“Rivock!” Sera shouted, her hair fluttering wildly in the storm of Ki.

She parried a claw that screeched against her sword, and upon hearing his name, the direct descendant kicked off the ground and leaped into the air.

Blood dripped from the side of his mouth, but he paid no attention.

Gritting his teeth, he raised his Ki sword above his head and hurled it forward.

A massive crescent wave of Ki tore through the air toward the demon.

But in the blink of an eye, the creature tilted its body and avoided it completely.

The attack carved a deep gouge through the ground behind it, tearing stone apart, yet not even a scratch appeared on the demon.

Even with the opening presented to it, the demon did not retaliate.

Instead, it stood still for a brief second, allowing Mada to slide in on his knees.

He swung his sword horizontally, aiming to take its head clean off.

But the demon kicked off the ground with terrifying strength.

It propelled itself into the air with a booming crack of force, avoiding Mada’s slash entirely.

The sword hit nothing but the air, producing a sharp bang.

While airborne, the demon was not allowed even a moment of rest.

Noelle snapped her wrist, her whip producing a loud crack as it shot upward.

Right now, she was the slowest among them, breathing heavily, her body trembling.

She had expended most of her Ki during the tournament and then spent the rest fighting against the demonic minions.

So instead of recklessly charging in, she waited, observing, looking for the perfect opening.

This time, she found one.

With a sharp hiss, the whip coiled tightly around the demon’s hooved foot.

“Come on down!” Noelle yelled as she tried pulling the demon down with all her strength.

But her arms trembled, and her strength wasn’t enough.

Sera immediately flash-stepped to her side, grabbed the whip’s body, and channelled Ki into her arms.

With a powerful tug, the demon was yanked from the air, its body hurtling downward like a falling star.

But before it could smash into the ground, the demon spun in midair like a drill, twisting its body unnaturally fast.

In the blink of an eye, it vanished from sight.

Sera barely had time to widen her eyes.

BAM!

Gil appeared right in front of her and drove its hooved foot into her face with monstrous strength.

The impact was brutal.

The ground beneath Sera split open.

Blood sprayed from her mouth and nose as her body was lifted off the ground and sent flying like a ragdoll.

She shot across the battlefield and crashed violently into one of the coliseum’s stone walls.

The wall dented, then exploded into rubble with a deafening rumble, collapsing entirely as dust clouds billowed into the sky.

“Fuck!

Instructor Sera!” Mada shouted in shock as he saw the female buried under the rubbles, her arm barely visible beneath the shattered stones and debris.

“Grey, are you sure about what you are doing?” Thalos asked, his body twitching as if his instincts were forcing him to jump into the fight but his mind kept him rooted.

The Supreme Magus did not reply.

His hands were tightly clenched to the point his knuckles turned pale white, his teeth grinding back and forth while his gaze remained fixed on the demon.

He refused to take his eyes off it, not even for a second.

‘Come on bastard, reveal it already,’ he roared inwardly as his heartbeat pounded uncontrollably in his ears.

A few distances away, Finral, Jared, Liam, Ray and a few of Jared’s friends stood watching the battle unfold.

After Sera had forced the other students back, they managed to escape from the coliseum without the demon noticing.

Only these ones remained here, frozen between fear and shock.

Finral and Ray had refused to leave without Grey, their feet staying planted no matter how much their bodies screamed at them to run.

Liam, on the other hand, could not move even if he wanted to.

He was too scared to take a single step.

Jared did not even understand why he was still in the coliseum.

His entire body trembled with fear, his hands rattling uncontrollably, but some part of him refused to leave.

And because he stayed, his friends stayed too, all of them keeping their eyes locked on the battle even though sometimes they could not follow the high-speed exchanges.

“Someone tell me why the fuck Grey isn’t doing anything yet?” one of Jared’s friends shouted, his voice filled with panic as his heart thumped violently against his chest.

“Oh?” Finral muttered as he glanced at them, his own teeth grinding.

“Why should he risk his life for you all?

After everything you all and Jared did?

You betrayed him for selfish reasons, yet now he should fight the demon for you?” “And if he does not, we all still die, including him, dumbass!” Jared shot back, forcing himself to breathe slowly as he tried to calm his nerves.

“You think someone like Grey who displayed magical-like abilities wouldn’t have an escape plan if he wanted to leave?

Tch.” Finral scoffed and turned back to the fight, only to see Sera being flung away brutally, her body crashing against the shattered wall.

“Shit.

This is bad, this is bad, this is bad.” Liam kept murmuring nonstop as his hands trembled and his teeth clattered in fear.

His eyes were glossy, and he looked like he was on the verge of breaking down completely.

‘Damn it.

Can we survive this at all?’ Ray thought, his fingers curling into fists.

‘It is obvious Rivock is currently weakened.

If he was at full strength along with instructor Sera, they could at least stand a chance against the demon.

But right now, he looks like he is barely hanging on.’ Blood dripped from Rivock’s nose and mouth, yet he still swirled Ki around his feet and exploded forward, stabbing his Ki sword into the ground to stay upright after taking another heavy hit.

‘Can we even do anything?’ Ray thought again.

‘I cannot even help because I am weak.

I am just a stage three warrior.

What can I do when even a stage six warrior like Rivock is getting whopped around like a ragdoll?’ His teeth ground together in pure frustration at how useless he felt, his eyes beginning to grow moist.

‘For fuck sake, do something, Grey.’
